1كتاب ميلاد يسوع المسيح ابن داود ابن ابراهيم.
1A roll of the birth of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.
2ابراهيم ولد اسحق. واسحق ولد يعقوب. ويعقوب ولد يهوذا واخوته.
2Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren,
3ويهوذا ولد فارص وزارح من ثامار. وفارص ولد حصرون. وحصرون ولد ارام.
3and Judah begat Pharez and Zarah of Tamar, and Pharez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram,
4وارام ولد عميناداب. وعميناداب ولد نحشون. ونحشون ولد سلمون.
4and Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,
5وسلمون ولد بوعز من راحاب. وبوعز ولد عوبيد من راعوث. وعوبيد ولد يسى.
5and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab, and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth, and Obed begat Jesse,
6ويسى ولد داود الملك. وداود الملك ولد سليمان من التي لأوريا.
6and Jesse begat David the king. And David the king begat Solomon, of her [who had been] Uriah`s,
7وسليمان ولد رحبعام. ورحبعام ولد ابيا. وابيا ولد آسا.
7and Solomon begat Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begat Abijah, and Abijah begat Asa,
8وآسا ولد يهوشافاط. ويهوشافاط ولد يورام. ويورام ولد عزيا.
8and Asa begat Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Uzziah,
9وعزيا ولد يوثام. ويوثام ولد آحاز. وآحاز ولد حزقيا.
9and Uzziah begat Jotham, and Jotham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Hezekiah,
10وحزقيا ولد منسّى. ومنسّى ولد آمون. وآمون ولد يوشيا.
10and Hezekiah begat Manasseh, and Manasseh begat Amon, and Amon begat Josiah,
11ويوشيا ولد يكنيا واخوته عند سبي بابل.
11and Josiah begat Jeconiah and his brethren, at the Babylonian removal.
12وبعد سبي بابل يكنيا ولد شألتيئيل. وشألتيئيل ولد زربابل.
12And after the Babylonian removal, Jeconiah begat Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel,
13وزربابل ولد ابيهود. وابيهود ولد الياقيم. والياقيم ولد عازور.
13and Zerubbabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor,
14وعازور ولد صادوق. وصادوق ولد اخيم. واخيم ولد اليود.
14and Azor begat Sadok, and Sadok begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud,
15واليود ولد أليعازر. وأليعازر ولد متان. ومتان ولد يعقوب.
15and Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob,
16ويعقوب ولد يوسف رجل مريم التي ولد منها يسوع الذي يدعى المسيح.
16and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was begotten Jesus, who is named Christ.
17فجميع الاجيال من ابراهيم الى داود اربعة عشر جيلا. ومن داود الى سبي بابل اربعة عشر جيلا. ومن سبي بابل الى المسيح اربعة عشر جيلا
17All the generations, therefore, from Abraham unto David [are] fourteen generations, and from David unto the Babylonian removal fourteen generations, and from the Babylonian removal unto the Christ, fourteen generations.
18اما ولادة يسوع المسيح فكانت هكذا. لما كانت مريم امه مخطوبة ليوسف قبل ان يجتمعا وجدت حبلى من الروح القدس.
18And of Jesus Christ, the birth was thus: For his mother Mary having been betrothed to Joseph, before their coming together she was found to have conceived from the Holy Spirit,
19فيوسف رجلها اذ كان بارا ولم يشأ ان يشهرها اراد تخليتها سرّا.
19and Joseph her husband being righteous, and not willing to make her an example, did wish privately to send her away.
20ولكن فيما هو متفكر في هذه الامور اذا ملاك الرب قد ظهر له في حلم قائلا يا يوسف ابن داود لا تخف ان تأخذ مريم امرأتك. لان الذي حبل به فيها هو من الروح القدس.
20And on his thinking of these things, lo, a messenger of the Lord in a dream appeared to him, saying, `Joseph, son of David, thou mayest not fear to receive Mary thy wife, for that which in her was begotten [is] of the Holy Spirit,
21فستلد ابنا وتدعو اسمه يسوع لانه يخلّص شعبه من خطاياهم.
21and she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.`
22وهذا كله كان لكي يتم ما قيل من الرب بالنبي القائل.
22And all this hath come to pass, that it may be fulfilled that was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
23هوذا العذراء تحبل وتلد ابنا ويدعون اسمه عمانوئيل الذي تفسيره الله معنا
23`Lo, the virgin shall conceive, and she shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,` which is, being interpreted `With us [he is] God.`
24فلما استيقظ يوسف من النوم فعل كما امره ملاك الرب واخذ امرأته.
24And Joseph, having risen from the sleep, did as the messenger of the Lord directed him, and received his wife,
25ولم يعرفها حتى ولدت ابنها البكر. ودعا اسمه يسوع
25and did not know her till she brought forth her son — the first-born, and he called his name Jesus.
