¹በቀረውስ፥ ወንድሞች ሆይ፥ የጌታ ቃል እንዲሮጥ በእናንተም ዘንድ ደግሞ እንደሚሆን እንዲከበር፥ እምነትም ለሁሉ ስለማይሆን ከዓመፀኞችና ከክፉዎች ሰዎች እንድንድን ስለ እኛ ጸልዩ።

¹For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also with you;

³ነገር ግን የሚያጸናችሁ ከክፉውም የሚጠብቃችሁ ጌታ የታመነ ነው።

²and that we may be delivered from bad and evil men, for faith [is] not [the portion] of all.

⁴የምናዛችሁንም አሁን እንድታደርጉ ወደ ፊትም ደግሞ እንድታደርጉ ስለ እናንተ በጌታ ታምነናል።

³But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and keep [you] from evil.

⁵ጌታም ወደ እግዚአብሔር ፍቅር ወደ ክርስቶስም ትዕግሥት ልባችንን ያቅናው።

⁴But we trust in the Lord as to you, that the things which we enjoin, ye both do and will do.

⁶ወንድሞች ሆይ፥ ከእኛ እንደ ተቀበለው ወግ ሳይሆን ያለ ሥርዓት ከሚሄድ ወንድም ሁሉ ትለዩ ዘንድ በጌታችን በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ስም እናዛችኋለን።

⁵But the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of the Christ.

⁷እኛን ልትመስሉ እንዴት እንደሚገባችሁ ራሳችሁ ታውቃላችሁና፤ በእናንተ ዘንድ ያለ ሥርዓት አልሄድንምና፤

⁶Now we enjoin you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw from every brother walking disorderly and not according to the instruction which he received from us.

⁸ከእናንተ ዘንድ በአንዱ ስንኳ እንዳንከብድበት፥ ሌሊትና ቀን በድካምና በጥረት እየሠራን እንኖር ነበር እንጂ፥ ከማንም እንጀራን እንዲያው አልበላንም።

⁷For ye know yourselves how ye ought to imitate us, because we have not walked disorderly among you;

⁹ይህም እኛን ልትመስሉ ራሳችንን እንደ ምሳሌ እንሰጣችሁ ዘንድ ነበር እንጂ፥ ያለ ሥልጣን ስለ ሆንን አይደለም።

⁸nor have we eaten bread from any one without cost; but in toil and hardship working night and day not to be chargeable to any one of you:

¹⁰ደግሞ ከእናንተ ጋር ሳለን። ሊሠራ የማይወድ አይብላ ብለን አዘናችሁ ነበርና።

⁹not that we have not the right, but that we might give ourselves as an example to you, in order to your imitating us.

¹¹ሥራ ከቶ ሳይሠሩ፥ በሰው ነገር እየገቡ፥ ያለ ሥርዓት ከእናንተ ዘንድ ስለሚሄዱ ስለ አንዳንዶች ሰምተናልና።

¹⁰For also when we were with you we enjoined you this, that if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat.

¹²እንደነዚህ ያሉትንም በጸጥታ እየሠሩ የገዛ እንጀራቸውን ይበሉ ዘንድ በጌታችን በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እናዛቸዋለን እንመክራቸውማለን።

¹¹For we hear that [there are] some walking among you disorderly, not working at all, but busybodies.

¹³እናንተ ግን፥ ወንድሞች ሆይ፥ መልካም ሥራን ለመሥራት አትታክቱ።

¹²Now such we enjoin and exhort in [the] Lord Jesus Christ, that working quietly they eat their own bread.

¹⁴በዚህ መልእክት ለተላከ ቃላችን የማይታዘዝ ማንም ቢኖር፥ ይህን ተመልከቱት፥ ያፍርም ዘንድ ከእርሱ ጋር አትተባበሩ።

¹³But *ye*, brethren, do not faint in well-doing.

¹⁵ነገር ግን እንደ ወንድም ገሥጹት እንጂ እንደ ጠላት አትቍጠሩት።

¹⁴But if any one obey not our word by the letter, mark that man, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed of himself;

¹⁶የሰላምም ጌታ ራሱ በሁሉ መንገድ ዘወትር ሰላምን ይስጣችሁ። ጌታ ከሁላችሁ ጋር ይሁን።

¹⁵and do not esteem him as an enemy, but admonish [him] as a brother.

¹⁷በገዛ እጄ የተጻፈ የእኔ የጳውሎስ ሰላምታ ይህ ነው፤ የመልእክቴ ሁሉ ማስረጃ ይህ ነው፤ እንዲህ እጽፋለሁ።

¹⁶But the Lord of peace himself give you peace continually in every way. The Lord [be] with you all.

¹⁸የጌታችን የኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጸጋ ከሁላችሁ ጋር ይሁን።

¹⁷The salutation by the hand of me, Paul, which is [the] mark in every letter; so I write.

¹⁸The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be] with you all.
