1That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations,
1यिर्मया या संदेष्ट्याला जो संदेश मिळाला, तो वेगवेगळ्या राष्ट्रांसाठी होता.
2For Egypt, concerning the force of Pharaoh-Necho king of Egypt, that hath been by the river Phrat, in Carchemish, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath smitten, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:
2हा संदेश मिसर देशासाठी आहे. फारो नखो ह्याच्या सैन्याविषयी हा संदेश आहे. नखो मिसरचा राजा होता. कर्कमीश शहराजवळ त्याच्या सैन्याचा पराभव झाला. कर्कंमीश फरात नदीच्या काठी आहे. योशीयाचा मुलगा योहयाकीम यहूदाचा राजा असताना त्याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या चौथ्या वर्षी बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर याने फारो नखोच्या सैन्याचा कर्कमीश येथे पराभव केला. परमेश्वराचा मिसरला पुढीलप्रमाणे संदेश आहे:
3`Set ye in array shield and buckler, And draw nigh to battle.
3“तुमच्या लहान मोठ्या ढाली तयार ठेवा. लढण्यासाठी कूच करा
4Gird the horses, and go up, ye horsemen, And station yourselves with helmets, Polish the javelins, put on the coats of mail.
4घोडे तयार ठेवा. सैनिकांनो, घोड्यावर स्वार व्हा, युद्धासाठी आपापल्या जागा धरा. शिरस्त्राण घाला. भाल्यांना धार करा. चिलखत घाला.
5Wherefore have I seen them dismayed — They are turned backward, And their mighty ones are beaten down, And [to] a refuge they have fled, and not turned the face? Fear [is] round about — an affirmation of Jehovah.
5हे मी काय पाहतो? ते सैन्य भयभीत झाले आहे, सैनिक दूर पळून जात आहेत त्यांच्या शूर वीरांचा पराभव झाला आहे. ते घाईने पळून जात आहेत. ते मागे वळून पाहत नाहीत. सगळीकडे धोका आहे.” परमेश्वराने ह्या गोष्टी सांगितल्या.
6The swift do not flee, nor do the mighty escape, Northward, by the side of the river Phrat, They have stumbled and fallen.
6चपळ लोक दूर पळून जाऊ शकणार नाहीत. बलवान सैनिक निसटू शकणार नाहीत. ते सगळे अडखळून पडतील. हे सगळे फरात नदीच्या उत्तरेस घडेल.
7Who is this? as a flood he cometh up, As rivers do his waters shake themselves!
7नील नदीप्रमाणे हा कोण येत आहे? त्या मोठ्या, वेगवान नदीप्रमाणे कोण बरे येत आहे?
8Egypt, as a flood cometh up, And as rivers the waters shake themselves. And he saith, I go up; I cover the land, I destroy the city and the inhabitants in it.
8उसळणाऱ्या नील नदीप्रमाणे मिसर येत आहे. प्रचंड, वेगवान नदीप्रमाणे तो येत आहे. मिसर म्हणतो, ‘मी येऊन पृथ्वीला व्यापून टाकीन. मी शहरे व त्यात राहणाऱ्या लोकांचा नाश करीन.’
9Go up, ye horses; and boast yourselves, ye chariots, And go forth, ye mighty, Cush and Phut handling the shield, And Lud handling — treading the bow.
9घोडेस्वारांनो, चढाई करा. सारथ्यांनो, रथ वेगाने हाका. शूर सैनिकांनो, कूच करा. कूश व फूट येथील सैनिकांनो, ढाली सांभाळा. लूदच्या सैनिकांनो, धनुष्याचा उपयोग करा.
10And that day [is] to the Lord Jehovah of Hosts A day of vengeance, To be avenged of His adversaries, And the sword hath devoured, and been satisfied, And it hath been watered from their blood, For a sacrifice [is] to the Lord Jehovah of Hosts, In the land of the north, by the river Phrat.
10“पण त्या वेळी, आमच्या प्रभूचा, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वराचाच जय होईल. तो त्यांना योग्य ती शिक्षा करील. परमेश्वराच्या शत्रूंना योग्य अशीच शिक्षा मिळेल. सर्वनाश होईपर्यंत तलवार वार करील. तलवारीला लागलेली रक्ताची तहान भागेपर्यंत ती लोकांना ठार करील. आमच्या प्रभूला, सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वराला बळी मिळावा म्हणून असे घडेल. हा बळी म्हणजे फरात नदीच्या काठी उत्तरेच्या प्रदेशात असलेले मिसरचे सैन्य होय.
