¹And Job answereth and saith: —

¹नंतर ईयोबने बिल्ददला उत्तर दिले:

²What — thou hast helped the powerless, Saved an arm not strong!

²“बिल्दद, सोफर आणि अलीफज तुम्ही दुर्बल माणसासाठी खूप मोठे साहाय्य आहात. हो तुम्हीच दुबळ्या हातांना पुन्हा जोमदार बनवले. (हे ईयोबचे बोलणे उपरोधक आहे)

³What — thou hast given counsel to the unwise, And wise plans in abundance made known.

³“विद्वत्ताहीन माणसाला तुम्ही फार चांगला उपदेश केला. तुम्ही किती विद्वान आहात ते तुम्ही दाखवून दिलेत.

⁴With whom hast thou declared words? And whose breath came forth from thee?

⁴हे बोलण्यासाठी तुम्हाला कुणाची मदत मिळाली? कुणाच्या आत्म्याने तुम्हांला याची प्रेरणा दिली?

⁵The Rephaim are formed, Beneath the waters, also their inhabitants.

⁵“मेलेल्या माणसाचा आत्मा भयाने पृथ्वीच्या खाली पाण्यात घाबरतो.

⁶Naked [is] Sheol over-against Him, And there is no covering to destruction.

⁶परंतु देव मृत्युलोकात स्वच्छपणे बघू शकतो. मृत्यु देवापासून लपून राहात नाही.

⁷Stretching out the north over desolation, Hanging the earth upon nothing,

⁷देवाने रिकाम्या पोकळीत दक्षिणेकडचे आकाश सरकवले. देवाने पृथ्वी निराधार टांगली, अधांतरी ठेवली.

⁸Binding up the waters in His thick clouds, And the cloud is not rent under them.

⁸“देव घनदाट ढगांना पाण्याने भरतो. परंतु त्या वजनाने तो ढगांना फुटू देत नाही.

⁹Taking hold of the face of the throne, Spreading over it His cloud.

⁹देव पूर्ण चंद्राचा चेहरा झाकून टाकतो. तो त्याच्यावर ढग पसरवतो आणि त्याला लपवतो.

¹⁰A limit He hath placed on the waters, Unto the boundary of light with darkness.

¹⁰देवाने सागरावर एक वर्तुळ आखले आणि प्रकाश काळोखापासून वेगळा करण्यासाठी क्षितिज निर्माण केले.

¹¹Pillars of the heavens do tremble, And they wonder because of His rebuke.

¹¹देव जेव्हा धमकी देतो तेव्हा आकाशाला आधार देणारा पाया भयाने थरथरायला लगतो.

¹²By His power He hath quieted the sea, And by His understanding smitten the proud.

¹²देवाची शक्ती सागराला शांत करते. देवाच्या विद्वत्तेने राहाबाच्या मदतनीसांना नष्ट केले.

¹³By His Spirit the heavens He beautified, Formed hath His hand the fleeing serpent.

¹³देवाचा नि:श्वास आकाश स्वच्छ करतो. देवाच्या हातांनी पळून जाणाऱ्या सापाला नष्ट केले.

¹⁴Lo, these [are] the borders of His way, And how little a matter is heard of Him, And the thunder of His might Who doth understand?

¹⁴देव ज्या काही अनामिक गोष्टी करतो त्यापैकी या काही गोष्टी आहेत. आपण देवाची एखादी लहानशी कुजबुज ऐकतो, देव किती सामर्थ्यवान आणि शक्तिशाली आहे. हे कोणालाच कळत नाही.”
