1The wicked have fled and there is no pursuer. And the righteous as a young lion is confident.
1वाईट लोकांना सगळ्याचीच भीती वाटते. कोणी त्यांचा पाठलाग करत नसले तरी ते दूर पळतात. पण चांगला माणूस सिंहासाखा शूर असतो.
2By the transgression of a land many [are] its heads. And by an intelligent man, Who knoweth right — it is prolonged.
2जर देशाने आज्ञा पाळायला नकार दिला तर तिथले बरेचसे वाईट नेते केवळ थोड्या काळापुरतेच राज्य करु शकतील. पण जर देशाला एकच शहाणा नेता असला तर देश खूप काळापर्यंत राहील.
3A man — poor and oppressing the weak, [Is] a sweeping rain, and there is no bread.
3राजाने जर गरीब लोकांवर संकटे आणली तर तो पीक उद्ध्वस्त करणाऱ्या जोरदार पावसासारखा असतो.
4Those forsaking the law praise the wicked, Those keeping the law plead against them.
4तुम्ही जर कायदा पाळायला नकार दिलात तर तुम्ही वाईट लोकांच्या बाजूचे होत. पण तुम्ही कायदा पाळलात तर तुम्ही त्यांच्या विरुध्द असता.
5Evil men understand not judgment, And those seeking Jehovah understand all.
5वाईट लोकांना न्याय कळत नाही. पण जे परमेश्वरावर प्रेम करतात त्यांना सर्वकाही कळते.
6Better [is] the poor walking in his integrity, Than the perverse of ways who is rich.
6गरीब असून प्रामाणिक असणे हे श्रीमंत असून वाईट असण्यापेक्षा चांगले असते.
7Whoso is keeping the law is an intelligent son, And a friend of gluttons, Doth cause his father to blush.
7जो माणूस कायद्याचे पालन करतो तो हुशार असतो. पण जो माणूस क्षुल्लक माणसांशी मैत्री करतो तो त्याच्या वडिलांना लाज आणतो.
8Whoso is multiplying his wealth by biting and usury, For one favouring the poor doth gather it.
8जर तुम्ही गरीबांना फसवून श्रीमंत झालात तर तुम्ही लवकरच संपत्ती गमवाल. जो माणूस त्यांच्याशी दयाळू असतो त्याच्याकडे ती जाईल.
9Whoso is turning his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer [is] an abomination.
9जर एखाद्याने देवाच्या शिकवणुकीकडे लक्ष द्यायला नकार दिला तर देव त्याची प्रार्थना ऐकायला नकार देईल.
10Whoso is causing the upright to err in an evil way, Into his own pit he doth fall, And the perfect do inherit good.
10वाईट माणूस चांगल्या माणसांना दु:ख देण्याच्या योजना आखतो. परंतु वाईट माणूस त्याच्याच जाळ्यात अडकेल आणि चांगल्या माणसाच्या बाबतीत चांगल्या घटना घडतील.
11A rich man is wise in his own eyes, And the intelligent poor searcheth him.
11श्रीमंत लोकांना नेहमी आपण खूप शहाणे आहोत असे वाटत असते. पण शहाणा असलेला गरीब माणूस खरे काय ते पाहू शकतो.
12In the exulting of the righteous the glory [is] abundant, And in the rising of the wicked man is apprehensive.
12चांगले लोक नेते बनले की सर्वजण आनंदी असतात. पण वाईट माणूस निवडून आला की सर्व लपून बसतात.
13Whoso is covering his transgressions prospereth not, And he who is confessing and forsaking hath mercy.
13माणसाने जर त्याची पापे लपवायचा प्रयत्न केला तर तो कधीही याशस्वी होणार नाही. पण जर त्याने त्याच्या पापांची कबुली दिली आणि लोकांना सांगितले की त्याचे चुकले तर देव आणि इतर लोक त्याला दया दाखवतील.
14O the happiness of a man fearing continually, And whoso is hardening his heart falleth into evil.
14जर एखाद्याने नेहमी परमेश्वराचा आदर केला तर त्याला आशीर्वाद मिळेल. पण जर तो हट्टी असला आणि त्याने परमेश्वराचा आदर करायला नकार दिला तर त्याच्यावर संकटे येतील.
15A growling lion, and a ranging bear, [Is] the wicked ruler over a poor people.
