¹And the Canaanite — king Arad — dwelling in the south, heareth that Israel hath come the way of the Atharim, and he fighteth against Israel, and taketh [some] of them captive.

¹ဣသရေလအမျိုးသည် အသရိမ်လမ်းဖြင့် လာကြသည်သိတင်းကို တောင်မျက်နှာ၌နေသော ခါနာန် အမျိုး အာရဒ်မင်းကြီးကြားလျှင်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို စစ်တိုက်၍ လူအချို့တို့ကို ဘမ်းဆီးသိမ်းသွားလေ၏။

²And Israel voweth a vow to Jehovah, and saith, `If Thou dost certainly give this people into my hand, then I have devoted their cities;`

²ဣသရေလအမျိုးကလည်း၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဤလူမျိုးကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့လက်သို့ အပ်တော်မူလျှင်၊ သူတို့ မြို့များကို ရှင်းရှင်းဖျက်ဆီးပါမည်ဟု ထာဝရဘုရားအား သစ္စာဂတိပြုလေ၏။

³and Jehovah hearkeneth to the voice of Israel, and giveth up the Canaanite, and he devoteth them and their cities, and calleth the name of the place Hormah.

³ထာဝရဘုရားသည်လည်း၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုး၏ စကားကို နားထောင်၍၊ ထိုခါနာန်အမျိုးသားတို့ကို အပ်တော်မူ၏။ သူတို့နှင့် သူတို့မြို့များကို ဣသရေလ လူတို့သည် ရှင်းရှင်းဖျက်ဆီး၍၊ ထိုအရပ်ကို ဟော်မာ အမည်ဖြင့် သမုတ်ကြ၏။

⁴And they journey from mount Hor, the way of the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom, and the soul of the people is short in the way,

⁴ဟောရတောင်မှ ထွက်၍ ဧဒုံပြည်ကို ဝိုင်းခြင်းငှါ၊ ဧဒုံကင်လယ်လမ်းဖြင့် ချီသွားကြစဉ်၊ အသွားခက်သော ကြောင့်၊ လူများတို့သည် စိတ်အားလျော့ကြ၍၊

⁵and the people speak against God, and against Moses, `Why hast thou brought us up out of Egypt to die in a wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water, and our soul hath been weary of this light bread.`

⁵သင်သည် ငါတို့ကို ဤတော၌ သေစေခြင်းငှါ၊ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ အဘယ်ကြောင့် ဆောင်ခဲ့သနည်း။ မုန့်မရှိ၊ ရေလည်းမရှိ၊ ဤပေါ့ပျက်သောစားစရာကိုလည်း ငါတို့သည် အလွန်ရွံရှာ၏ဟု ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် မောရှေကို ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်ပြု၍ ဆိုကြ၏။

⁶And Jehovah sendeth among the people the burning serpents, and they bite the people, and much people of Israel die;

⁶ထိုအခါ ထာဝရဘုရားသည်၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုး သားတို့တွင် မီးမြွေများကို စေလွှတ်တော်မူ၍၊ လူအများ တို့သည် အကိုက်ခံရသဖြင့် သေကြ၏။

⁷and the people come in unto Moses and say, `We have sinned, for we have spoken against Jehovah, and against thee; pray unto Jehovah, and He doth turn aside from us the serpent;` and Moses prayeth in behalf of the people.

⁷ထိုကြောင့် လူများတို့သည် မောရှေထံသို့ လာ၍ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရားနှင့် ကိုယ်တော်ကို ဆန့် ကျင်လျက် ပြောဆို၍ ပြစ်မှားပါပြီ။ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မြွေများကို အကျွန်ုပ်တို့မှ ပယ်ရှားတော်မူမည်အကြောင်း ဆုတောင်းပါဟု လျှောက်လျှင်၊ မောရှေသည် လူများအဘို့ ဆုတောင်းလေ၏။

⁸And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Make for thee a burning [serpent], and set it on an ensign; and it hath been, every one who is bitten and hath seen it — he hath lived.

⁸ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း၊ မီးမြွေရုပ်ကိုလုပ်၍ တိုင်ပေါ်မှာ မြှောက်ထားလော့။ အကိုက်ခံရသော သူတိုင်း ကြည့်ရှုလျှင် အသက်ချမ်းသာရလိမ့်မည်ဟု မောရှေအား မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊

⁹And Moses maketh a serpent of brass, and setteth it on the ensign, and it hath been, if the serpent hath bitten any man, and he hath looked expectingly unto the serpent of brass — he hath lived.

