1To the Overseer. — By sons of Korah. An Instruction. O God, with our ears we have heard, Our fathers have recounted to us, The work Thou didst work in their days, In the days of old.
1देवा, आम्ही तुझ्याबद्दल ऐकले आहे. आमच्या वडिलांनी तू त्यांच्या आयुष्यात काय केलेस ते सांगितले, खूप पूर्वी तू काय केलेस तेही त्यांनी सांगितले.
2Thou, [with] Thy hand, nations hast dispossessed. And Thou dost plant them. Thou afflictest peoples, and sendest them away.
2देवा, तू तुझ्या सर्व शक्तीने हा देश इतर लोकांपासून घेतलास आणि तो आम्हाला दिलास तू त्या परदेशी माणसांना चिरडलेस तू त्यांना हा देश सोडायला भाग पाडलेस.
3For, not by their sword Possessed they the land, And their arm gave not salvation to them, But Thy right hand, and Thine arm, And the light of Thy countenance, Because Thou hadst accepted them.
3हा देश आमच्या वडिलांच्या तलवारीने मिळवलेला नाही. त्यांच्या कणखर बाहूंनी त्यांना विजयी केले नाही. हे घडले कारण तू त्यांच्या बरोबर होतास. देवा तुझ्या पराक्रमी शक्तीमुळे आमचे वाडवडील वाचले का? कारण तू त्यांच्यावर प्रेम केलेस.
4Thou [art] He, my king, O God, Command the deliverances of Jacob.
4देवा, तू माझा राजा आहेस आज्ञा द आणि याकोबाच्या माणसांना विजयाप्रत ने.
5By Thee our adversaries we do push, By Thy name tread down our withstanders,
5देवा, तुझ्या मदतीने आम्ही शत्रूला मागे रेटू. तुझ्या नावाने आम्ही आमच्या शत्रूवर चालून जाऊ.
6For, not in my bow do I trust, And my sword doth not save me.
6माझ्या धनुष्यबाणांवर माझा विश्वास नाही. माझी तलवार मला वाचवू शकणार नाही.
7For Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, And those hating us Thou hast put to shame.
7देवा, तू आम्हाला मिसर पासून वाचवलेस. तू आमच्या शत्रूंना लाजवले आहेस.
8In God we have boasted all the day, And Thy name to the age we thank. Selah.
8आम्ही रोज देवाची स्तुती करु आम्ही तुझ्या नावाची सदैव स्तुती करत राहू.
9In anger Thou hast cast off and causest us to blush, And goest not forth with our hosts.
9परंतु देवा, तू आम्हाला सोडून गेलास. तू आम्हाला अडचणीत टाकलेस तू आमच्याबरोबर लढाईत आला नाहीस.
10Thou causest us to turn backward from an adversary, And those hating us, Have spoiled for themselves.
10तू आमच्या शत्रूंना आम्हाला मागे रेटू दिलेस. शत्रूंनी आमची संपत्ती घेतली.
11Thou makest us food like sheep, And among nations Thou hast scattered us.
11तू आम्हाला मेंढ्यासारखे खायचे अन्न म्हणून देऊन टाकले. तू आम्हाला राष्ट्रांमध्ये इतस्तता विखरुन टाकले.
12Thou sellest Thy people — without wealth, And hast not become great by their price.
12देवा, तू आम्हाला कवडीमोलाने विकलेस. तू किंमतीसाठी घासाघीस देखील केली नाहीस.
13Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and a reproach to our surrounders.
13तू शेजाऱ्यांमध्ये आमचे हसे केलेस. आमचे शेजारी आम्हाला हसतात. ते आमची मस्करी करतात.
14Thou makest us a simile among nations, A shaking of the head among peoples.
14आम्ही म्हणजे लोकांनी सांगितलेली हसवणूक आहोत, ज्यांना स्वत चा देश नाही असे लोकही आम्हाला हसतात आणि मान हलवतात.
15All the day my confusion [is] before me, And the shame of my face hath covered me.
15मी लाजेने वेढला गेलो आहे. दिवसभर मला माझी लाज दिसते.
16Because of the voice of a reproacher and reviler, Because of an enemy and a self-avenger.
16माझ्या शत्रूंनी मला अडचणीत आणले माझे शत्रू माझी चेष्टा करुन जशास तसे वागायचा प्रयत्न करतात.
17All this met us, and we did not forget Thee, Nor have we dealt falsely in Thy covenant.
17देवा, आम्ही तुला विसरलो नाही तरीही तू आम्हाला या सगळ्या गोष्टी करतोस आम्ही तुझ्याबरोबर केलेल्या करारनाम्यावर सही केली तेव्हा खोटे बोललो नाही.
18We turn not backward our heart, Nor turn aside doth our step from Thy path.
18देवा, आम्ही तुझ्यापासून दूर गेलो नाही. आम्ही तुझा मार्ग चोखाळणे बंद केले नाही.
19But Thou hast smitten us in a place of dragons, And dost cover us over with death-shade.
19परंतु देवा, तू आम्हाला कोल्हे राहातात त्या जागेत चिरडलेस, मृत्यूसारख्या अंधाऱ्याजागेत तू आम्हाला झाकलेस.
20If we have forgotten the name of our God, And spread our hands to a strange God,
20आम्ही आमच्या देवाचे नाव विसरलो का? आम्ही परक्या देवाची प्रार्थना केली का? नाही.
21Doth not God search out this? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
21देवाला खरोखरच या गोष्टी माहीत असतात. त्याला आपल्या ह्दयातल्या अगदी आतल्या गुप्त गोष्टीही माहीत असतात.
22Surely, for Thy sake we have been slain all the day, Reckoned as sheep of the slaughter.
22देवा आम्ही रोज तुझ्यासाठी मारले जात आहोत. मारण्यासाठी नेल्या जाणाऱ्या मेंढ्यांप्रमाणे आम्ही आहोत.
23Stir up — why dost Thou sleep, O Lord? Awake, cast us not off for ever.
23प्रभु, ऊठ तू का झोपला आहेस? ऊठ आम्हाला कायमचा सोडून जाऊ नकोस.
24Why Thy face hidest Thou? Thou forgettest our afflictions and our oppression,
24देवा, तू आमच्यापासून लपून का राहात आहेस? तू आमची दु:ख आणि संकट विसरलास का?
25For bowed to the dust hath our soul, Cleaved to the earth hath our belly.
25तू आम्हाला घाणीत ढकलून दिले आहेस आम्ही धुळीत पोटावर पडलो आहोत.
26Arise, a help to us, And ransom us for thy kindness` sake.
26देवा, ऊठ! आम्हाला मदत कर. मेहेरबानी करुन आम्हाला वाचव.
