¹To the Overseer. — By a servant of Jehovah, by David. The transgression of the wicked Is affirming within my heart, `Fear of God is not before his eyes,

¹वाईट माणूस जेव्हा असे म्हणतो “मी देवाला भिणार नाही, त्याला मान देणार नाही” तेव्हा तो फार वाईट गोष्ट करतो.

²For he made [it] smooth to himself in his eyes, To find his iniquity to be hated.

²तो माणूस स्वतशीच खोटे बोलतो त्याला स्वतच्या चुका दिसत नाहीत म्हणून तो क्षमेची याचना करीत नाही.

³The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit, He ceased to act prudently — to do good.

³त्याचे शब्द खोटे असतात त्यांना कवडीची किंमत असते तो शहाणा होत नाही किंवा सत्कृत्य करायला शिकत नाही.

⁴Iniquity he deviseth on his bed, He stationeth himself on a way not good, Evil he doth not refuse.`

⁴सर्व रात्रभर तो चुकीच्या किंवा वाईट गोष्टींच्या योजना आखतो. तो उठल्यावर काहीही चांगले करीत नाही. परंतु तो काही वाईट करायला नकारही देत नाही.

⁵O Jehovah, in the heavens [is] Thy kindness, Thy faithfulness [is] unto the clouds.

⁵परमेश्वरा, तुझे खरे प्रेम आकाशापेक्षाही उत्तुंग आहे. तुझी इमानदारी ढगांपेक्षा उंच आहे.

⁶Thy righteousness [is] as mountains of God, Thy judgments [are] a great deep. Man and beast Thou savest, O Jehovah.

⁶परमेश्वरा तुझा चांगुलपणा सर्वात उंचपर्वतापेक्षाही उंच आहे तुझा न्यायीपणा सर्वात खोल, समुद्रापेक्षाही खोल आहे. परमेश्वरा तू मनुष्याला आणि प्राण्यांना वाचवतोस.

⁷How precious [is] Thy kindness, O God, And the sons of men In the shadow of Thy wings do trust.

⁷तुझा प्रेमळ दयाळूपणा सगळ्यांत किंमती आहे. माणसे आणि देवदूत तुझ्याकडे संरक्षणासाठी येतात.

⁸They are filled from the fatness of Thy house, And the stream of Thy delights Thou dost cause them to drink.

⁸परमेश्वरा तुझ्या घरातल्या चांगल्या वस्तूंमुळे त्यांना नवा जोम येतो. तू त्यांना तुझ्या अद्भुत नदीतून मनसोक्त पिऊ देतोस.

⁹For with Thee [is] a fountain of life, In Thy light we see light.

⁹परमेश्वरा जीवनाचे कारंजे तुझ्यातून उडते. तुझा प्रकाश आम्हाला प्रकाश दाखवतो.

¹⁰Draw out Thy kindness to those knowing Thee, And Thy righteousness to the upright of heart.

¹⁰परमेश्वरा जे तुला खरोखरच ओळखतात त्यांच्यावर प्रेम करणे तू चालूच ठेव. जे लोक तुझ्याशी प्रामाणिक आहेत त्यांच्यासाठी तुझा चांगुलपणा असू दे.

¹¹Let not a foot of pride meet me, And a hand of the wicked let not move me.

¹¹परमेश्वरा गर्विष्ठ लोकांना मला सापळ्यात अडकवू देऊ नकोस. वाईट लोकांना मला पकडू देऊ नकोस.

¹²There have workers of iniquity fallen, They have been overthrown, And have not been able to arise!

¹²त्याच्यां थडग्यावर “हथे वाईट लोक पडले, त्यांना चिरडण्यात आले, ते आता पुन्हा कधीही उभे राहू शकणार नाहीत.” असे लिहून ठेव.