⁹မောရှေသည် ကြေးဝါဖြင့် မြွေကို လုပ်၍ တိုင် ပေါ်မှာ မြှောက်ချီထားပြီးလျှင်၊ မြွေကိုက်သောသူမည် သည်ကား၊ ကြေးဝါမြွေကို ကြည့်ရှုသောအခါ အသက် ချမ်းသာရကြ၏။

¹⁰And the sons of Israel journey, and encamp in Oboth.

¹⁰တဖန် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် နေရာ ပြောင်း၍ ဩဗုတ်အရပ်၌ စားခန်းချကြ၏။

¹¹And they journey from Oboth, and encamp in Ije-Abarim, in the wilderness that [is] on the front of Moab, at the rising of the sun.

¹¹ဩဗုတ်အရပ်မှ ပြောင်းပြန်၍၊ နေထွက်ရာ ဘက်၊ မောဘပြည်ရှေ့တွင်ရှိသော တောမှာ၊ ဣဇာဗာရိမ် အရပ်၌ စားခန်းချကြ၏။

¹²From thence they have journeyed, and encamp in the valley of Zared.

¹²ထိုအရပ်မှ ပြောင်း၍၊ ဇာရက် ချောင်းနား၌ စားခန်းချကြ၏။

¹³From thence they have journeyed, and encamp beyond Arnon, which [is] in the wilderness which is coming out of the border of the Amorite, for Arnon [is] the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorite;

¹³ထိုအရပ်မှ တဖန်ပြောင်းပြန်၍၊ အာမောရိပြည် နယ်နှင့် စပ်သော တော၌ရှိသော အာနုန်ချောင်းနား တဘက်တချက်၌ စားခန်းချကြ၏။ အာနုန်ချောင်းကား၊ မောဘပြည်၊ အာမောရိပြည်စပ်ကြားအပိုင်းအခြား ဖြစ်သတည်း။

¹⁴therefore it is said in a book, `The wars of Jehovah,` — `Waheb in Suphah, And the brooks of Arnon;

¹⁴ထိုသို့နှင့်အညီ၊ ထာဝရဘုရားစစ်တိုက်စာ၌ကား၊ ဇာရက်အရပ်၊ သုပအရပ်၊ အာနုန်ချောင်းတို့၊

¹⁵And the spring of the brooks, Which turned aside to the dwelling of Ar, And hath leaned to the border of Moab.`

¹⁵အာရပြည်သို့ စီး၍ မောဘပြည်အနား၌ ရှောက်သွားသော ချောင်းအသွယ်သွယ်ဟု လာသတည်း။

¹⁶And from thence [they journeyed] to Beer; it [is] the well [concerning] which Jehovah said to Moses, `Gather the people, and I give to them — water.`

¹⁶အာနုန်ချောင်းမှ ဗေရရေတွင်းသို့ ခရီးသွားကြ၏။ ထိုရေတွင်းကား အခြားမဟုတ်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားက၊ လူများကို စုဝေးစေလော့၊ ရေကို ငါပေးမည်ဟု မောရှေအား မိန့်တော်မူရာ၌ ရည်ဆောင်သော ရေတွင်းဖြစ် သတည်း။

¹⁷Then singeth Israel this song, concerning the well — they have answered to it:

¹⁷ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလအမျိုးက၊ အိုတွင်းရေ၊ ထွက် လော့။ ထွက်အောင် သီခြင်းဆိုကြလော့။

¹⁸`A well — digged it have princes, Prepared it have nobles of the people, With the lawgiver, with their staves.` And from the wilderness [they journeyed] to Mattanah,

¹⁸တရားမင်းစီရင်သည်အတိုင်း၊ မှူးမတ်တို့သည် ရေတွင်းကို တူးကြပြီ။ လူတို့တွင် အကဲအမှူးတို့သည် တောင်ဝေးတို့နှင့် ရေတွင်းကို တူးကြပြီဟု သီခြင်း ဆိုလေ၏။

¹⁹and from Mattanah to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth,

¹⁹ထိုတောမှ မတ္တနာအရပ်သို့၎င်း၊ မတ္တနာအရပ်မှ နဟာလျေလအရပ်သို့၎င်း၊ နဟာလျေလအရပ်မှ ဗာမုတ် အရပ်သို့၎င်း၊

²⁰and from Bamoth in the valley which [is] in the field of Moab [to] the top of Pisgah, which hath looked on the front of the wilderness.

