1And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them,
1परमेश्वर मोशे व अहरोन ह्यांना म्हणाला:
2`Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, This [is] the beast which ye do eat out of all the beasts which [are] on the earth:
2“इस्राएल लोकांना असे सांगा की पृथ्वीवरील ज्या प्राण्यांचे मांस तुम्ही खावे ते हे:
3any dividing a hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoofs, bringing up the cud, among the beasts, it ye do eat.
3ज्या प्राण्यांचे खूर दुभंगलेले आहेत व जे रवंथ करतात त्यांचे मांस तुम्ही खावे.
4`Only, this ye do not eat — of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof — the camel, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof not dividing — it [is] unclean to you;

5and the rabbit, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof it divideth not — unclean it [is] to you;

6and the hare, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof hath not divided — unclean it [is] to you;

7and the sow, though it is dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet the cud it bringeth not up — unclean it [is] to you.
7डुकराचे खूर दुभंगलेले आहे पण तो रवंथ करत नाही म्हणून तो तुम्हांकरिता अशुद्ध आहे.
8`Of their flesh ye do not eat, and against their carcase ye do not come — unclean they [are] to you.
8ह्यां प्राण्यांचे मांस तुम्ही खाऊ नये व त्यांच्या शवाला शिवू नये; ते तुमच्यासाठी अशुद्ध आहेत.
9`This ye do eat of all which [are] in the waters; any one that hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the brooks, them ye do eat;
9“जलाशयात, समुद्रात व नद्यात संचार करणाऱ्या ज्या प्राण्यांना पंख व खवले आहेत ते तुम्ही खावे.
10and any one that hath not fins and scales in the seas, and in the brooks, of any teeming creature of the waters, and of any creature which liveth, which [is] in the waters — an abomination they [are] to you;

11yea, an abomination they are to you; of their flesh ye do not eat, and their carcase ye abominate.

12`Any one that hath not fins and scales in the waters — an abomination it [is] to you.
12जलाशयातल्या ज्या प्राण्यांना पंख व खवले नाहीत ते देवाच्या दृष्टिने खाण्यास योग्य नाहीत ते ओंगळ समजावे.”
13`And these ye do abominate of the fowl; they are not eaten, an abomination they [are]: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
13“देवाच्या दृष्टिने अशुद्ध प्राण्याप्रमाणेच अशुद्ध असलेले व म्हणून खाऊ नयेत ते पक्षी असे; गरूड, गिधाडे, कुरर,
14and the vulture, and the kite after its kind,
14घार, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे ससाणे,
15every raven after its kind,
15निरनराळ्या जातीचे कावळे,
16and the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind,
16शहामृग, गवळण, कोकीळ, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे बहिरी ससाणे,
17and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
171पिंगळा, करढोक, मोठे घुबड,
18and the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
18पांढरे घुबड, पाणकोळी, गिधाड,
19and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
19करकोचा, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे बगळे, टिटवी आणि वटवाघूळ.
20`Every teeming creature which is flying, which is going on four — an abomination it [is] to you.
20“जितके पंख असलेले कीटक प्राणी चार पायावर चालतात तितके परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टिने खाण्यास योग्य नाहीत; ते खाऊ नये!
21`Only — this ye do eat of any teeming thing which is flying, which is going on four, which hath legs above its feet, to move with them on the earth;
21परंतु पायावर चालणाऱ्या व पंख असलेल्या प्राण्यांपैकी ज्यांना जमिनीवर उड्या मारण्यासाठी पायाबरोबर तंगड्या असतात ते तुम्ही खावे.
22these of them ye do eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the beetle after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind;
22त्याच प्रमाणे निरनिरळ्या जातीचे टोळ, निरनिरळ्या जातीचे नाकतोडे, निरनिरळ्या जातीचे खरपुडे व निरनिरळ्या जातीचे गवत्ये टोळ तुम्ही खावे.
23and every teeming thing which is flying, which hath four feet — an abomination it [is] to you.
23“परंतु चार पायाचे पंख असलेले इतर प्राणी परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने ओंगळ आहेत ते खाऊ नये.
24`And by these ye are made unclean, any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean till the evening;
24त्यांच्यामुळे तुम्ही अशुद्ध व्हाल; जो कोणी त्यांच्या शवाला शिवेल तो संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध होईल;
25and anyone who is lifting up [aught] of their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening: —
25जो कोणी मेलेल्या कीटकांना उचलील, त्याने आपली वस्त्रे धुवावी व संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध राहावे.
26even every beast which is dividing the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, and the cud is not bringing up — unclean they [are] to you; any one who is coming against them is unclean.

27`And any one going on its paws, among all the beasts which are going on four — unclean they [are] to you; any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean until the evening;

