¹Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was [there], prophets and teachers, Barnabas, and Symeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen the foster-brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

²And as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

²Ug samtang sila nag-alagad sa Ginoo, ug nagpuasa, miingon ang Espiritu Santo: Ipinig kanako si Bernabe ug si Saulo alang sa buhat nga kanila ako nagatawag.

³Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

³Unya, sa nakapuasa ug sa nakaampo ug sa nakapandung sila sa ilang mga kamot sa ibabaw kanila, gipalakaw sila.

⁴So they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

⁴Busa, sanglit gisugo sila sa Espiritu Santo, milugsong sa Seleucia; ug gikan didto misakay sila padulong sa Cipro.

⁵And when they were at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John as their attendant.

⁵Ug sa nakadangat sila sa Salamina, gimantala nila ang pulong sa Dios sa mga sinagoga sa mga Judio. Ug uban usab kanila si Juan ingon nga ilang katabang.

⁶And when they had gone through the whole island unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus;

⁶Ug sa nalatas na nila ang tibook nga pulo hangtud sa Papho, hingkaplagan nila ang usa ka salamangkero nga Judio, manalagna nga bakakon, nga ginganlan si Barjesus;

⁷who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. The same called unto him Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

⁷Nga kauban sa gobernador nga si Sergio Paulo, usa ka tawo nga masinabuton. Kini nagpatawag ngadto kaniya kang Bernabe ug kang Saulo, ug naninguha siya sa pagpatalinghug sa pulong sa Dios.

⁸But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn aside the proconsul from the faith.

⁸Apan misukol kanila si Elimas, ang salamangkero nga malimbongon (kay mao kini ang iyang ngalan, kong hubaron), nga naninguha siya sa pagpasalaag sa pagtoo sa gobernador.

⁹But Saul, who is also [called] Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him,

⁹Unya si Saulo, nga ginganlan usab si Pablo, nga napuno sa Espiritu Santo, mitutok kaniya,

¹⁰and said, O full of all guile and all villany, thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

¹⁰Ug miingon: Ah, ikaw nga napuno sa tanang limbong, ug sa tanang pagluib, anak ikaw sa yawa, ug kaaway sa tanang pagkamatarung, dili ka ba moundang sa pagbalit-ad sa mga matul-id nga dalan sa Ginoo?

¹¹And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

¹¹Ug tan-awa karon, ang kamot sa Ginoo nagapaibabaw kanimo ug mabuta ka nga dili ka makakita sa adlaw sulod sa usa ka panahon. Ug sa gilayon nahulog kaniya ang usa ka gabon ug kangitngit: ug sa nagalibutlibut siya nangita kong kinsa ang magaagak kaniya sa kamot.

¹²Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

¹²Unya ang gobernador, sa nakita niya ang nahitabo, mitoo nga nahatingala sa pagtolon-an sa Ginoo.

¹³Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos, and came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.

¹³Ug si Pablo ug ang iyang mga kauban milayag gikan sa Papho, ug midunggo sila sa Perge sa Pamphylia. Apan si Juan mibulag kanila, ug mipauli sa Jerusalem.

¹⁴But they, passing through from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia; and they went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

¹⁴Ug sa nahaagi sila sa Perge, naka-abut sila sa Antioquia sa Pisidia, ug mingsulod sila sa sinagoga sa adlaw nga igpapahulay ug milingkod.

¹⁵And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

¹⁵Ug sa tapus ang pagbasa sa Kasugoan ug sa mga Manalagna, gipasugoan sila sa mga pangulo sa sinagoga: Kaigsoonan: kong kamo may mga pulong nga tambag alang sa katawohan isulti ninyo.

¹⁶And Paul stood up, and beckoning with the hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, hearken:

¹⁶Unya mitindog si Pablo, ug sa nakasinyas sa iyang mga kamot, miingon: Magpatalinghug kamo, mga taga-Israel, ug kamo nga mga nangahadlok sa Dios.

¹⁷The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they sojourned in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm led he them forth out of it.

¹⁷Ang Dios niining katawohan sa Israel nagpili sa atong mga ginikanan; ug gibayaw niya ang lungsod samtang sila nagpuyo ingon nga dumuloong sa yuta sa Egipto, ug sila gipagula niya uban ang iyang makagagahum nga bukton.

¹⁸And for about the time of forty years as a nursing-father bare he them in the wilderness.

