1An Instruction of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law, Incline your ear to sayings of my mouth.
1लोकहो! माझी शिकवण ऐका, मी काय सांगतो ते ऐका!
2I open with a simile my mouth, I bring forth hidden things of old,
2मी तुम्हांला ही गोष्ट सांगेन. मी तुम्हांला ही जुनी गोष्ट सांगेन.
3That we have heard and do know, And our fathers have recounted to us.
3आम्ही ती गोष्ट ऐकली आणि आम्हाला ती चांगली माहीत आहे. आमच्या वाडवडिलांनी आम्हाला ती गोष्ट सांगितली होती.
4We do not hide from their sons, To a later generation recounting praises of Jehovah, And His strength, and His wonders that He hath done.
4आणि आम्ही ती विसरणार नाही. आमचे लोक शेवटच्या पिढीपर्यंत ती गोष्ट सांगत राहातील. आम्ही परमेश्वराची स्तुती करु आणि त्याने केलेल्या अद्भुत गोष्टीबद्दल सांगत राहू.
5And He raiseth up a testimony in Jacob, And a law hath placed in Israel, That He commanded our fathers, To make them known to their sons.
5परमेश्वराने याकोबा बरोबर करार केला. देवाने इस्राएलला कायदा दिला. देवाने आमच्या पूर्वजांना आज्ञा दिल्या. त्याने आमच्या पूर्वजांना त्यांच्या वंशजांना नियम शिकवायला सांगितला.
6So that a later generation doth know, Sons who are born, do rise and recount to their sons,
6नवीन मुले जन्माला येतील, तीच पुढे मोठी होतील आणि ती त्यांच्या मुलांना गोष्टी सांगतील या प्रमाणे लोकांना अगदी शेवटच्या पिढीपर्यंत नियम समजेल.
7And place in God their confidence, And forget not the doings of God, But keep His commands.
7म्हणून ते सगळे लोक देवावर विश्वास ठेवतील. देवाने जे केले ते ते विसरणार नाहीत. ते अत्यंत सावधगिरीने त्याच्या आज्ञा पाळतील.
8And they are not like their fathers, A generation apostate and rebellious, A generation! it hath not prepared its heart, Nor stedfast with God [is] its spirit.
8जर लोकांनी त्यांच्या देवाच्या आज्ञा त्यांच्या मुलांना शिकविल्या तर ती मुले त्यांच्या पूर्वजांसारखी होणार नाहीत. त्यांचे पूर्वज देवाविरुध्द गेले. त्यानी देवाच्या आज्ञा पाळायचे नाकारले. ते लोक फार हट्ी होते ते देवाच्या आत्म्याशी प्रामाणिक नव्हते.
9Sons of Ephraim — armed bearers of bow, Have turned in a day of conflict.
9एफ्राइमच्या लोकांजवळ शस्त्रे होती. परंतु ते रणांगणावरुन पळून गेले.
10They have not kept the covenant of God, And in His law they have refused to walk,
10त्यांनी देवाबरोबर झालेला त्यांचा करार पाळला नाही. त्यांनी त्याची शिकवण आचरायला नकार दिला.
11And they forget His doings, And His wonders that He shewed them.
11एफ्राईमचे लोक देवाने केलेल्या महान गोष्टी विसरले. देवाने दाखवलेल्या अद्भुत गोष्टी ते विसरले.
12Before their fathers He hath done wonders, In the land of Egypt — the field of Zoan.
12मिसर देशातल्या सोअन प्रांतात देवाने त्यांच्या वाडवडिलांना त्याची महान शक्ती दाखवली.
13He cleft a sea, and causeth them to pass over, Yea, He causeth waters to stand as a heap.
13देवाने लाल समुद्र दुभंगला आणि लोकांना पलिकडे नेले. पाणी एखाद्या भिंतीसारखे त्यांच्या दोन्ही बाजूला उभे होते.
14And leadeth them with a cloud by day, And all the night with a light of fire.
14देव रोज त्यांना उंच मेघाच्या साहायाने दिवसा व रात्री अग्रीच्या प्रकाशात मार्ग दाखवीत नेत असे.
15He cleaveth rocks in a wilderness, And giveth drink — as the great deep.
15देवाने वाळवंटात पाषाण फोडला त्याने लोकांना पृथ्वीच्या गर्भातून पाणी दिले.
16And bringeth out streams from a rock, And causeth waters to come down as rivers.
16देवाने खडकातून नदीसारखे खळखळणारे पाणी बाहेर आणले.
17And they add still to sin against Him, To provoke the Most High in the dry place.
17परंतु लोकांनी देवाविरुध्द पाप करणे चालूच ठेवले. ते वाळवंटात सुध्दा सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वराच्या विरुध्द गेले.