11Go up to Gilead, and take balm, O virgin daughter of Egypt, In vain thou hast multiplied medicines, Healing there is none for thee.
11“मिसर, गिलादला जा आणि काही औषध मिळव. तू खूप औषधे मिळवशील, पण त्याचा उपयोग होणार नाही तू बरा होणार नाहीस.
12Nations have heard of thy shame, And thy cry hath filled the land, For the mighty on the mighty did stumble, Together they have fallen — both of them!`
12इतर राष्ट्रे तुझा आक्रोश ऐकतील. सर्व पृथ्वीवर तो ऐकू जाईल. एक ‘शूर योद्धा’ दुसऱ्या ‘शूर योधध्द्याला’ भिडेल. आणि दोघेही ‘शूर योद्धे’ बरोबरच खाली पडतील.”
13The word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning the coming in of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, to smite the land of Egypt:
13परमेश्वराने यिर्मया या संदेष्ट्याला जो संदेश दिला, तो मिसरवर स्वारी करुन येणाऱ्या बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सरबद्दल होता.
14`Declare ye in Egypt, and sound in Migdol, Yea, sound in Noph, and in Tahpanhes say: Station thyself, yea, prepare for thee, For a sword hath devoured around thee,
14“मिसरमध्ये ह्या संदेशाची घोषणा कर. मिग्दोल, नोफ व तहपन्हेस येथे जाहीर कर ‘युद्धाला तयार व्हा. का? कारण तुमच्या भोवतालचे लोक तलवारीने मारले जात आहेत.’
15Wherefore hath thy bull been swept away? He hath not stood, because Jehovah thrust him away.
15“मिसर, तुझे बलवान सैनिक मारले जातील. ते उभेच राहू शकणार नाहीत कारण परमेश्वरच त्यांना खाली पाडेल.
16He hath multiplied the stumbling, Yea one hath fallen upon his neighbour, And they say: Rise, and we turn back to our people, And unto the land of our birth, Because of the oppressing sword.
16ते पुन्हा पुन्हा धडपडतील. ते एकमेकावर पडतील ते म्हणतील, ‘उठा! आपण माघारी, आपल्या लोकांमध्ये जाऊ या आपण माय भूमीला परत जाऊ. या आपला शत्रू आपला पराभव करीत आहे. आपण दूर गेलेच पाहिजे.’
17They have cried there: Pharaoh king of Egypt [is] a desolation, Passed by hath the appointed time.
17त्यांच्या मायभूमीत, ते सैनिक म्हणतील, ‘मिसरचा राजा फारो म्हणजे नुसताच राजावाजा आहे. त्याच्या वैभवाचा काळ संपला आहे.”
18I live — an affirmation of the King, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name, Surely as Tabor [is] among mountains, And as Carmel by the sea — he cometh in,
18हा राजाकडून आलेला संदेश आहे. तो राजा म्हणजे सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरच होय. “मी शपथपूर्वक वचन देतो की सामर्थ्यवान नेता येईल. तो ताबोर आणि समुद्राजवळील कर्मेल पर्वताप्रमाणे महान असेल.
19Goods for removal make for thee, O inhabitant, daughter of Egypt, For Noph becometh a desolation, And hath been burnt up, without inhabitant.
19मिसरच्या लोकांनो, गाशा गुंडाळा कैदेस तयार व्हा. का? कारण नोफचा नाश होऊन ते निर्जन होईल. त्या शहरांचा नाश केला जाईल. ती निर्जन होतील.
20A heifer very fair [is] Egypt, Rending from the north doth come into her.
20“मिसर सुंदर गायीप्रमाणे आहे. पण उत्तरेकडून एक गोमाशी तिला त्रास देण्यास येत आहे.
21Even her hired ones in her midst [are] as calves of the stall, For even they have turned, They have fled together, they have not stood, For the day of their calamity hath come on them, The time of their inspection.