¹⁸Ug sa giantus niya ang ilang mga batasan sa may kap-atan ka tuig sa kamingawan,

¹⁹And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave [them] their land for an inheritance, for about four hundred and fifty years:

¹⁹Ug sa gilaglag niya ang pito ka mga nasud sa yuta sa Canaan, iyang gihatag kanila ang ilang yuta nga usa ka kabilin sa may upat ka gatus ug kalim-an ka tuig.

²⁰and after these things he gave [them] judges until Samuel the prophet.

²⁰Ug sa human niini iyang gihatagan sila ug mga maghuhukom hangtud kang Samuel nga manalagna.

²¹And afterward they asked for a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for the space of forty years.

²¹Ug unya nangayo sila ug hari; ug gihatag kanila sa Dios si Saulo, nga anak ni Cis, usa ka tawo sa banay ni Benjamin, sa may kap-atan ka tuig.

²²And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king; to whom also he bare witness and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who shall do all My will.

²²Ug sa iyang gikuha siya, gipatindog niya si David, aron mahimong hari nila; nga gipamatud-an niya usab nga nagaingon: Nakita ko si David nga anak ni Jesse, tawo nga ingon sa akong kasingkasing, nga magabuhat sa tanan nako nga kabubut-on.

²³Of this man's seed hath God according to promise brought unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus;

²³Sa kaliwatan niini, ingon sa saad, ang Dios nagpatindog alang sa Israel usa ka Manluluwas nga si Jesus;

²⁴when John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

²⁴Sa wala pa siya moanhi si Juan nagwali una sa bautismo sa paghinulsol sa tibook nga katawohan sa Israel.

²⁵And as John was fulfilling his course, he said, What suppose ye that I am? I am not [he]. But behold, there cometh one after me the shoes of whose feet I am not worthy to unloose.

²⁵Ug sa nagtuman si Juan sa iyang katungdanan nag-ingon: Kinsa man ako sa inyong pagdahum? Dili ako mao siya. Apan ania karon, nagasunod ang usa sa akong ulahi, kansang sapin sa iyang mga tiil, dili ako takus makaghubad.

²⁶Brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and those among you that fear God, to us is the word of this salvation sent forth.

²⁶Kaigsoonan, mga anak sa kaliwatan ni Abraham, ug kaninyo nga mga nagakahadlok sa Dios, kaninyo gipadala kining pulong sa kaluwasan.

²⁷For they that dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath, fulfilled [them] by condemning [him].

²⁷Kay ang mga nagapuyo sa Jerusalem, ug ang ilang mga punoan, tungod sa wala nila pagpakaila kaniya, bisan sa mga tingog sa mga manalagna nga ginabasa sa tanang adlaw nga igpapahulay, nagtuman sa mga tagna pinaagi sa pagsilot kaniya sa kamatayon.

²⁸And though they found no cause of death [in him], yet asked they of Pilate that he should be slain.

²⁸Ug bisan wala silay hingpalgan nga ikapasangil kaniya sa kamatayon, gipangayo nila kang Pilato nga pagapatyon siya.

²⁹And when they had fulfilled all things that were written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.

²⁹Ug sa natuman nila ang tanang mga butang nga nahisulat mahatungod kaniya gihugos nila gikan sa kahoy, ug gibutang siya sa usa ka lubnganan.

³⁰But God raised him from the dead:

³⁰Apan gibanhaw siya sa Dios gikan sa mga minatay;

³¹and he was seen for many days of them that came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses unto the people.

³¹Ug sa daghang mga adlaw siya nagpakita sa mga nanungas uban kaniya sa Galilea padulong sa Jerusalem, nga sila mao ang mga saksi niya sa atubangan sa katawohan.

³²And we bring you good tidings of the promise made unto the fathers,

³²Ug kami nagamantala kaninyo sa Maayong Balita sa saad nga nabuhat ngadto sa mga ginikanan,

³³that God hath fulfilled the same unto our children, in that he raised up Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

³³Nga gituman sa Dios sa atong mga anak sa gibanhaw niya si Jesus; ingon usab nga nahisulat sa ikaduha nga Salmo: Ikaw mao ang Anak ko; gipanganak ko ikaw karon.

³⁴And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he hath spoken on this wise, I will give you the holy and sure [blessings] of David.

³⁴Ug mahitungod sa pagbanhaw kaniya gikan sa mga minatay, aron dili na gayud siya pabalikon sa kadunot, namulong sa ingon niini: Igahatag ko kanimo ang balaan ug malig-ong mga panalangin ni David.

³⁵Because he saith also in another [psalm], Thou wilt not give Thy Holy One to see corruption.