18And they try God in their heart, To ask food for their lust.
18नंतर त्या लोकांनी देवाची परीक्षा घ्यायचे ठरवले. त्यांनी त्यांची भूक भागवण्यासाठी देवाकडे अन्नाची मागणी केली.
19And they speak against God — they said: `Is God able to array a table in a wilderness?`
19त्यांनी देवाविरुध्द तक्रारी केल्या. ते म्हणाले, “देव आम्हांला वाळवंटात अन्न देऊ शकेल का?
20Lo, He hath smitten a rock, And waters flow, yea, streams overflow. `Also — bread [is] He able to give? Doth He prepare flesh for His people?`
20त्याने दगडाला प्रहार केला आणि त्यातून पुरासारखे पाणी बाहेर येऊ लागले तो आम्हांला भाकरी आणि मांस नक्च देईल.”
21Therefore hath Jehovah heard, And He sheweth Himself wroth, And fire hath been kindled against Jacob, And anger also hath gone up against Israel,
21त्या लोकांनी म्हटलेले परमेश्वराने ऐकले. देव याकोबावर फार रागावला देव इस्राएलवर फार रागावला.
22For they have not believed in God, Nor have they trusted in His salvation.
22का? कारण लोकांनी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला नाही. देव त्यांना वाचवील यावर त्यांनी विश्वास ठेवला नाही.
23And He commandeth clouds from above, Yea, doors of the heavens He hath opened.

24And He raineth on them manna to eat, Yea, corn of heaven He hath given to them.

25Food of the mighty hath each eaten, Venison He sent to them to satiety.
25लोकांनी देवदूताचे अन्न खाल्ले. देवाने त्यांचे समाधान करण्यासाठी भरपूर अन्न पाठवले.
26He causeth an east wind to journey in the heavens, And leadeth by His strength a south wind,

27And He raineth on them flesh as dust, And as sand of the seas — winged fowl,

28And causeth [it] to fall in the midst of His camp, Round about His tabernacles.
28ते पक्षी छावणीच्या अगदी मध्य भागी, त्या लोकांच्या तंबूच्या अवती भोवती पडले.
29And they eat, and are greatly satisfied, And their desire He bringeth to them.
29त्यांच्याकडे भरपूर खायला होते परंतु त्यांनी त्यांच्या भुकेलाच पाप करायला लावले.
30They have not been estranged from their desire, Yet [is] their food in their mouth,
30त्यांना त्यांची भूक आवरली नाही, म्हणून त्यांनी ते पक्षी रक्त काढल्याशिवायच खाल्ले.
31And the anger of God hath gone up against them, And He slayeth among their fat ones, And youths of Israel He caused to bend.
31देव त्यांच्यावर खूप रागावला आणि त्याने त्यांतल्या अनेकांना मारुन टाकले. त्यातल्या अनेक निरोगी तरुण माणसांना देवाने मारले.
32With all this they have sinned again, And have not believed in His wonders.
32परंतु लोकांनी पुन्हा पाप केले. देव ज्या अद्भुत गोष्टी करतो त्यांवर ते अवलंबून राहिले नाहीत.
33And He consumeth in vanity their days, And their years in trouble.
33म्हणून देवाने त्यांचे कवडी मोलाचे आयुष्य भयानक संकटात संपवले.
34If He slew them, then they sought Him, And turned back, and sought God earnestly,
34देवाने जेव्हा जेव्हा त्यातल्या काहींना ठार मारले तेव्हा तेव्हा उरलेले लोक पुन्हा त्याच्याकडे वळले. ते देवाकडे धावत परतले.
35And they remember that God [is] their rock, And God Most High their redeemer.
35देव त्यांचा खडक आहे याची आठवण त्यांना आली. सर्वशक्तिमान देवाने त्यांना वाचवले याची त्यांना आठवण झाली.
36And — they deceive Him with their mouth, And with their tongue do lie to Him,
36आपण देवावर प्रेम करतो असे ते म्हणाले परंतु ते खोटे बोलले, ते मनापासून बोलत नव्हते.
37And their heart hath not been right with Him, And they have not been stedfast in His covenant.
37त्यांचे मन खरोखरच देवाजवळ नव्हते. ते कराराशी प्रामाणिक नव्हते.
38And He — the Merciful One, Pardoneth iniquity, and destroyeth not, And hath often turned back His anger, And waketh not up all His fury.
38परंतु देव दयाळू होता. देवाने त्यांना त्यांच्या पापांबद्दल क्षमा केली आणि त्याने त्यांचा नाश केला नाही. देवाने अनेक वेळा स्व:तचा राग आवरला. त्याने स्व:तला खूप राग येऊ दिला नाही.