²⁰ဗာမုတ်အရပ်မှ မောဘချိုင့်သို့၎င်း၊ ယေရှိမုန်မြို့ကို မျက်နှာပြုသော ပိသဂါတောင်ထိပ်သို့၎င်း ခရီးသွား ကြ၏။

²¹And Israel sendeth messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorite, saying,

²¹ထိုအခါ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည်၊ အာ မောရိရှင်ဘုရင် ရှိဟုန်မင်းထံသို့ သံတမန်တို့ကို စေလွှတ် လျက်၊

²²`Let me pass through thy land, we do not turn aside into a field, or into a vineyard, we do not drink waters of a well; in the king`s way we go, till that we pass over thy border.`

²²အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် မင်းကြီးပြည်အလယ်၌ ရှောက်၍ သွားပါရစေ။ လယ်ယာသို့၎င်း၊ စပျစ်ဥယျာဉ် သို့၎င်း မဝင်ပါ။ တွင်းရေကိုလည်း မသောက်ပါ။ မင်းကြီး ပြည်ကို မလွန်မှီတိုင်အောင်၊ မင်းလမ်းသို့သာ ရှောက် လိုက်ပါမည်ဟု အခွင့်တောင်းကြ၏။

²³And Sihon hath not suffered Israel to pass through his border, and Sihon gathereth all his people, and cometh out to meet Israel into the wilderness, and cometh in to Jahaz, and fighteth against Israel.

²³ထိုပြည်အလယ်၌ ရှောက်သွားရသော အခွင့်ကို၊ ရှိဟုန်မင်းသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့အား မပေး။ မိမိလူအပေါင်းတို့ကို စုဝေးစေ၍၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသား တို့ကို ဆီးတားခြင်းငှါ၊ သူတို့ရှိရာတောသို့ ထွက်၍ ယာဟတ်မြို့သို့ ရောက်ပြီးလျှင် စစ်တိုက်လေ၏။

²⁴And Israel smiteth him by the mouth of the sword, and possesseth his land from Arnon unto Jabbok — unto the sons of Ammon; for the border of the sons of Ammon [is] strong.

²⁴ထိုမင်းကို၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် ထား နှင့် လုပ်ကြံ၍၊ အာနုန်ချောင်းမှသည် ယဗ္ဗုတ်ချောင်း တိုင်အောင်၎င်း၊ အမ္မုန်အမျိုးသား နေရာတိုင်အောင်၎င်း၊ ထိုမင်းပိုင်သော မြေကို သိမ်းယူကြ၏။ အမ္မုန်အမျိုးသား နေရာ နယ်စပ်ကား အားကြီး၏။

²⁵And Israel taketh all these cities, and Israel dwelleth in all the cities of the Amorite, in Heshbon, and in all its villages;

²⁵ထိုသို့ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည်၊ ဟေရှဘုန် မြို့မှစ၍ အာမောရိအမျိုးသားနေသော မြို့ရွာရှိသမျှ တို့ကို သိမ်းယူ၍ နေကြ၏။

²⁶for Heshbon is a city of Sihon king of the Amorite, and he hath fought against the former king of Moab, and taketh all his land out of his hand, unto Arnon;

²⁶ဟေရှဘုန်မြို့ကား၊ မောဘပြည်ကို အစိုးရသော အရင်ရှင်ဘုရင်နှင့် စစ်တိုက်၍ အာနုန်ချောင်းတိုင် အောင် ပြည်ကို လုယူသော အာမောရိရှင်ဘုရင် ရှိဟုန် မင်းနေသောမြို့ ဖြစ်သတည်း။

²⁷therefore those using similes say — `Enter ye Heshbon, Let the city of Sihon be built and ready,

²⁷ထိုအကြောင်းကို ရည်ဆောင်၍ လင်္ကာဆရာတို့ က၊ ဟေရှဘုန်မြို့သို့ သွား၍ တဖန်တည်ကြစို့။ ရှိဟုန် ဘုရင်နေသောမြို့ကို ပြင်ဆင်ကြစို့။

²⁸For fire hath gone out from Heshbon, A flame from the city of Sihon, It hath consumed Ar of Moab, Owners of the high places of Arnon.

