¹And you [did he make alive,] when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins,

¹Ug gihatagan kamo ug kinabuhi sa mga patay kamo tungod sa mga paglapas ug mga sala;

²wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;

²Nga kanhi mao ang inyong panag-gawi uyon sa kahimtang niining kalibutan, uyon sa principe sa kagamhanan sa hangin, sa espiritu nga karon nagabuhat diha sa mga anak sa pagkadili-masinulondon;

³among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:--

³Nga sa taliwala nila nanagkinabuhi usab kita kaniadto diha sa mga kailibgon sa atong unod, nga nanagbuhat sa kabubut-on sa unod ug sa mga hunahuna; ug sa kinaiya sa mga anak sa kaligutgut, bisan ingon usab sa uban.

⁴but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

⁴Apan ang Dios nga dato sa kalooy, tungod sa iyang dakung gugma nga iyang gihigugma kanato,

⁵even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),

⁵Bisan sa mga patay kita tungod sa atong mga paglapas, gihatagan kita niya ug kinabuhi uban kang Cristo; pinaagi sa gracia naluwas kamo;

⁶and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly [places], in Christ Jesus:

⁶Ug gibanhaw kita uban kaniya, ug gipalingkod kita uban kaniya sa mga langitnon nga dapit, diha kang Cristo Jesus:

⁷that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:

⁷Aron siya sa mga katuigan nga palaabuton, makapahayag sa labaw gayud nga kadato sa iyang gracia sa kaayo nga alang kanato diha kang Cristo Jesus:

⁸for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, [it is] the gift of God;

⁸Kay tungod sa gracia naluwas kamo pinaagi sa pagtoo, ug kana dili gikan sa inyong kaugalingon; kini hatag sa Dios:

⁹not of works, that no man should glory.

⁹Dili tungod sa mga buhat, aron walay bisan kinsa nga mangandak.

¹⁰For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

¹⁰Kay mga binuhat kita niya, nga gibuhat kita diha kang Cristo Jesus alang sa mga buhat nga maayo, nga gitagana sa Dios, aron managgawi kita diha kanila.

¹¹Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;

¹¹Tungod niini, hinumdumi ninyo, nga kaniadto kamo, nga mga Gentil sa unod, ug ginganlan kamo nga mga walay-circuncicion niadtong ginganlan nga circuncicion diha sa unod nga gibuhat sa mga kamot:

¹²that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

¹²Nga niadtong panahona kamo nanghimulag gikan kang Cristo, nahilayo kamo sa katilingban sa Israel, ug mga dumuloong sa mga tugon sa saad, nga kamo mga walay paglaum ug mga walay Dios dinhi sa kalibutan.

¹³But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.

¹³Apan karon, kang Cristo Jesus kamo nga kaniadto nanghilayo, gipahiduol kamo tungod sa dugo ni Cristo;

¹⁴For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition,

¹⁴Kay siya mao ang atong pakigdait, nga naghimo ug usa sa duruha, nga maoy nagguba sa bungbung nga nakapabulag,

¹⁵having abolished in the flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, [so] making peace;

¹⁵Sa gipaila niya pinaagi sa iyang unod ang panagkaaway, bisan ang Balaod sa mga Kasugoan nga nagsakup sa mga tulomanon; aron gikan sa duruha mahimo niya diha sa iyang kaugalingon ang usa ka bag-ong tawo, sa ingon niini nagabuhat siya sa pakigdait;

¹⁶and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

¹⁶Ug aron makapasig-uli ngadto sa Dios kanila nga duruha diha sa usa ka lawas pinaagi sa cruz, sa napatay niya ang panagkaaway pinaagi niini.

¹⁷and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh:

¹⁷Ug sa nakaanhi siya, nagwali siya sa pakigdait kaninyo nga atua sa halayo, ug pakigdait kanila nga ania sa haduol:

¹⁸for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.

¹⁸Kay pinaagi kaniya ang usa ug usa kanato may pultahan diha sa usa ka Espiritu ngadto sa Amahan.

¹⁹So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,

¹⁹Busa dili na kamo mga dumuloong ug mga umalagi, kondili mga tagilungsod kamo uban sa mga balaan ug sa panimalay sa Dios,

²⁰being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone;

²⁰Sa mga tinukod kamo sa ibabaw sa patukoranan sa mga apostoles ug sa mga manalagna, nga si Jesucristo gayud mao ang pangulo nga bato sa pamag-ang,

²¹in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;

²¹Nga kaniya ang tagsatagsa nga tinukod, gipahaum aron mabalay nga magatubo sa pagkausa ka templo nga balaan diha sa Ginoo;

²²in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

²²Nga kaniya, kamo usab ginatukod sa tingub sa pagkausa ka puloy-anan sa Dios nga anaa sa Espiritu.
