1We may fear, then, lest a promise being left of entering into His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short,
1ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਚੇਤ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ।
2for we also are having good news proclaimed, even as they, but the word heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard,
2ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਪਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
3for we do enter into the rest — we who did believe, as He said, `So I sware in My anger, If they shall enter into My rest — ;` and yet the works were done from the foundation of the world,
3ਅਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ੇ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹਾਂ। ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਧੀ; ‘ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।” ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 95:11 ਹਾਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਣ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਸਾਜੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸਨੇ ਇੰਝ ਆਖਿਆ।
4for He spake in a certain place concerning the seventh [day] thus: `And God did rest in the seventh day from all His works;`
4ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ; “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਉਸਨੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ।”
5and in this [place] again, `If they shall enter into My rest — ;`
5ਅਤੇ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਡ਼ਨਗੇ।”
6since then, it remaineth for certain to enter into it, and those who did first hear good news entered not in because of unbelief —
6ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ।
7again He doth limit a certain day, `To-day,` (in David saying, after so long a time,) as it hath been said, `To-day, if His voice ye may hear, ye may not harden your hearts,`
7ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਖਾਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ। ਇਸਨੂੰ “ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ” ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਦਾਊਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪੋਥੀ ਦੇ ਇਸੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਹੈ; “ਅੱਜ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ, ਤਾਂ ਅਤੀਤ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਦੀ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ।” ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 95:7-8
8for if Joshua had given them rest, He would not concerning another day have spoken after these things;
8ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕੀ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੂਆ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਦਿਨ “ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ” ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
9there doth remain, then, a sabbatic rest to the people of God,
9ਇਸਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਚਲਦਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੱਤਵਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
10for he who did enter into his rest, he also rested from his works, as God from His own.
10ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਮੁਕਾ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਮੁਕਾਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
11May we be diligent, then, to enter into that rest, that no one in the same example of the unbelief may fall,
11ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਡ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਸਖਤ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੀਏ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਢੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਨਾ ਗੁਆ ਲਵੇ, ਜੋ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ।
12for the reckoning of God is living, and working, and sharp above every two-edged sword, and piercing unto the dividing asunder both of soul and spirit, of joints also and marrow, and a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart;
12ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਵਚਨ ਸਜੀਵ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਚਨ ਤੇਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਧਾਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਿਖਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਵਚਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੂਂਘਿਆਂ ਕੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਜਗ਼੍ਹਾ ਵੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਰੂਹ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਜੁਡ਼ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਵਚਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਜੋਡ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਰਾਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
13and there is not a created thing not manifest before Him, but all things [are] naked and open to His eyes — with whom is our reckoning.
13ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਪਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਸਭ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ਼ ਦੇਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਢੰਗ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
14Having, then, a great chief priest passed through the heavens — Jesus the Son of God — may we hold fast the profession,
14ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ, ਦ੍ਰਿਡ਼ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਖੀਏ।
15for we have not a chief priest unable to sympathise with our infirmities, but [one] tempted in all things in like manner — apart from sin;
15ਯਿਸੂ, ਜਿਹਡ਼ਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ, ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਜਿਉਂਇਆ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਤਿਆਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
16we may come near, then, with freedom, to the throne of the grace, that we may receive kindness, and find grace — for seasonable help.
16ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਦੇ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਹਾਂ। ਉਥੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਲੋਡ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਿਹਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
