¹This, now, beloved, a second letter to you I write, in both which I stir up your pure mind in reminding [you],

¹Gacaliyayaalow, tanu waa warqaddii labaad oo aan idiin soo qoray, oo labadoodaba waxaan maankiinna daacadda ah ku guubaabinayaa xusuusin,

²to be mindful of the sayings said before by the holy prophets, and of the command of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour,

²inaad xusuusataan erayadii ay nebiyadii quduuska ahaa hore ugu hadleen, iyo amarkii Rabbiga Badbaadiyaha ah oo ay rasuulladiinnu ku hadleen.

³this first knowing, that there shall come in the latter end of the days scoffers, according to their own desires going on,

³Marka hore waxaad og tihiin in maalmaha ugu dambeeya kuwa majaajiloodaa ay la iman doonaan majaajilo iyagoo damacyadooda daba socda,

⁴and saying, `Where is the promise of his presence? for since the fathers did fall asleep, all things so remain from the beginning of the creation;`

⁴oo waxay odhan doonaan, Ballankii imaatinkiisii meeh? Waayo, haatan iyo maalintii awowayaashii ay dhinteen wax waluba waxay u socdaan sidii ay ahaayeen tan iyo bilowgii abuurniinta.

⁵for this is unobserved by them willingly, that the heavens were of old, and the earth out of water and through water standing together by the word of God,

⁵Waayo, iyagu kaas bay u illoobaan in waagii hore samooyin jireen iyo dhul erayga Ilaah biyo lagaga dhex abuuray,

⁶through which the then world, by water having been deluged, was destroyed;

⁶kuwaas oo dunidii waagaas jirtay ay ku baabba'day iyadoo daad qaaday.

⁷and the present heavens and the earth, by the same word are treasured, for fire being kept to a day of judgment and destruction of the impious men.

⁷Laakiinse samooyinka haatan jira iyo dhulkaba isku eray baa dab loogu kaydiyey, oo waxaa loo hayaa maalinta xisaabta iyo halligaadda dadka cibaadalaawayaasha ah.

⁸And this one thing let not be unobserved by you, beloved, that one day with the Lord [is] as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day;

⁸Laakiinse, gacaliyayaalow, waxan keliya ha illoobina in maalin keliyahu Rabbiga la tahay sida kun sannadood, kun sannadoodna la yihiin sida maalin keliya.

⁹the Lord is not slow in regard to the promise, as certain count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not counselling any to be lost but all to pass on to reformation,

⁹Rabbigu kama raago inuu ballankiisa oofiyo sida dadka qaarkiis ku tiriyo inay tahay raagid, laakiinse idinkuu idiin dulqaadanayaa, oo dooni maayo in qofnaba halligmo, laakiinse wuxuu doonayaa in kulli la wada toobad keeno.

¹⁰and it will come — the day of the Lord — as a thief in the night, in which the heavens with a rushing noise will pass away, and the elements with burning heat be dissolved, and earth and the works in it shall be burnt up.

¹⁰Laakiinse maalinta Rabbigu waxay u iman doontaa sida tuug oo kale; maalintaas oo ay samooyinku baabbi'i doonaan iyagoo sanqadh weynu ka yeedhayso, oo waxyaalaha abuuranna iyagoo gubanaya ayay baabbi'i doonaan. Dhulka iyo shuqullada ku jirana waa la gubi doonaa.

¹¹All these, then, being dissolved, what kind of persons doth it behove you to be in holy behaviours and pious acts?

¹¹Haddii waxyaalahan oo dhammu ay sidaas u baabbi'i doonaan, haddaba dad caynkee ah baa idinku waajib ah inaad noqotaan si aad ugu dhaqantaan dabiicad quduus ah iyo cibaado,

¹²waiting for and hasting to the presence of the day of God, by which the heavens, being on fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements with burning heat shall melt;

¹²idinkoo sugaya oo aad ugu dadaalaya imaatinka maalinta Ilaah, taasoo samooyinku iyagoo ololaya ay baabbi'i doonaan, waxyaalaha abuuranna iyagoo gubanaya ayay dhalaali doonaan.

¹³and for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise we do wait, in which righteousness doth dwell;

¹³Laakiinse sidii uu inoo ballanqaaday, waxaynu sugaynaa samooyin cusub iyo dhul cusub oo xaqnimo dhex deggan tahay.

¹⁴wherefore, beloved, these things waiting for, be diligent, spotless and unblameable, by Him to be found in peace,

¹⁴Sidaas daraaddeed, gacaliyayaalow, idinkoo waxyaalahaas sugaya, ku dadaala in laydin helo idinkoo nabdoon oo aan wasakh iyo eed lahayn Ilaah hortiisa.

¹⁵and the long-suffering of our Lord count ye salvation, according as also our beloved brother Paul — according to the wisdom given to him — did write to you,

¹⁵Sidii walaalkeen gacaliye Bawlos idiinku soo qoray xigmaddii la siiyey, ku tiriya in dulqaadashada Rabbigeennu tahay badbaado;

¹⁶as also in all the epistles, speaking in them concerning these things, among which things are certain hard to be understood, which the untaught and unstable do wrest, as also the other Writings, unto their own destruction.

¹⁶siduu warqadihiisii oo dhan waxyaalahan ugaga hadlay. Kuwaas waxaa ku jira wax in la gartaa ay dhib tahay, oo jaahiliinta iyo kuwaan adkayn ayaa qalloociya, siday Qorniinka kaleba u qalloociyaan oo ay u halligmaan.

¹⁷Ye, then, beloved, knowing before, take heed, lest, together with the error of the impious being led away, ye may fall from your own stedfastness,

¹⁷Sidaas daraaddeed, gacaliyayaalow, idinkoo waxyaalahan hore u garanayay, isjira, yaan laydinku kaxaysan qaladka kuwa sharka ah oo aydnaan ka dhicin adkaantiinna.Laakiinse ku kora nimcada iyo aqoonta Rabbigeenna ah Badbaadiyeheenna Ciise Masiix. Isaga ammaanu ha u ahaato haatan iyo weligeedba. Aamiin.

¹⁸and increase ye in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; to him [is] the glory both now, and to the day of the age! Amen.