28and he who is lifting up their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean until the evening — unclean they [are] to you.
28जो कोणी त्यांची शवे उचलील त्याने आपली वस्त्रे धुवून संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध राहावे; ते प्राणी तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे.
29`And this [is] to you the unclean among the teeming things which are teeming on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind,
29“जमिनीवर रांगणाऱ्या प्राण्यांपैकी तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे ते हे: मुंगूस, उंदीर, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे सरडे,
30and the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole;
30चौपई, घोरपड, पाल, सांडा व गुहिज्या सरडा.
31these [are] the unclean to you among all which are teeming; any one who is coming against them in their death is unclean till the evening.
31हे प्राणी तुम्हाकरिता अशुद्ध समजावे. त्यांच्या शवांना जो कोणी शिवेल त्याने संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध राहावे.
32`And anything on which any one of them falleth, in their death, is unclean, of any vessel of wood or garment or skin or sack, any vessel in which work is done is brought into water, and hath been unclean till the evening, then it hath been clean;
32“त्यांच्यापैकी कोणी मरुन एखाद्या वस्तूवर पडला तर ती वस्तूही अशुद्ध समजावी; लाकडी पात्र, वस्त्र कातडे, तरट किंवा कोणत्याही कामाचे हत्यार असो, तो पाण्यात टाकावे व संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध समजावे; मग ते धुतल्यावर शुद्ध समजावे.
33and any earthen vessel, into the midst of which [any] one of them falleth, all that [is] in its midst is unclean, and it ye do break.
33त्यांच्यापैकी एखादा मरुन मातीच्या पात्रात पडला तर त्या पात्रात जे काही असेल ते अशुद्ध समजावे व ते पात्र फोडून टाकावे.
34`Of all the food which is eaten, that on which cometh [such] water, is unclean, and all drink which is drunk in any [such] vessel is unclean;
34अशुद्ध खापराचे पाणी अन्नावर पडल्यास ते अन्नही अशुद्ध होते. अशुद्ध भांड्यातील कोणतेही पेय अशुद्ध होईल.
35and anything on which [any] of their carcase falleth is unclean (oven or double pots), it is broken down, unclean they [are], yea, unclean they are to you.
35त्यांच्या शवांचा एखादा भाग एखाद्या भट्टीवर किंवा चुलीवर पडला तर ती अशुद्ध समजून, तिचे तुकडे तुकडे करुन ती मोडून तोडून टाकावी, ती पुन्हा शुद्ध होणार नाही; म्हणून तुम्ही ती अशुद्ध समजावी.
36`Only — a fountain or pit, a collection of water, is clean, but that which is coming against their carcase is unclean;
36“झरा किंवा विहीर, ज्यांच्यात सतत पाणी असते ते शुद्धच राहतात; परंतु त्याच्यातील शवांना जो शिवेल तो अशुद्ध होईल.
37and when [any] of their carcase falleth on any sown seed which is sown — it [is] clean;
37त्याच्या शवाचा काही भाग पेरण्याच्या बियाणावर पडला तरी ते बियाणे शुद्ध समजावे;
38and when water is put on the seed, and [any] of its carcase hath fallen on it — unclean it [is] to you.
38परंतु जर बियाणे पाण्याने भिजल्यावर त्या प्राण्याच्या शवाचा काही भाग त्यांवर पडला तर ते तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे.
39`And when any of the beasts which are to you for food dieth, he who is coming against its carcase is unclean till the evening;
39“खाण्यास योग्य अशा प्राण्यांपैकी एखादा मेला आणि त्याच्या शवास कोणी शिवला तर त्याने संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध राहावे.
40and he who is eating of its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening; and he who is lifting up its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening.
40कोणी त्याच्या शवाचा काही भाग खाल्ला तर त्याने आपली वस्त्रे धुवावी व संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध राहावे; जो त्याचे शव उचलील त्यानेही आपली वस्त्रे धुवावी व संध्याकाळपर्यत अशुद्ध राहावे.
41`And every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth is an abomination, it is not eaten;
41“जमिनीवर रांगणारे सर्व प्राणी ओंगळ आहेत; परमेश्वराच्या सांगण्याप्रमाणे ते खाऊ नयेत.
42any thing going on the belly, and any going on four, unto every multiplier of feet, to every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth — ye do not eat them, for they [are] an abomination;
42जमिनीवर जे आपल्या पोटावर सरपटतात, किंवा चार पायावर चालतात, किंवा ज्यांना फार पाय आहेत असे सरपटणारे प्राणी तुम्ही खाऊ नयेत, कारण ते ओंगळ आहेत.
43ye do not make yourselves abominable with any teeming thing which is teeming, nor do ye make yourselves unclean with them, so that ye have been unclean thereby.
43कोणत्याही जातीच्या रांगणाऱ्या प्राण्यामुळे तुम्ही स्वत:ला अशुद्ध करुन घेऊ नका, किंवा त्यांच्यामुळे स्वत:ला अशुद्ध करुन विटाळवू नका!
44`For I [am] Jehovah your God, and ye have sanctified yourselves, and ye have been holy, for I [am] holy; and ye do not defile your persons with any teeming thing which is creeping on the earth;
44कारण मी परमेश्वर, तुमचा देव आहे! मी पवित्र आहे! म्हणून तुम्ही ही आपणांस पवित्र असे ठेवावे! म्हणून जमिनीवर रांगणाऱ्या कोणत्याही जातीच्या प्राण्यामुळे तुम्ही आपणास विटाळवू नका!
45for I [am] Jehovah who am bringing you up out of the land of Egypt to become your God; and ye have been holy, for I [am] holy.
45मी तुम्हाला मिसर देशातून यासाठी बाहेर आणले की तुम्ही माझे पवित्र लोक व्हावे व मी तुमचा देव असावे; मी पवित्र आहे म्हणून तुम्हीही पवित्र असावे!”
46`This [is] a law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature which is moving in the waters, and of every creature which is teeming on the earth,
46प्राणी, पक्षी, सर्व जलचर व जमिनीवर रांगणारे सर्व प्राणी ह्यांच्याविषयी हे नियम आहेत.
47to make separation between the unclean and the pure, and between the beast that is eaten, and the beast that is not eaten.`
47ह्या नियमावरुन शुद्ध प्राणी व अशुद्ध प्राणी तसेच खाण्यास योग्य असे प्राणी व जे खाऊ नयेत असे प्राणी ह्यांच्यातील भेद तुम्हांस समजावा.
