¹`I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman;

¹ငါသည် မှန်သောစပျစ်နွယ်ပင်ဖြစ်၏။ ငါ့ခမည်းတော်သည်လည်း ဥယျာဉ်စောင့်ဖြစ်တော်မူ၏။

²every branch in me not bearing fruit, He doth take it away, and every one bearing fruit, He doth cleanse by pruning it, that it may bear more fruit;

²ငါ၌အသီးမသီးသောအခက်ရှိသမျှတို့ကို ခုတ်ပစ်တော်မူ၏။ အသီးသီးသောအခက်ရှိသမျှတို့ကို သာ၍ သီးစေခြင်းငှါ သုတ်သင်ရှင်းလင်းတော်မူ၏။

³already ye are clean, because of the word that I have spoken to you;

³သင်တို့သည် ငါဟောပြောသောစကားအားဖြင့် ယခုပင်ရှင်းလင်းလျက်ရှိကြ၏။

⁴remain in me, and I in you, as the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself, if it may not remain in the vine, so neither ye, if ye may not remain in me.

⁴ငါ၌တည်နေကြလော့။ ငါသည်လည်း သင်တို့၌တည်နေမည်။ စပျစ်ခက်သည် အပင်၌မတည်လျှင်၊ ကိုယ်အလိုအလျောက် အသီးမသီးနိုင်သကဲ့သို့၊ သင်တို့သည် ငါ၌မတည်လျှင် အသီးမသီးနိုင်ကြ။

⁵`I am the vine, ye the branches; he who is remaining in me, and I in him, this one doth bear much fruit, because apart from me ye are not able to do anything;

⁵ငါသည် စပျစ်နွယ်ပင်ဖြစ်၏။ သင်တို့သည်အခက်များဖြစ်ကြ၏။ အကြင်သူသည် ငါ၌တည်၍ ငါသည် လည်းသူ့၌တည်၏၊ ထိုသူသည် များစွာသောအသီးကိုသီးတတ်၏။ ငါနှင့်ကွာလျှင် သင်တို့သည် အဘယ်အမှု ကိုမျှ မတတ်နိုင်ကြ။

⁶if any one may not remain in me, he was cast forth without as the branch, and was withered, and they gather them, and cast to fire, and they are burned;

⁶ငါ၌ မတည်သောသူသည် သွေ့ခြောက်သောအခက်ကဲ့သို့ ပြင်သို့ပစ်လိုက်ခြင်းကိုခံရ၏။ ထိုသို့သော အခက်များကို လူတို့သည်စုသိမ်း၍ မီးထဲသို့ ချလိုက်ကြသဖြင့် မီးလောင်ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။

⁷if ye may remain in me, and my sayings in you may remain, whatever ye may wish ye shall ask, and it shall be done to you.

⁷သင်တို့သည် ငါ၌တည်၍ ငါ့စကားသည်သင်တို့၌တည်လျှင်၊ သင်တို့သည်တောင်းချင်သမျှကို တောင်း ၍ရကြလိမ့်မည်။

⁸`In this was my Father glorified, that ye may bear much fruit, and ye shall become my disciples.

⁸သင်တို့သည် များစွာသောအသီးကိုသီးသောအားဖြင့်၊ ငါ့ခမည်းတော်သည် ဘုန်းထင်ရှားတော်မူ၍၊ သင်တို့သည်လည်း ငါ၏တပည့်မှန်ကြလိမ့်မည်။

⁹According as the Father did love me, I also loved you, remain in my love;

⁹ခမည်းတော်သည် ငါ့ကိုချစ်တော်မူသကဲ့သို့ ငါသည်သင်တို့ကိုချစ်၏။ ငါ၏ချစ်ခြင်းမေတ္တာ၌ တည်နေ ကြလော့။

¹⁰if my commandments ye may keep, ye shall remain in my love, according as I the commands of my Father have kept, and do remain in His love;

¹⁰ငါသည် ငါ့ခမည်းတော်၏ပညတ်တို့ကို စောင့်ရှောက်၍ ခမည်းတော်၏မေတ္တာ၌ တည်နေသကဲ့သို့၊ သင်တို့သည် ငါ့ပညတ်တို့ကို စောင့်ရှောက်လျှင်၊ ငါ့မေတ္တာ၌ တည်နေကြလိမ့်မည်။

¹¹these things I have spoken to you, that my joy in you may remain, and your joy may be full.

¹¹သင်တို့၌ ငါဝမ်းမြောက်စရာအကြောင်း တည်စေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ သင်တို့ ဝမ်းမြောက်စရာအကြောင်း စုံလင်စေခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ ဤစကားကို သင်တို့အားငါဟောပြော၏။

¹²`This is my command, that ye love one another, according as I did love you;

¹²ငါ့ပညတ်ဟူမူကား၊ ငါသည် သင်တို့ကိုချစ်သည်နည်းတူ၊ သင်တို့သည် အချင်းချင်းချစ်ကြလော့။

¹³greater love than this hath no one, that any one his life may lay down for his friends;

¹³ကိုယ်အဆွေတို့အဘို့အလိုငှါ ကိုယ်အသက်ကိုစွန့်ခြင်းမေတ္တာထက်သာ၍ မြတ်သောမေတ္တာသည် အဘယ်သူ၌မျှမရှိ။

¹⁴ye are my friends, if ye may do whatever I command you;

¹⁴သင်တို့သည် ငါပညတ်သမျှတို့ကို ကျင့်ဆောင်လျှင် ငါ၏အဆွေဖြစ်ကြ၏။

¹⁵no more do I call you servants, because the servant hath not known what his lord doth, and you I have called friends, because all things that I heard from my Father, I did make known to you.

