1And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you,
1ਹੁਣ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ, ਅਸੀਂ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਥੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਜਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।
2for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come,
2ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੋਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
3for when they may say, Peace and surety, then sudden destruction doth stand by them, as the travail [doth] her who is with child, and they shall not escape;
3ਲੋਕੀ ਕਹਿਣਗੇ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਅਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰਖਿਅਤ ਹਾਂ।” ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੇਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਆ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੀਡ਼ਾਂ ਸਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਣਗੇ।
4and ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may catch you as a thief;
4ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚੋਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
5all ye are sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness,
5ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਉਂ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦਿਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਹੋ। ਅਸੀਂ ਰਾਤ ਜਾਂ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।
6so, then, we may not sleep as also the others, but watch and be sober,
6ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਗੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਕਾਬੂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
7for those sleeping, by night do sleep, and those making themselves drunk, by night are drunken,
7ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਲੋਕ ਸੌਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਲੋਕਸ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਮਸਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹ।
8and we, being of the day — let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and an helmet — a hope of salvation,
8ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਾਬੂ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਰਖਿਆ ਕਵਚ ਵਾਂਗ ਪਹਿਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਸਾਡਾ ਟੋਪ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
9because God did not appoint us to anger, but to the acquiring of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10who did die for us, that whether we wake — whether we sleep — together with him we may live;
10ਯਿਸੂ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕਠੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂ ਸਕੀਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਈਏ ਜਾਂ ਮਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹੋਈਏ।
11wherefore, comfort ye one another, and build ye up, one the one, as also ye do.
11ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ, ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਿਉ।
12And we ask you, brethren, to know those labouring among you, and leading you in the Lord, and admonishing you,
12ਹੁਣ, ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
13and to esteem them very abundantly in love, because of their work; be at peace among yourselves;
13ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਉਸ ਕੰਮ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ, ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਉਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਹੋ।
14and we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the infirm, be patient unto all;
14ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਅਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਈ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਡਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ। ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਹੋਵੋ।
15see no one evil for evil may render to any one, but always that which is good pursue ye, both to one another and to all;
15ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਬਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸਦੀ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।
16always rejoice ye;
16ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਰਹੋ।
17continually pray ye;
17ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਾ ਛੱਡੋ।
18in every thing give thanks, for this [is] the will of God in Christ Jesus in regard to you.
18ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਥੋਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
19The Spirit quench not;
19ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਰੋਕੋ।
20prophesyings despise not;
20ਅਗੰਮੀ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਝ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਹੱਤਵਹੀਣ ਹੋਣ।
21all things prove; that which is good hold fast;
21ਪਰ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਪਰਖ ਕਰੋ। ਜੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਖ ਲਵੋ।
22from all appearance of evil abstain ye;
22ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹੋ।
23and the God of the peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your whole spirit, and soul, and body, be preserved unblameably in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ;
23ਅਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਮਨ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਖੁਦ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਵੋ। ਅਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੱਕ ਸੁਰਖਿਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਰਹਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ।
24stedfast is He who is calling you, who also will do [it].
24ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
25Brethren, pray for us;
25ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣੋ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
26salute all the brethren in an holy kiss;
26ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਕਠੇ ਹੋਵੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਚੁੰਮਣ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿਉ।
27I charge you [by] the Lord, that the letter be read to all the holy brethren;
27ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਇਖਤਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੱਤਰ ਪਢ਼ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
28the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you! Amen.
28ਸਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਵੇ।
