1لا تزجر شيخا بل عظه كأب والاحداث كاخوة
1Rebuke not an elder sharply, but exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brethren,
2والعجائز كامّهات والحدثات كاخوات بكل طهارة
2elder women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
3اكرم الارامل اللواتي هنّ بالحقيقة ارامل.
3Honour widows who are really widows;
4ولكن ان كانت ارملة لها اولاد او حفدة فليتعلّموا اولا ان يوقّروا اهل بيتهم ويوفوا والديهم المكافاة. لان هذا صالح ومقبول امام الله.
4but if any widow have children or descendants, let them learn first to be pious as regards their own house, and to render a return on their side to [their] parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
5ولكن التي هي بالحقيقة ارملة ووحيدة فقد ألقت رجاءها على الله وهي تواظب الطلبات والصلوات ليلا ونهارا.
5Now she who [is] a widow indeed, and is left alone, has put [her] hope in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
6واما المتنعمة فقد ماتت وهي حية.
6But she that lives in habits of self-indulgence is dead [while] living.
7فأوص بهذا لكي يكنّ بلا لوم.
7And these things enjoin, that they may be irreproachable.
8وان كان احد لا يعتني بخاصته ولا سيما اهل بيته فقد انكر الايمان وهو شر من غير المؤمن.
8But if any one does not provide for his own, and specially for those of [his] house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than the unbeliever.
9لتكتتب ارملة ان لم يكن عمرها اقل من ستين سنة امرأة رجل واحد
9Let a widow be put upon the list, being of not less than sixty years, [having been] wife of one man,
10مشهودا لها في اعمال صالحة ان تكن قد ربّت الاولاد اضافت الغرباء غسلت ارجل القديسين ساعدت المتضايقين اتبعت كل عمل صالح.
10borne witness to in good works, if she have brought up children, if she have exercised hospitality, if she have washed saints' feet, if she have imparted relief to the distressed, if she have diligently followed every good work.
11اما الارامل الحدثات فارفضهنّ لانهنّ متى بطرن على المسيح يردن ان يتزوجن.
11But younger widows decline; for when they grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,
12ولهنّ دينونة لانهنّ رفضنّ الايمان الاول.
12being guilty, because they have cast off their first faith.
13ومع ذلك ايضا يتعلمن ان يكنّ بطالات يطفن في البيوت ولسن بطالات فقط بل مهذارات ايضا وفضوليات يتكلمن بما لا يجب.
13And, at the same time, they learn also [to be] idle, going about to people's houses; and not only idle, but also gossipers and meddlers, speaking things not becoming.
14فاريد ان الحدثات يتزوجن ويلدن الاولاد ويدبّرن البيوت ولا يعطين علة للمقاوم من اجل الشتم.
14I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach.
15فان بعضهنّ قد انحرفن وراء الشيطان.
15For already some have turned aside after Satan.
16ان كان لمؤمن او مؤمنة ارامل فليساعدهنّ ولا يثقّل على الكنيسة لكي تساعد هي اللواتي هنّ بالحقيقة ارامل
16If any believing man or woman have widows, let them impart relief to them, and let not the assembly be charged, that it may impart relief to those [that are] widows indeed.
17اما الشيوخ المدبرون حسنا فليحسبوا اهلا لكرامة مضاعفة ولا سيما الذين يتعبون في الكلمة والتعليم.
17Let the elders who take the lead [among the saints] well be esteemed worthy of double honour, specially those labouring in word and teaching;
18لان الكتاب يقول لا تكمّ ثورا دارسا. والفاعل مستحق اجرته
18for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman [is] worthy of his hire.
19لا تقبل شكاية على شيخ الا على شاهدين او ثلاثة شهود.
19Against an elder receive not an accusation unless where there are two or three witnesses.
20الذين يخطئون وبّخهم امام الجميع لكي يكون عند الباقين خوف.
20Those that sin convict before all, that the rest also may have fear.
21اناشدك امام الله والرب يسوع المسيح والملائكة المختارين ان تحفظ هذا بدون غرض ولا تعمل شيئا بمحاباة.
21I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing by favour.
22لا تضع يدا على احد بالعجلة ولا تشترك في خطايا الآخرين. احفظ نفسك طاهرا
22Lay hands quickly on no man, nor partake in others' sins. Keep thyself pure.
23لا تكن في ما بعد شراب ماء بل استعمل خمرا قليلا من اجل معدتك واسقامك الكثيرة
23Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses.
24خطايا بعض الناس واضحة تتقدم الى القضاء. واما البعض فتتبعهم.
24Of some men the sins are manifest beforehand, going before to judgment, and some also they follow after.
25كذلك ايضا الاعمال الصالحة واضحة والتي هي خلاف ذلك لا يمكن ان تخفى
25In like manner good works also are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise cannot be hid.
