¹And certain men came down from Judaea and taught the brethren, [saying], Except ye be circumcised after the custom of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

¹Ug may mga tawo nga nanagpanlugsong gikan sa Judea, ug nanagpanudlo sa mga igsoon nga nagaingon: Gawas kong kamo managpacircuncidar subay sa batasan ni Moises, dili kamo maluwas.

²And when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and questioning with them, [the brethren] appointed that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

²Ug diha nga si Pablo ug si Bernabe may usa ka pagtinubagay ug panaglantugi nga dili diyutay uban kanila, ang kaigsoonan nagtudlo kang Pablo ug kang Bernabe ug uban pa kanila nga manungas sila sa Jerusalem ngadto sa mga apostoles ug sa mga anciano mahatungod niini nga gikalantugian.

³They therefore, being brought on their way by the church, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

³Busa, sa gihatud sila sa iglesia, sa ilang paggikan, gilatas nila ang Fenicia ug ang Samaria, nga nanugilon sa pagkakabig sa mga Gentil, ug nakahatag sila ug dakung kalipay sa tanang mga igsoon.

⁴And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church and the apostles and the elders, and they rehearsed all things that God had done with them.

⁴Ug sa pag-abut nila sa Jerusalem, gipanagdawat sila sa iglesia, ug sa mga apostoles, ug sa mga anciano; ug gisugilon nila ang daghang mga butang nga gibuhat sa Dios uban kanila.

⁵But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying, It is needful to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.

⁵Apan dihay uban nga sa pundok sa mga Fariseo, nga mingtoo, mitindog nga nanag-ingon: Kinahanglan nga pagcircuncidahan sila, ug sugoon nga managtuman sa Kasugoan ni Moises.

⁶And the apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider of this matter.

⁶Ug nanagtigum ang mga apostoles ug ang mga anciano sa pagsusi niining butanga.

⁷And when there had been much questioning, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Brethren, ye know that a good while ago God made choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

⁷Ug sa natapus ang dakung lantugi, mitindog si Pedro ug misulti kanila: Mga igsoon, nanghibalo kamo, dugay na karon nga kanato gipili ako sa Dios niadtong mga adlawa, aron nga sa akong baba pagapatalinghugan sa mga Gentil ang pulong sa Maayong Balita, ug pagatohoan.

⁸And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us;

⁸Ug ang Dios nga nakaila sa mga kasingkasing naghatag kanila ug pagpamatuod, nga nagahatag usab kanila sa Espiritu Santo, sama sa iyang gihimo kanato.

⁹and he made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

⁹Ug siya walay pinalabi kanato ug kanila, gihinloan niya ang ilang mga kasingkasing pinaagi sa pagtoo.

¹⁰Now therefore why make ye trial of God, that ye should put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

¹⁰Busa karon, nganong ginatintal ninyo ang Dios, nga gisangunan ninyo ug yugo ang liog sa mga tinon-an, nga bisan ang atong mga ginikanan, bisan kita dili makahimo sa pagdala?

¹¹But we believe that we shall be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in like manner as they.

¹¹Apan ginatohoan nato nga pinaagi sa gracia sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo maluwas kita, ingon usab sila sa mao nga paagi.

¹²And all the multitude kept silence; and they hearkened unto Barnabas and Paul rehearsing what signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles through them.

¹²Ug nangahilum ang tibook nga katilingban, ug nagapatalinghug kang Bernabe ug kang Pablo, nga nagasugilon sa dagkung mga ilhanan, ug mga katingalahan nga gibuhat sa Dios pinaagi kanila sa taliwala sa mga Gentil.

¹³And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Brethren, hearken unto me:

¹³Ug sa tapus sila mangahilum, mitubag si Jacobo, nga nagaingon: Mga igsoon, patalinghugi ninyo ako.

¹⁴Symeon hath rehearsed how first God visited the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

¹⁴Nagsugilon si Simon sa paagi nga ang Dios miduaw pag-una sa mga Gentil, aron pagakuhaon gikan kanila ang usa ka katawohan alang sa iyang ngalan.

¹⁵And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

¹⁵Ug niini nahiuyon ang mga pulong sa mga manalagna, sumala sa nahisulat.

¹⁶After these things I will return, And I will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen; And I will build again the ruins thereof, And I will set it up:

¹⁶Sa human niini magabalik ako, ug pagatukoron ko pag-usab ang tabernaculo ni David, nga napukan; ug pagatukoron ko pag-usab ang iyang nangatumpag, ug pagapatindugon ko kini.

¹⁷That the residue of men may seek after the Lord, And all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called,

¹⁷Aron nga ang nahabilin nga mga tawo, managpangita sa Ginoo, ug ang tanang mga Gentil nga sa ibabaw nila gitawag ang akong ngalan,

¹⁸Saith the Lord, who maketh these things known from of old.

¹⁸Nagaingon ang Ginoo nga nagbuhat niining mga butanga: Sukad pa sa kanhi nga mga katuigan hingbaloan na sa Dios ang tanan niya nga mga buhat.

¹⁹Wherefore my judgment is, that we trouble not them that from among the Gentiles turn to God;

¹⁹Tungod niini ang akong hukom mao, nga dili ta pagsamokon sila nga gikan sa taliwala sa mga Gentil namalik sa Dios;

²⁰but that we write unto them, that they abstain from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from what is strangled, and from blood.

²⁰Kondili nga pagasulatan ta sila, nga maglikay sila gikan sa mga kahugaw sa mga larawan, ug gikan sa pagpakighilawas, ug gikan sa mga linuok, ug gikan sa dugo.