¹⁵ယခုမှစ၍ ငါသည်သင်တို့ကို ကျွန်ဟူ၍မခေါ်။ ကျွန်မူကား၊ ကိုယ်သခင်ပြုသောအမှုကိုမသိ။ သင် တို့ကို အဆွေဟူ၍ငါခေါ်၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ငါသည် ခမည်းတော်ထံ၌ ကြားသမျှသောအရာတို့ကို သင်တို့ အား ငါပြသ၏။

¹⁶`Ye did not choose out me, but I chose out you, and did appoint you, that ye might go away, and might bear fruit, and your fruit might remain, that whatever ye may ask of the Father in my name, He may give you.

¹⁶သင်တို့သည် ငါ့ကိုရွေးကောက်ကြသည်မဟုတ်။ ငါသည် သင်တို့ကို ရွေးကောက်သဖြင့်၊ သင်တို့သည် သွား၍ တည်ကြည်သောအသီးကိုသီးမည်အကြောင်းနှင့် ငါ့နာမကိုအမှီပြု၍ ခမည်းတော်မှာတောင်းသမျှတို့ကို ရမည်အကြောင်း သင်တို့ကို ငါခန့်ထား၏။

¹⁷`These things I command you, that ye love one another;

¹⁷သင်တို့သည် အချင်းချင်းချစ်စေခြင်းငှါ ဤပညတ်တို့ကို ငါပေး၏။

¹⁸if the world doth hate you, ye know that it hath hated me before you;

¹⁸လောကီသားတို့သည် သင်တို့ကိုမုန်းလျှင်၊ သင်တို့ကို မမုန်းမှီ ငါ့ကိုမုန်းကြသည်ကို သိမှတ်ကြလော့။

¹⁹if of the world ye were, the world its own would have been loving, and because of the world ye are not — but I chose out of the world — because of this the world hateth you.

¹⁹သင်တို့သည် လောကီနှင့်ဆက်ဆံလျှင်၊ လောကီသားတို့သည် မိမိတို့နှင့်ဆက်ဆံသော သင်တို့ကို ချစ် ကြလိမ့်မည်။ သင်တို့သည် လောကီနှင့်မဆက်ဆံ၊ လောကီထဲက ငါရွေးကောက်သောသူဖြစ်သောကြောင့်၊ လောကီသားတို့သည် သင်တို့ကိုမုန်းကြ၏။

²⁰`Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his lord; if me they did persecute, you also they will persecute; if my word they did keep, yours also they will keep;

²⁰ကျွန်သည် မိမိသခင်ထက်သာ၍ ကြီးမြတ်သည်မဟုတ်ဟု ငါပြောခဲ့ပြီးသောစကားကို အောက်မေ့ကြ လော့။ သူတို့သည်ငါ့ကိုညှဉ်းဆဲလျှင် သင်တို့ကို ညှဉ်းဆဲကြလိမ့်မည်။ ငါ့စကားကိုနားထောင်လျှင် သင်တို့၏ စကားကို နားထောင်ကြလိမ့်မည်။

²¹but all these things will they do to you, because of my name, because they have not known Him who sent me;

²¹ထိုသူတို့သည် ငါ့ကိုစေလွှတ်တော်မူသောသူကို မသိသည်ဖြစ်၍၊ ငါ၏နာမကြောင့် သင်တို့အား ထို အမှုရှိသမျှတို့ကို ပြုကြလိမ့်မည်။

²²if I had not come and spoken to them, they were not having sin; but now pretext they have not for their sin.

²²ငါသည် လာ၍ထိုသူတို့အား မဟောမပြောလျှင် သူတို့၌အပြစ်မရှိ။ ယခုမူကား၊ မိမိတို့အပြစ်ကို ဝှက် ၍ မထားနိုင်ကြ။

²³`He who is hating me, doth hate also my Father;

²³ငါ့ကို မုန်းသောသူသည် ငါ့ခမည်းတော်ကိုမုန်း၏။

²⁴if I did not do among them the works that no other hath done, they were not having sin, and now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father;

²⁴ငါသည် အခြားသူမပြုဘူးသောအမှုကို ထိုသူတို့ရှေ့မှာမပြုလျှင် သူတို့၌အပြစ်မရှိ။ ယခုမူကား၊ သူတို့သည် ထိုအမှုကိုမြင်ရ၍ ငါနှင့်ငါ့ခမည်းတော်ကိုမုန်းကြ၏။

²⁵but — that the word may be fulfilled that was written in their law — They hated me without a cause.

²⁵သို့ဖြစ်လျှင်၊ အကြောင်းမရှိဘဲငါ့ကိုမုန်းကြ၏ဟု သူတို့၏ပညတ္တိကျမ်းစာ၌ ရေးထားသောစကားသည် ပြည့်စုံခြင်းသို့ ရောက်သတည်း။

²⁶`And when the Comforter may come, whom I will send to you from the Father — the Spirit of truth, who from the Father doth come forth, he will testify of me;

²⁶ခမည်းတော်ထံမှထွက်လာ၍ သမ္မာတရားနှင့်ပြည့်စုံသောဝိညာဉ်တော်တည်းဟူသော ခမည်းတော်ထံမှ သင်တို့ဆီသို့ ငါစေလွှတ်လတံ့သော ဥပဇ္ဈာယ်ဆရာသည်ရောက်လာသောအခါ၊ ငါ၏အကြောင်းကို သက်သေခံ လိမ့်မည်။

²⁷and ye also do testify, because from the beginning ye are with me.

²⁷သင်တို့သည်လည်း ရှေးဦးစွာမှစ၍ ငါနှင့်အတူရှိနေသောကြောင့် သက်သေခံရကြလိမ့်မည်။