²⁸ရှိဟုန်ဘုရင်နေရာ ဟေရှဘုန်မြို့မှ မီးလျှံထွက် ၍ မောဘပြည်အာရမြို့နှင့်တကွ၊ အာနုန်ချောင်းနား၊ မြင့်သောအရပ်၌ အစိုးရသော မင်းတို့ကို လောင်လေပြီ။

²⁹Wo to thee, O Moab, Thou hast perished, O people of Chemosh, He hath given his sons who escape — Also his daughters — Into captivity, to a king of the Amorite — Sihon!

²⁹အိုမောဘပြည်၊ သင်သည် အမင်္ဂလာရှိ၏။ အိုခေမုရှတပည့်တို့၊ သင်တို့သည် အကျိုးနည်းကြပြီ။ ပြေး ရသော မိမိသားသမီးတို့ကို အာမောရိရှင်ဘုရင်ရှိဟုန် လက်သို့ ရောက်စေခြင်းငှါ၊ ထိုဘုရားသည် အခွင့်ပေးပြီ တကား။

³⁰And we shoot them, Perished hath Heshbon unto Dibon, And we make desolate unto Nophah, Which [is] unto Medeba.`

³⁰တဖန် ငါတို့သည် အာမောရိသားတို့ကို တိုက် ပြန်သောကြောင့်၊ ဟေရှဘုန်ပြည်သည် ဒိဘုန်မြို့တိုင် အောင် ပျက်လေပြီ။ မေဒဘမြို့နှင့် နီးစပ်သော နောဖာ မြို့တိုင်အောင် သူတို့ကို သုတ်သင်ပယ်ရှင်းကြပြီဟု ဆိုသတည်း။

³¹And Israel dwelleth in the land of the Amorite,

³¹ထိုသို့ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် အာမောရိ ပြည်၌ နေရကြ၏။

³²and Moses sendeth to spy out Jaazer, and they capture its villages, and dispossess the Amorite who [is] there,

³²မောရှေသည်လည်း၊ ယာဇာမြို့ကို စူးစမ်းခြင်းငှါ လူကို စေလွှတ်ပြီးလျှင်၊ ထိုမြို့ရွာတို့ကို သိမ်းယူ၍ အရင် နေသော အာမောရိအမျိုးသားတို့ကို နှင်ထုတ်ကြ၏။

³³and turn and go up the way of Bashan, and Og king of Bashan cometh out to meet them, he and all his people, to battle, [at] Edrei.

³³တဖန် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသားတို့သည် လှည့်၍၊ ဗာရှန်ပြည်သို့ ခရီးသွားကြ၏။ ဗာရှန်ရှင်ဘုရင်ဩဃ သည်၊ မိမိလူအပေါင်းတို့နှင့် ဧဒြိအရပ်မှာ စစ်တိုက်ခြင်းငှါ ချီသွား၏။

³⁴And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Fear him not, for into thy hand I have given him, and all his people, and his land, and thou hast done to him as thou hast done to Sihon king of the Amorite, who is dwelling in Heshbon.`

³⁴ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း၊ သူ့ကို မကြောက်နှင့်။ သူနှင့်တကွ သူ၏လူအပေါင်းကို၎င်း၊ သူ၏မြေကို၎င်း၊ သင့်လက်၌ ငါအပ်ပေးပြီ။ ဟေရှဘုန်မြို့နေ အာမောရိ ရှင်ဘုရင်ရှိဟုန်ကို ပြုသကဲ့သို့၊ ဤမင်းကိုလည်း ပြုရမည် ဟု မောရှေအား မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊

³⁵And they smite him, and his sons, and all his people, until he hath not left to him a remnant, and they possess his land.

³⁵ထိုမင်းနှင့်သားများ၊ လူများအပေါင်းတို့ကို တယောက်မျှ မကြွင်းလုပ်ကြံ၍ သူ၏ပြည်ကို သိမ်းယူ ကြ၏။
