1And yet, I pray thee, O Job, Hear my speech and [to] all my words give ear.
1“ईयोब, आता माझ्याकडे लक्ष दे. मी काय म्हणतो ते लक्षपूर्वक ऐक.
2Lo, I pray thee, I have opened my mouth, My tongue hath spoken in the palate.
2मी आता बोलायला तयार झालो आहे.
3Of the uprightness of my heart [are] my sayings, And knowledge have my lips clearly spoken.
3माझे अंत:करण प्रामाणिक आहे. म्हणून मी प्रामाणिक शब्दच बोलेन. मला जे माहीत आहे त्याबद्दल मी सत्य तेच सांगेन.
4The Spirit of God hath made me, And the breath of the Mighty doth quicken me.
4देवाच्या आत्म्याने मला निर्माण केले. मला सर्वशक्तिमान देवाकडून जीवन मिळाले.
5If thou art able — answer me, Set in array before me — station thyself.
5ईयोब, माझे बोलणे ऐक आणि तुला शक्य झाले तर मला उत्तर दे. माझ्याशी वाद घालण्याकरता तुझी उत्तरे तयार ठेव.
6Lo, I [am], according to thy word, for God, From the clay I — I also, have been formed.
6देवासमोर तू आणि मी सारखेच आहोत. आपल्याला निर्माण करण्यासाठी देवाने माती वापरली.
7Lo, my terror doth not frighten thee, And my burden on thee is not heavy.
7ईयोब, माझी भीती बाळगू नकोस. मी तुझ्याशी कडक वागणार नाही.
8Surely — thou hast said in mine ears, And the sounds of words I hear:
8“पण ईयोब, तू जे बोललास ते मी ऐकले.
9`Pure [am] I, without transgression, Innocent [am] I, and I have no iniquity.
9तू म्हणालास, ‘मी शुध्द आहे, मी निरपराध आहे, मी काहीही चूक केली नाही. मी अपराधी नाही.
10Lo, occasions against me He doth find, He doth reckon me for an enemy to Him,
10मी काही चूक केली नाही तरीही देव माझ्याविरुध्द आहे. देवाने मला शत्रूप्रमाणे वागवले आहे.
11He doth put in the stocks my feet, He doth watch all my paths.`
11देवाने माझ्या पायला साखळदंड बांधले. देव माझी प्रत्येक हालचाल बघतो.’
12Lo, [in] this thou hast not been righteous, I answer thee, that greater is God than man.
12“परंतु ईयोब, तू या बाबतीत चुकतो आहेस. आणि तुझी चूक मी सिध्द करुन दाखवेन. का? कारण देवाला कोणत्याही माणसापेक्षा अधिक माहिती असते.
13Wherefore against Him hast thou striven, When [for] all His matters He answereth not?
13ईयोब, तू देवाशी वाद घालत आहेस. देवाने तुला सर्व काही नीट सांगावे असे तुला वाटते.
14For once doth God speak, and twice, (He doth not behold it.)
14परंतु देव जे काही करतो ते खरोखरच स्पष्ट करुन सांगत असेल. कदाचित् देव निराळ्या रीतीने बोलत असेल आणि लोकांना ते समजत नसेल.
15In a dream — a vision of night, In the falling of deep sleep on men, In slumberings on a bed.

16Then He uncovereth the ear of men, And for their instruction sealeth:

17To turn aside man [from] doing, And pride from man He concealeth.
17देव लोकांना चुकीच्या गोष्टी करणे बंद करण्याची ताकीद देतो आणि गर्व न करण्याचेही सांगतो.
18He keepeth back his soul from corruption, And his life from passing away by a dart.
18देव लोकांना मृत्युलोकात जाण्यापासून वाचविण्यासाठी ताकीद देत असतो. देव हे सारे माणसाला नष्ट होण्यापासून वाचविण्यासाठी करतो.
19And he hath been reproved With pain on his bed, And the strife of his bones [is] enduring.
19“किंवा एखाद्याला देवाचा आवाज तेव्हा ऐकू येईल जेव्हा तो देवाने केलेल्या शिक्षेमुळे अंथरुणात पडून दु:ख भोगत असेल. देव त्याला दु:ख देऊन ताकीद देत असतो. तो माणूस वेदनेने इतका तळमळत असतो की त्याची सगळी हाडे दुखतात.