39And He remembereth that they [are] flesh, A wind going on — and it returneth not.
39ती केवळ माणसेच आहेत याची देवाने आठवण ठेवली. लोक वाऱ्याप्रमाणे आहेत. तो वाहातो आणि ओसरतो.
40How often do they provoke Him in the wilderness, Grieve Him in the desolate place?
40त्या लोकांनी वाळवंटात देवाला अनेक संकटांत टाकले त्यांनी त्याला खूप दु:खी केले.
41Yea, they turn back, and try God, And the Holy One of Israel have limited.
41मग लोकांनी पुन्हा पुन्हा देवाच्या सहनशक्तीची परीक्षा घेतली, त्यांनी इस्राएलाच्या पवित्र परमेश्वराला खूप दु:ख दिले.
42They have not remembered His hand The day He ransomed them from the adversary.
42ते लोक देवाची शक्ती विसरले. देवाने त्यांचा किती वेळा त्यांच्या शत्रूंपासून बचाव केला हे ते विसरले.
43When He set His signs in Egypt, And His wonders in the field of Zoan,
43मिसर देशातल्या चमत्कारा बाबत ते विसरले. सीअन प्रांतातला चमत्कारही ते विसरले.
44And He turneth to blood their streams, And their floods they drink not.
44देवाने नद्यांचे रक्तात रुपांतर केले. मिसरमधले लोक पाणी पिऊ शकले नाहीत.
45He sendeth among them the beetle, and it consumeth them, And the frog, and it destroyeth them,
45देवाने चावणाऱ्या माशांचे थवे पाठवले. ते मिसरमधल्या लोकांना चावले, देवाने बेडूक पाठवले. त्यांनी मिसरमधल्या लोकांच्या आयुष्याचा नाश केला.
46And giveth to the caterpillar their increase, And their labour to the locust.
46देवाने त्यांची पिके नाकतोड्यांच्या हवाली केली आणि इतर झाडांवर टोळ धाड पाठवली.
47He destroyeth with hail their vine, And their sycamores with frost,
47देवाने त्यांच्या द्राक्षवेलींचा नाश करण्यासाठी गारांचा पाऊस पाडला आणि झाडांचा नाश करण्यासाठी त्याने बफर्ाचा उपयोग केला.
48And delivereth up to the hail their beasts, And their cattle to the burning flames.
48देवाने गारांच्या वर्षावाने त्यांच्या प्राण्यांचा नाश केला आणि त्यांच्या पशुधनावर त्याने वीज पाडली.
49He sendeth on them the fury of His anger, Wrath, and indignation, and distress — A discharge of evil messengers.
49देवाने मिसरच्या लोकांना आपला राग दाखवला. त्याने त्याचे विध्वंसक दूत त्यांच्याविरुध्द पाठवले.
50He pondereth a path for His anger, He kept not back their soul from death, Yea, their life to the pestilence He delivered up.
50देवाने आपला राग व्यक्त करण्यासाठी एक मार्ग शोधला. त्याने त्या लोकांपैकी कुणालाही जगू दिले नाही. त्याने त्यांना एका भयंकर रोगाचे बळी केले.
51And He smiteth every first-born in Egypt, The first-fruit of the strong in tents of Ham.
51देवाने मिसरमध्ये जन्मलेल्या सर्व पहिल्या मुलांना मारुन टाकले. त्याने हाम कुटुंबात जन्मलेल्या पहिल्या मुलांनाही मारले.
52And causeth His people to journey as a flock, And guideth them as a drove in a wilderness,
52नंतर देवाने इस्राएलला मेंढपाळा सारखे नेले. त्याने त्याच्या लोकांना मेंढ्यासारखे वाळवंटात नेले.
53And He leadeth them confidently, And they have not been afraid, And their enemies hath the sea covered.
53त्याने त्याच्या माणसांना काळजीपूर्वक मार्गदर्शन केले देवाच्या माणसांना कशाचीच भीती वाटली नाही. देवाने त्यांच्या शत्रूंना लाल समुद्रात बुडविले.
54And He bringeth them in unto the border of His sanctuary, This mountain His right hand had got,
54देवाने त्याच्या माणसांना त्याच्या पवित्र देशात त्याने त्याच्या सामर्थ्याने घेतलेल्या डोंगरावर नेले.
55And casteth out nations from before them, And causeth them to fall in the line of inheritance, And causeth the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents,
55देवाने इतर देशांना ती जमीन सोडून जायला भाग पाडले. देवाने प्रत्येक कुटुंबाला जमिनीचा त्यांचा हिस्सा दिला. देवाने इस्राएलाच्या प्रत्येक कुटुंबाला राहायला स्व:तचे घर दिले.