15दुष्ट माणूस जेव्हा दुबळ्या लोकांवर राज्य करतो तेव्हा तो रागावलेल्या सिंहासारखा किंवा अस्वलासारखा लढाईला तयार असतो.
16A leader lacking understanding multiplieth oppressions, Whoso is hating dishonest gain prolongeth days.
16जर राज्यकर्ता शहाणा नसला तर तो त्याच्या हाताखालच्या लोकांना दु:ख देतो. पण जर राज्यकर्ता प्रामाणिक असला आणि त्याला फसवणे आवडत नसले तर तो खूप काळपर्यंत राज्य करेल.
17A man oppressed with the blood of a soul, Unto the pit fleeth, none taketh hold on him.
17जर एखाद्याने कुणाला ठार मारण्याचा अपराध केला असेल. तर त्याला कधीही मन:शांती लाभणार नाही. त्या माणसाला कधीही आधार देऊ नका.
18Whoso is walking uprightly is saved, And the perverted of ways falleth at once.
18माणूस जर योग्य जीवन जगत असला तर तो सुरक्षित असेल. पण जर तो दुष्ट असेल तर तो त्याची शक्ती घालवून बसेल.
19Whoso is tilling his ground is satisfied [with] bread, And whoso is pursuing vanity, Is filled [with] poverty.
19जो माणूस खूप काम करतो त्याला भरपूर खायला मिळेल. पण जो स्वप्ने बघण्यात वेळ घालवतो तो गरीबच राहील.
20A stedfast man hath multiplied blessings, And whoso is hasting to be rich is not acquitted.
20जो देवाची भक्ती करतो त्याला देव आशीर्वाद देईल. पण जो माणूस फक्त श्रीमंत होण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो त्याला शिक्षा होईल.
21To discern faces is not good, And for a piece of bread doth a man transgress.
21न्यायाधीशाने नेहमी न्यायी असले पाहिजे. एखाद्याला तो चांगला ओळखतो म्हणून त्याला मदत करता कामा नये. पण काही न्यायाधीश थोड्याशा पैशांसाठी त्यांचे निर्णय बदलतात.
22Troubled for wealth [is] the man [with] an evil eye, And he knoweth not that want doth meet him.
22स्वार्थी माणसाला फक्त श्रीमंत व्हायचे असते. त्याला हे कळत नाही की तो गरीब होण्याच्या मार्गाला लागला आहे.
23Whoso is reproving a man afterwards findeth grace, More than a flatterer with the tongue.
23जर तुम्ही एखाद्याला तो चुकतो आहे असे सांगून मदत केलीत तर तो नंतर तुमच्याबद्दल आनंदी होईल. लोकांबरोबर नेहमी गोडगोड बोलण्यापेक्षा हे खूप चांगले.
24Whoso is robbing his father, or his mother, And is saying, `It is not transgression,` A companion he is to a destroyer.
24काही लोक त्यांच्या आई वडिलांची चोरी करतात. “ह्यात काही चूक नाही” असे ते म्हणतात. पण तो माणूस घरात येऊन सगळ्याचा नाश करणाऱ्या माणसाइतकाच दोषी आहे.
25Whoso is proud in soul stirreth up contention, And whoso is trusting on Jehovah is made fat.
25स्वार्थी. माणूस संकटे निर्माण करतो. पण जो परमेवरावर विश्वास ठेवतो त्याला बक्षीस मिळते.
26Whoso is trusting in his heart is a fool, And whoso is walking in wisdom is delivered.
26जर एखादा माणूस स्वत:वरच विश्वास ठेवेल तर तो मूर्ख आहे. पण जर तो शहाणा असेल तर तो संकटातून सुटेल.
27Whoso is giving to the poor hath no lack, And whoso is hiding his eyes multiplied curses.
27जर एखाद्याने गरीब लोकांना दिले तर त्याच्या सगळ्या गरजा पूर्ण होतील. पण जर एखाद्याने गरीबांना मदत करायला नकार दिला तर त्याच्यावर खूप संकटे येतील.
28In the rising of the wicked a man is hidden, And in their destruction the righteous multiply!
28दुष्ट माणूस जर राज्य करण्यासाठी निवडून आला तर लोक लपून बसतील. पण त्या दुष्टाचा जर पराभव झाला तर चांगले लोक पुन्हा राज्य करतील.
