¹وحدث في ايقونية انهما دخلا معا الى مجمع اليهود وتكلما حتى آمن جمهور كثير من اليهود واليونانيين‎.

¹And it came to pass in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake that a great multitude of both Jews and Greeks believed.

²‎ولكن اليهود غير المؤمنين غرّوا وافسدوا نفوس الامم على الاخوة.

²But the Jews who did not believe stirred up the minds of [those of] the nations and made [them] evil-affected against the brethren.

³فاقاما زمانا طويلا يجاهران بالرب الذي كان يشهد لكلمة نعمته ويعطي ان تجرى آيات وعجائب على ايديهما‎.

³They stayed therefore a good while, speaking boldly, [confiding] in the Lord, who gave witness to the word of his grace, giving signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

⁴‎فانشق جمهور المدينة فكان بعضهم مع اليهود وبعضهم مع الرسولين‎.

⁴And the multitude of the city was divided, and some were with the Jews and some with the apostles.

⁵‎فلما حصل من الامم واليهود مع رؤسائهم هجوم ليبغوا عليهما ويرجموهما

⁵And when an assault was making, both of [those of] the nations and [the] Jews with their rulers, to use [them] ill and stone them,

⁶شعرا به فهربا الى مدينتي ليكأونية لسترة ودربه والى الكورة المحيطة‎.

⁶they, being aware of it, fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the surrounding country,

⁷‎وكانا هناك يبشران

⁷and there they were announcing the glad tidings.

⁸وكان يجلس في لسترة رجل عاجز الرجلين مقعد من بطن امه ولم يمش قط.

⁸And a certain man in Lystra, impotent in his feet, sat, [being] lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.

⁹هذا كان يسمع بولس يتكلم. فشخص اليه واذ رأى ان له ايمانا ليشفى

⁹This [man] heard Paul speaking, who, fixing his eyes on him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed,

¹⁰قال بصوت عظيم قم على رجليك منتصبا. فوثب وصار يمشي‎.

¹⁰said with a loud voice, Rise up straight upon thy feet: and he sprang up and walked.

¹¹‎فالجموع لما رأوا ما فعل بولس رفعوا صوتهم بلغة ليكأونية قائلين ان الآلهة تشبهوا بالناس ونزلوا الينا‎.

¹¹But the crowds, who saw what Paul had done, lifted up their voices in Lycaonian, saying, The gods, having made themselves like men, are come down to us.

¹²‎فكانوا يدعون برنابا زفس وبولس هرمس اذ كان هو المتقدم في الكلام‎.

¹²And they called Barnabas Jupiter, and Paul Mercury, because he took the lead in speaking.

¹³‎فأتى كاهن زفس الذي كان قدام المدينة بثيران واكاليل عند الابواب مع الجموع وكان يريد ان يذبح‎.

¹³And the priest of Jupiter who was before the city, having brought bulls and garlands to the gates, would have done sacrifice along with the crowds.

¹⁴‎فلما سمع الرسولان برنابا وبولس مزقا ثيابهما واندفعا الى الجمع صارخين

¹⁴But the apostles Barnabas and Paul, having heard [it], rent their garments, and rushed out to the crowd, crying

¹⁵وقائلين ايها الرجال لماذا تفعلون هذا. نحن ايضا بشر تحت آلام مثلكم نبشركم ان ترجعوا من هذه الاباطيل الى الاله الحي الذي خلق السماء والارض والبحر وكل ما فيها‎.

¹⁵and saying, Men, why do ye these things? *We* also are men of like passions with you, preaching to you to turn from these vanities to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things in them;

¹⁶‎الذي في الاجيال الماضية ترك جميع الامم يسلكون في طرقهم‎.

¹⁶who in the past generations suffered all the nations to go in their own ways,

¹⁷‎مع انه لم يترك نفسه بلا شاهد وهو يفعل خيرا يعطينا من السماء امطارا وازمنة مثمرة ويملأ قلوبنا طعاما وسرورا‎.

¹⁷though indeed he did not leave himself without witness, doing good, and giving to you from heaven rain and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.

¹⁸‎وبقولهما هذا كفّا الجموع بالجهد عن ان يذبحوا لهما‏‎.

¹⁸And saying these things, they with difficulty kept the crowds from sacrificing to them.

¹⁹‎ثم أتى يهود من انطاكية وايقونيه واقنعوا الجموع فرجموا بولس وجروه خارج المدينة ظانين انه قد مات‎.

¹⁹But there came Jews from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the crowds and stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing him to have died.

²⁰‎ولكن اذ احاط به التلاميذ قام ودخل المدينة وفي الغد خرج مع برنابا الى دربة‎.

²⁰But while the disciples encircled him, he rose up and entered into the city. And on the morrow he went away with Barnabas to Derbe.

²¹‎فبشرا في تلك المدينة وتلمذا كثيرين. ثم رجعا الى لسترة وايقونية وانطاكية

²¹And having announced the glad tidings to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch,

²²يشددان انفس التلاميذ ويعظانهم ان يثبتوا في الايمان وانه بضيقات كثيرة ينبغي ان ندخل ملكوت الله

²²establishing the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.

²³وانتخبا لهم قسوسا في كل كنيسة ثم صلّيا باصوام واستودعاهم للرب الذي كانوا قد آمنوا به‎.

²³And having chosen them elders in each assembly, having prayed with fastings, they committed them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.

²⁴‎ولما اجتازا في بيسيدية أتيا الى بمفيلية‎.

²⁴And having passed through Pisidia they came to Pamphylia,

²⁵‎وتكلما بالكلمة في برجة ثم نزلا الى اتالية‎.

²⁵and having spoken the word in Perga, they came down to Attalia;

²⁶‎ومن هناك سافرا في البحر الى انطاكية حيث كانا قد أسلما الى نعمة الله للعمل الذي اكملاه‎.

²⁶and thence they sailed away to Antioch, whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.

²⁷‎ولما حضرا وجمعا الكنيسة اخبرا بكل ما صنع الله معهما وانه فتح للامم باب الايمان‎.

²⁷And having arrived, and having brought together the assembly, they related to them all that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.

²⁸‎واقاما هناك زمانا ليس بقليل مع التلاميذ

²⁸And they stayed no little time with the disciples.