²¹For Moses from generations of old hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath.

²¹Kay si Moises, sukad pa sa mga kaliwatan sa daang mga katuigan may nanagmantala kaniya niini sa tagsatagsa ka lungsod, ingon nga gibasa sa mga sinagoga sa tanang mga adlaw nga igpapahulay.

²²Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; [namely], Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

²²Unya gipakaayo sa mga apostoles ug sa mga anciano uban ang tibook nga iglesia, nga magpili sila ug mga tawo gikan sa ilang pundok; ug pagapaadtoon nila sa Antioquia, uban kang Pablo ug kang Bernabe, si Judas nga ginganlan si Barsabas, ug si Silas, mga tawong halangdon sa mga igsoon;

²³and they wrote [thus] by them, The apostles and the elders, brethren, unto the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greeting:

²³Ug sila nagsulat sa ingon pinaagi kanila: Ang mga apostoles ug ang mga anciano, ug ang mga igsoon, alang sa mga igsoon nga sa mga Gentil sa Antioquia, ug sa Siria, ug sa Cilicia: Ang among pangumosta.

²⁴Forasmuch as we have heard that certain who went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls; to whom we gave no commandment;

²⁴Tungod kay among hidunggan nga ang uban nga migikan dinhi kanamo nagsamok kaninyo sa mga pulong, sa pagpalibug sa inyong mga kalag, nga kanila wala kami magsugo,

²⁵it seemed good unto us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

²⁵Gipakaayo namo, nga nanaghiusa, ang pagpili niining mga tawo, ug paanhaon kaninyo kinuyogan sa atong mga hinigugma nga si Bernabe ug si Pablo,

²⁶men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁶Mga tawo, nga nagtugyan sa ilang kinabuhi tungod sa ngalan sa atong Ginoong Jesucristo.

²⁷We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also shall tell you the same things by word of mouth.

²⁷Busa, ginasugo namo si Judas ug si Silas, nga magaasoy kaninyo sa pulong sa mao nga mga butang pinaagi sa pulong sa baba:

²⁸For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:

²⁸Kay nahimut-an sa Espiritu Santo ug kanamo nga dili kamo pagdat-ugan sa labi pang dakung lulan kay niining mga butang kinahanglan,

²⁹that ye abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which if ye keep yourselves, it shall be well with you. Fare ye well.

²⁹Nga maglikay kamo gikan sa mga butang nga hinalad sa mga larawan, ug gikan sa dugo, ug gikan sa mga linuok ug gikan sa pagpakighilawas; nga kong kini pagamatngonan ninyo, makaayo kaninyo.

³⁰So they, when they were dismissed, came down to Antioch; and having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle.

³⁰Busa, sa gipalakaw na sila, miabut sa Antioquia; ug sa nagtigum ang panon sa katawohan, gihatag nila ang sulat.

³¹And when they had read it, they rejoiced for the consolation.

³¹Ug sa nakabasa sila niini nangalipay sila sa tambag.

³²And Judas and Silas, being themselves also prophets, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

³²Ug si Judas ug si Silas, nga mga manalagna usab, nanagtambag sa mga igsoon sa daghang mga pulong, ug nanagpalig-on kanila.

³³And after they had spent some time [there], they were dismissed in peace from the brethren unto those that had sent them forth.

³³Ug sa nakapabilin sila didto sa may pila ka panahon, gipapauli sila uban ang pakigdait gikan sa mga igsoon, ngadto niadtong mga nagsugo kanila.

³⁴[But it seemed good unto Silas to abide there.]

³⁴Apan nakapahimuot kang Silas ang pagpabilin didto.

³⁵But Paul and Barnabas tarried in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

³⁵Apan si Pablo ug si Bernabe nagpabilin sa Antioquia, nga nagapanudlo ug nagamantala sa pulong sa Ginoo, tinabangan sa uban nga daghanan usab.

³⁶And after some days Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us return now and visit the brethren in every city wherein we proclaimed the word of the Lord, [and see] how they fare.

³⁶Ug sa miagi ang pila ka adlaw, nag-ingon si Pablo kang Bernabe: Balikon ug duawon ta karon ang mga igsoon sa tanan nga mga ciudad, nga atong gibalitaan sa pulong sa Ginoo, kong naunsa sila.

³⁷And Barnabas was minded to take with them John also, who was called Mark.

³⁷Ug gihunahuna ni Bernabe nga paubanon usab nila si Juan, nga may bansagon nga Marcos.

³⁸But Paul thought not good to take with them him who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

³⁸Apan gihunahuna ni Pablo, nga dili maayo ang pagdala uban kanila niadtong mibulag kanila sa Pamfilia, ug wala mouban kanila sa bulohaton.

³⁹And there arose a sharp contention, so that they parted asunder one from the other, and Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away unto Cyprus;

³⁹Unya sila may usa ka dakung paglinalisay, sa pagkaagi nga mibulag ang usa gikan sa usa; ug si Marcos giubanan ni Bernabe, ug milayag padulong sa Cipro.

⁴⁰but Paul choose Silas, and went forth, being commended by the brethren to the grace of the Lord.

⁴⁰Apan gipili ni Pablo si Silas, ug milakaw, nga gitugyan siya sa mga igsoon sa gracia sa Dios.

⁴¹And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

⁴¹Ug gihapit niya ang Siria ug ang Cilicia aron sa pagpalig-on sa mga iglesia.