³⁵Tungod kay nagsulti siya usab sa laing Salmo: Dili mo itugot nga ang imong Balaan makakita ug kadunot.

³⁶For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

³⁶Kay, si David, sa tapus siya makag-alagad sa iyang kaliwatan sumala sa kabubut-on sa Dios, natulog, ug giipon sa iyang mga ginikanan ug nakakita siya ug kadunot;

³⁷but he whom God raised up saw no corruption.

³⁷Apan kadtong gibanhaw sa Dios, wala makakita ug kadunot.

³⁸Be it known unto you therefore, brethren, that through this man is proclaimed unto you remission of sins:

³⁸Busa, hingbaloan ninyo, mga igsoon, nga pinaagi niining tawohana ginamantala kaninyo ang pagpasaylo sa mga sala.

³⁹and by him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

³⁹Ug pinaagi kaniya ang tagsatagsa nga motoo, gipakamatarung gikan sa tanang mga butang, nga gikan niini wala kamo pakamatarunga pinaagi sa Kasugoan ni Moises.

⁴⁰Beware therefore, lest that come upon [you] which is spoken in the prophets:

⁴⁰Busa, magmatngon kamo tingali unya mahatabo kaninyo ang gisulti sa mga Manalagna:

⁴¹Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish; For I work a work in your days, A work which ye shall in no wise believe, if one declare it unto you.

⁴¹Tan-awa, kamong mga yubitan, ug kamo manghitingala, ug kamo; mangawala kay nagabuhat ako ug usa ka buhat sa inyong mga adlaw, usa ka buhat nga dili gayud ninyo pagtohoan, kong kini igasugilon sa uban kaninyo.

⁴²And as they went out, they besought that these words might be spoken to them the next sabbath.

⁴²Ug sa minggula sila, nagpakilooy sila nga isulti kanila kining mga pulong sa mosunod nga adlaw nga igpapahulay.

⁴³Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

⁴³Karon sa pagpamauli niadtong didto sa sinagoga, daghan sa mga Judio ug sa mga kinabig nga mga masinimbahon mingnunot kang Pablo ug kang Bernabe; nga, sa nagapakigsulti kanila, nagtambag kanila, sa pagpadayon sa gracia sa Dios.

⁴⁴And the next sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.

⁴⁴Ug sa sunod nga adlaw nga igpapahulay hapit ang tibook nga ciudad mingdugok sa pagpatalinghug sa pulong sa Dios.

⁴⁵But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

⁴⁵Apan sa pagkakita sa mga Judio sa mga panon sa katawohan, nangapuno sila sa kasina ug mingsupak sa mga butang nga giasoy ni Pablo, ug nanagpasipala sila.

⁴⁶And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

⁴⁶Unya si Pablo ug si Bernabe nanagsulti sa dakung kaisug ug nanag-ingon: Kinahanglan nga ang pulong sa Dios igamantala pag-una kaninyo. Apan kay ginasalikway ninyo, ug ginahukman ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon nga dili takus sa kinabuhi nga walay katapusan, ania karon, mangadto kami sa mga Gentil.

⁴⁷For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.

⁴⁷Kay mao kini ang gisugo sa Ginoo kanato: Gibutang ko ikaw nga kahayag sa mga Gentil, aron ikaw mamahimo nga alang sa kaluwasan hangtud sa kinatumyan sa yuta.

⁴⁸And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

⁴⁸Ug sa pagkadungog sa mga Gentil, nangalipay sila, ug gihimaya nila ang pulong sa Dios, ug mingtoo kadtong tanan nga mga gipili nga daan alang sa kinabuhing walay katapusan.

⁴⁹And the word of the Lord was spread abroad throughout all the region.

⁴⁹Ug ang pulong sa Ginoo nasangyaw sa tibook nga kayutaan.

⁵⁰But the Jews urged on the devout women of honorable estate, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders.

⁵⁰Apan gisugyotan sa mga Judio ang mga maampoong babaye nga mga dungganan sa kahimtang ug ang mga kadagkuan sa ciudad, ug nagpalihok sila ug usa ka paglutos batok kang Pablo, ug kang Bernabe, ug ilang giabug sila ngadto sa gawas sa ilang mga utlanan.

⁵¹But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.

⁵¹Apan gitaktak nila ang abug sa mga tiil batok kanila, ug nanagpangadto sila sa Iconio.

⁵²And the disciples were filled with joy with the Holy Spirit.

⁵²Ug ang mga tinon-an nangapuno sa kalipay ug sa Espiritu Santo.