20And his life hath nauseated bread, And his soul desirable food.
20नंतर तो माणूस खाऊ शकत नाही. तो वेदनेने इतका तळमळतो की चांगल्या अन्नाचासुध्दा त्याला तिरस्कार वाटतो.
21His flesh is consumed from being seen, And high are his bones, they were not seen!
21त्याचे शरीर इतके क्षीण होते की तो जवळ जवळ दिसेनासा होतो. त्याची सगळी हाडे दिसतात.
22And draw near to the pit doth his soul, And his life to those causing death.
22तो मृत्यूलोकंाजवळ येऊन ठेपतो आणि त्याचे जीवन मरणपंथाला लागलेले असते.
23If there is by him a messenger, An interpreter — one of a thousand, To declare for man his uprightness:
23“देवाजवळ हजारो देवदूत असतात. कदिचित् त्यांच्याच पैकी एखादा त्या माणसावर लक्ष ठेवून असेल. तोच देवदूत त्याच्याबद्दल बोलेल आणि त्याच्या चांगल्या कृत्यांबद्दल सांगेल.
24Then He doth favour him and saith, `Ransom him from going down to the pit, I have found an atonement.`
24देवदूत त्याच्याशी देयेने वागेल. कदाचित् देवदूत देवाला सांगेल. ‘या माणसाला मृत्युलोकात जाण्यापासून वाचव. त्याच्या पापाची किंमत मोजण्याचा दुसरा एक मार्ग मला सापडला आहे.’
25Fresher [is] his flesh than a child`s, He returneth to the days of his youth.
25नंतर त्या माणसाचे शरीर पुन: तरुण आणि जोमदार बनेल. तो तरुणपणी जसा होता तसाच पुन्हा होईल.
26He maketh supplication unto God, And He accepteth him. And he seeth His face with shouting, And He returneth to man His righteousness.
26तो देवाची प्रार्थना करेल आणि देव त्याला उत्तर देईल. तो माणूस आनंदाने ओरडेल आणि देवाची भक्ती करेल. नंतर तो मनुष्य पुन्हा चांगले जीवन जगायला लागेल.
27He looketh on men, and saith, `I sinned, And uprightness I have perverted, And it hath not been profitable to me.
27नंतर तो लोकांना कबुली देईल. तो म्हणेल, ‘मी पापकर्म केले. मी चांगल्याचे वाईट केले. पण देवाने मला जितकी वाईट शिक्षा करायला हवी होती तितकी केली नाही.
28He hath ransomed my soul From going over into the pit, And my life on the light looketh.`
28देवाने माझ्या आत्म्याला मृत्युलोकात जाण्यापासून वाचवले. आता मी पुन्हा आयुष्य उपभोगू शकतो.’
29Lo, all these doth God work, Twice — thrice with man,
29“देव त्या माणसासाठी या गोष्टी पुन्हा पुन्हा करतो.
30To bring back his soul from the pit, To be enlightened with the light of the living.
30का? त्या माणसाला ताकीद देण्यासाठी आणि त्याच्या आत्म्याला मृत्युलोकात जाण्यापासून वाचवण्यासाठी देव असे करतो असे केल्यामुळे तो त्याचे आयुष्य उपभोगू शकेल.
31Attend, O Job, hearken to me, Keep silent, and I — I do speak.
31“ईयोब, मी काय म्हणतो त्याकडे लक्ष दे. माझे ऐक! तू गप्प रहा आणि मला बोलू दे.
32If there are words — answer me, Speak, for I have a desire to justify thee.
32पण ईयोब, जर तुला माझे बोलणे पटत नसेल तर तू खुशाल बोल. मला तुझे मुद्दे सांग. कारण मला तुझे बोलणे सुधारायचे आहे.
33If there are not — hearken thou to me, Keep silent, and I teach thee wisdom.
33परंतु ईयोब, तुइयाजवळ बोलण्यासारखे काही नसेल तर माझे ऐक. तू गप्प रहा आणि मी तुला शहाणपण शिकवेन.”