21मिसरच्या सैन्यातील भाडोत्री सैनिक हे लठ्ठ वासराप्रमाणे आहेत. ते पाठ फिरवून पळून जातील. ते चढाईला समर्थपणे तोंड देणार नाहीत त्यांच्या नाशाची वेळ येत आहे. त्यांना लवकरच शिक्षा होईल.
22Its voice as a serpent goeth on, For with a force they go, And with axes they have come in to her, As hewers of trees.
22मिसर, फूत्कारणाऱ्या व निसटून जाण्याचा प्रयत्न करणाऱ्या सापाप्रमाणे आहे. शत्रू जवळ जवळ येत आहे आणि मिसरचे सैन्य पळून जाण्याचा प्रयत्न करीत आहे. शत्रू मिसरवर कुऱ्हाडीने हल्ला करतील. ते लाकूडतोड्यां प्रमाणे असतील.”
23They have cut down her forest, An affirmation of Jehovah — for it is not searched, For they have been more than the grasshopper, And they have no numbering.
23परमेश्वर पुढील गोष्टी सांगतो: “ते मिसरचे जंगल (सैन्य) तोडून टाकतील जंगलात (सैन्यात) खूप झाडे (सैनिक) आहेत. पण ती सर्व तोडली जातील. टोळापेक्षा तेथे जास्त सैनिक आहेत. कोणीही मोजू शकणार नाही एवढे सैनिक येथे आहेत.
24Ashamed hath been the daughter of Egypt, She hath been given into the hand of the people of the north.
24मिसरची स्थिती लज्जास्पद होईल. उत्तरेचा शत्रू तिचा पराभव करील.”
25Said hath Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Lo, I am seeing after Amon of No, And after Pharaoh, and after Egypt, And after her gods, and after her kings, And after Pharaoh, and after those trusting in him,
25सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर, इस्राएलचा देव म्हणतो, “लवकरच मी नोच्या आमोन देवतेला शिक्षा करीन. मी फारो, मिसर आणि तिचे दैवत यांनाही शिक्षा करीन. मी मिसरच्या राजाला सजा देईन आणि फारोवर अवलंबून असलेल्या लोकांना शिक्षा करीन.
26And I have given them into the hand of those seeking their life, And into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, And into the hand of his servants, And afterwards it is inhabited, As [in] days of old — an affirmation of Jehovah.
26मी ह्या सर्व लोकांचा त्यांच्या शत्रूंच्या हातून पराभव करीन. त्या शत्रूंची त्यांना मारण्याची इच्छा आहे. मी त्या लोकांना बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर व त्याचे सेवक ह्यांच्या हवाली करीन.” “फार पूर्वी, मिसरला, शांतता होती. ह्या संकटकाळानंतरही मिसरला शांतता नांदेल.” परमेश्वराने ह्या गोष्टी सांगितल्या.
27And thou, thou dost not fear, my servant Jacob, Nor [art] thou dismayed, O Israel, For lo, I am saving thee from afar, And thy seed from the land of their captivity, And Jacob hath turned back, And hath been at rest, and been at ease, And there is none disturbing.
27“याकोब, माझ्या सेवका, घाबरु नकोस. इस्राएल, भिऊ नकोस. दुरच्या ठिकाणाहून मी तुला वाचवीन. निरनिराळ्या देशांत कैदी म्हणून नेलेल्या तुझ्या मुलांचे मी रक्षण करीन. याकोबला पुन्हा शांतता व संरक्षण लाभेल. कोणीही त्याला भीती दाखविणार नाही.”
28Thou, thou dost not fear, My servant Jacob, An affirmation of Jehovah — for with thee I [am], For I make an end of all the nations Whither I have driven thee, And of thee I do not make an end, And I have reproved thee in judgment, And do not entirely acquit thee!`
28परमेश्वर पुढील गोष्टी सांगतो, “याकोब, माझ्या सेवका घाबरु नकोस. मी तुझ्या पाठीशी आहे मी तुला खूप निरनिराळ्या ठिकाणी पाठविले पण मी तुझा संपूर्ण नाश करणार नाही. इतर राष्ट्रांचा मात्र मी नाश करीन. तुझ्या दुष्कृत्यांबद्दल तुला शिक्षा झालीच पाहिजे. म्हणून तुझ्या शिक्षेतून मी तुला सूट देणार नाही. मी तुला शिस्त लावीन हे खरे! पण ती न्याय्यपणाने लावीन.”
