¹For I would have you know how greatly I strive for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

¹Kay buot ko nga inyong hibaloan kong daw unsa ka daku ang akong pag-pakigbisug tungod kaninyo, ug tungod kanila nga atua sa Laodicea, ug tungod sa tanang wala makakita sa akong nawong bahin sa unod;

²that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, [even] Christ,

²Aron paglipayon ang ilang mga kasingkasing, nga sa gihiusa sila sa gugma, ug alang sa bug-os nga mga pagkadato sa hingpit nga pagsalig sa pagsabut, aron sila managpakaila sa tinago sa Dios, nga mao si Cristo;

³in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden.

³Nga kaniya anaa natago ang tanang mga bahandi sa kaalam ug kahibalo.

⁴This I say, that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.

⁴Kini giingon ko aron walay bisan kinsa nga maglimbong kaninyo sa pulong nga mabihagon.

⁵For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

⁵Kay bisan ako wala diha kaninyo sa unod, apan sa espiritu anaa ako uban kaninyo, nga nagakalipay ug nagatan-aw sa inyong pagkabutang ug pagkalig-on sa inyong pagtoo diha kang Cristo.

⁶As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him,

⁶Busa, maingon ngagidawat ninyo si Cristo Jesus nga Ginoo, sa ingon niana managgawi kamo diha kaniya,

⁷rooted and builded up in him, and established in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

⁷Nga gipagamut ug gitukod diha kaniya, ug ginapalig-on sa inyong pagtoo, bisan ingon sa gitudlo kaninyo, nga madagayaon sa pagpasalamat.

⁸Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:

⁸Magmatngon kamo, aron dili kamo mabihag pinaagi sa filosofia ug sa pag-limbong nga walay-pulos, sumala sa gikabilinbilin nga sugilon sa mga tawo, sumala sa mga bata nga pagtolon-an sa kalibutan, ug dili sumala kang Cristo.

⁹for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,

⁹Kay diha kaniya nagapuyo ang bug-os nga kahupnganan sa pagka-Dios, sa lawas gayud,

¹⁰and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power:

¹⁰Ug diha kaniya kamo napuno, nga siya mao ang ulo sa tanang kapunoanan ug kagamhanan;

¹¹in whom ye were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;

¹¹Nga kaniya mga gicircuncicionan usab kamo sa circuncicion nga wala pagbuhata sa mga kamot pinaagi sa pag-ayad sa lawas sa unod, diha sa circuncicion ni Cristo;

¹²having been buried with him in baptism, wherein ye were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

¹²Nga sa gilubong kamo uban kaniya diha sa bautismo, diin gibanhaw usab kamo uban kaniya, pinaagi sa pagtoo sa buhat sa Dios, nga nagbanhaw kaniya gikan sa mga minalay.

¹³And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, [I say], did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;

¹³Ug kamo, sa nangamatay na tungod sa inyong mga paglapas ug sa pagkawalay-circuncicion sa inyong unod, kamo gibuhi niya sa tingub uban kaniya, nga nagpasaylo kanato sa atong tanan nga mga paglapas;

¹⁴having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross;

¹⁴Sa gipala ang sinulat sa mga tulomanon nga batok kanato nga mao ang supak kanato; ug gikuha niya kini sa taliwala, nga iyang gilansang kini sa cruz;

¹⁵having despoiled the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

¹⁵Sa gihuboan niya ang mga punoan ug mga kagamhanan, gibuhat sila nga usa ka talan-awon sa dayag gayud, nga niini gidaug niya sila.

¹⁶Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a feast day or a new moon or a sabbath day:

¹⁶Busa, ayaw pagtugot nga may bisan kinsa nga maghukom kaninyo tungod sa kalan-on kun sa ilimnon, kun sa bahin sa fiesta, kun sa bag-ong bulan, kun sa adlaw nga igpapahulay:

¹⁷which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ's.

¹⁷Nga maoy usa ka landong sa mga butang nga umalabut; apan ang lawas iya ni Cristo.

¹⁸Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

¹⁸Ayaw pagtugot nga may bisan kinsa nga magatikas kaninyo sa inyong ganti pinaagi sa kinabubut-ong pagpaubos ug pagsimba sa mga manolonda, nga nagabarug sa mga butang nga iyang nakita, nga sa walay hinungdan nagpaburot sa iyang panghunahuna nga lawasnon.

¹⁹and not holding fast the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and bands, increasing with the increase of God.

¹⁹Ug wala magapabilin sa Ulo, nga gikan kaniya ang tibook nga lawas, nasangkap sa mga bahin ug gibugkos pagtingub pinaagi sa mga sumpay sa mga lutahan, ug sa kaugatan, nga nagatubo sa pagtubo nga iya sa Dios.

²⁰If ye died with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, do ye subject yourselves to ordinances,

²⁰Kong kamo nangamatay uban kang Cristo gikan sa mga bata nga pagtolon-an sa kalibutan, ngano ba, ingon nga mga buhi sa kalibutan, nagapasakup kamo sa inyong kaugalingon sa mga tulomanon:

²¹Handle not, nor taste, nor touch

²¹Dili ka magkupot, ni magtilaw, ni maghikap,

²²(all which things are to perish with the using), after the precepts and doctrines of men?

²²(Nga kanang tanan nga mga butang, magakawala uban sa paggamit), uyon sa mga sugo ug sa mga pagtolon-an sa mga tawo?

²³Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and severity to the body; [but are] not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

²³Ang maong mga butang, sa pagkamatuod, may pagpasundayag sa kaalam sa kinabubut-ong pagsimba, ug sa pagpaubos ug sa pagsakit sa lawas; apan mga walay kapuslanan batok sa pagpatuyang sa unod.
