1الشيخ الى كيرية المختارة والى اولادها الذين انا احبهم بالحق ولست انا فقط بل ايضا جميع الذين قد عرفوا الحق
1The elder to [the] elect lady and her children, whom *I* love in truth, and not *I* only but also all who have known the truth,
2من اجل الحق الذي يثبت فينا وسيكون معنا الى الابد.
2for the truth's sake which abides in us and shall be with us to eternity.
3تكون معكم نعمة ورحمة وسلام من الله الآب ومن الرب يسوع المسيح ابن الآب بالحق والمحبة
3Grace shall be with you, mercy, peace from God [the] Father, and from [the] Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4فرحت جدا لاني وجدت من اولادك بعضا سالكين في الحق كما اخذنا وصية من الآب.
4I rejoiced greatly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received commandment from the Father.
5والآن اطلب منك يا كيرية لا كاني اكتب اليك وصية جديدة بل التي كانت عندنا من البدء ان يحب بعضنا بعضا.
5And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we have had from [the] beginning, that we should love one another.
6وهذه هي المحبة ان نسلك بحسب وصاياه. هذه هي الوصية كما سمعتم من البدء ان تسلكوا فيها.
6And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it.
7لانه قد دخل الى العالم مضلّون كثيرون لا يعترفون بيسوع المسيح آتيا في الجسد. هذا هو المضلّ والضد للمسيح.
7For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh -- this is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8انظروا الى انفسكم لئلا نضيّع ما عملناه بل ننال اجرا تاما.
8See to yourselves, that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive full wages.
9كل من تعدى ولم يثبت في تعليم المسيح فليس له الله. ومن يثبت في تعليم المسيح فهذا له الآب والابن جميعا.
9Whosoever goes forward and abides not in the doctrine of the Christ has not God. He that abides in the doctrine, *he* has both the Father and the Son.
10ان كان احد يأتيكم ولا يجيء بهذا التعليم فلا تقبلوه في البيت ولا تقولوا له سلام.
10If any one come to you and bring not this doctrine, do not receive him into [the] house, and greet him not;
11لان من يسلم عليه يشترك في اعماله الشريرة
11for he who greets him partakes in his wicked works.
12اذ كان لي كثير لاكتب اليكم لم ارد ان يكون بورق وحبر لاني ارجو ان آتي اليكم واتكلم فما لفم لكي يكون فرحنا كاملا.
12Having many things to write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full.
13يسلم عليك اولاد اختك المختارة آمين
13The children of thine elect sister greet thee.