56And they tempt and provoke God Most High, And His testimonies have not kept.
56परंतु त्यांनी सर्वशक्तिमान देवाची परीक्षा घेतली आणि त्याचे त्याला खूप वाईट वाटले. त्या लोकांनी देवाच्या आज्ञा पाळल्या नाहीत.
57And they turn back, And deal treacherously like their fathers, They have been turned like a deceitful bow,
57इस्राएलाच्या लोकांनी देवाकडे पाठ फिरवली. जसे त्याचे पूर्वज त्याच्याविरुध्द गेले तसेच ते त्याच्या विरुध्द गेले. ते वाकवलेल्या धनुष्याप्रमाणे अतिशय वाईट होते.
58And make Him angry with their high places, And with their graven images make Him zealous,
58इस्राएलाच्या लोकांनी प्रार्थनेसाठी उंच जागा बांधल्या आणि देवाला क्रोधित केले. त्यांनी चुकीच्या देवाचे पुतळे केले आणि देवाला असूया आणली.
59God hath heard, and sheweth Himself wroth. And kicketh exceedingly against Israel.
59देवाने हे ऐकले आणि तो खूप रागावला, देवाने इस्राएलला पूर्णपणे झिडकारले.
60And He leaveth the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent He had placed among men,
60देवाने शिलोहचा पवित्र तंबू सोडून दिला. देव लोकांच्या बरोबर त्यांच्या तंबूत राहिला.
61And He giveth His strength to captivity, And His beauty into the hand of an adversary,
61देवाने इतर देशांना त्याच्या माणसांना पकडू दिले. शत्रूनी देवाचे “सुंदर रत्न” घेतले.
62And delivereth up to the sword His people, And with His inheritance shewed Himself angry.
62देवाने त्याच्या माणसांवरचा त्याचा राग व्यक्त केला, त्याने त्यांना युध्दात मरु दिले.
63His young men hath fire consumed, And His virgins have not been praised.
63तरुण माणसे जळून मेली आणि ज्या मुलींशी ते लग्र करणार होते त्यांनी विवाहाची गाणी म्हटली नाहीत.
64His priests by the sword have fallen, And their widows weep not.
64याजक मारले गेले पण विधवा त्यांच्यासाठी रडल्या नाहीत.
65And the Lord waketh as a sleeper, As a mighty one crying aloud from wine.
65शेवटी आमचा प्रभु झोपेतून उठलेल्या माणसासारखा, खूप द्राक्षारस प्यायलेल्या सैनिकासारखा उठला.
66And He smiteth His adversaries backward, A reproach age-during He hath put on them,
66देवाने त्याच्या शत्रूंना माघार घ्यायला भाग पाडले आणि त्यांचा पराभव केला. देवाने त्याच्या शत्रूचा पराभव केला आणि त्यांना कायमची नामुष्की आणली.
67And He kicketh against the tent of Joseph, And on the tribe of Ephraim hath not fixed.
67परंतु देवाने योसेफाच्या कुटुंबाला झिडकारले, देवाने एफ्राईमच्या कुटुंबाचा स्वीकार केला नाही.
68And He chooseth the tribe of Judah, With mount Zion that He loved,
68नाही, देवाने यहुदाच्या कुटुंबाला निवडले, देवाने त्याच्या आवडत्या सियोन पर्वताची निवड केली.
69And buildeth His sanctuary as a high place, Like the earth, He founded it to the age.
69देवाने त्याचे पवित्र मंदिर उंच पर्वतावर बांधले. देवाने त्याचे मंदिर पृथ्वीसारखे कायमचे राहील असे बांधले.
70And He fixeth on David His servant, And taketh him from the folds of a flock,
70देवाने दावीदला स्व:तचा खास सेवक म्हणून निवडले. दावीद मेंढ्यांच्या वाड्यांचे रक्षण करीत होता. परंतु देवाने त्याला त्याच्या कामापासून दूर नेले.
71From behind suckling ones He hath brought him in, To rule over Jacob His people, And over Israel His inheritance.
71दावीद मेंढ्यांची काळजी घेत होता. परंतु देवाने त्याला त्या कामापासून दूर नेले. देवाने दावीदला त्याच्या माणसांकडे, याकोबाच्या माणसांकडे, इस्राएलाच्या माणसांकडे आणि देवाच्या मालमत्तेकडे लक्ष देण्याचे काम करायला सांगितले.
72And he ruleth them according to the integrity of his heart, And by the skilfulness of his hands leadeth them!
72आणि दावीदने त्यांना शुध्द मनाने मार्ग दाखवला, त्याने त्याना शहाणपणाने मार्ग दाखवला.
