¹And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.

¹Ug si Abram mitungas gikan sa Egipto padulong sa habagatan, siya ug ang iyang asawa, ug ang tanan nga iya, ug uban kaniya si Lot.

²And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

²Ug si Abram dato kaayo sa kahayupan, sa salapi ug sa bulawan.

³And he went on his journeys from the South even to Beth-el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth-el and Ai,

³Ug siya mipadayon gikan sa habagatan hangtud sa Bethel, hangtud sa dapit nga una nga nahamutangan sa iyang balongbalong, sa taliwala sa Bethel ug Hai.

⁴unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of Jehovah.

⁴Hangtud sa dapit sa halaran nga unang gibuhat niya didto; ug didto si Abram nangaliya sa ngalan ni Jehova.

⁵And Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

⁵Ug ingon usab si Lot, nga nagalakat uban kang Abram, may mga panon sa carnero ug panon sa vaca, ug mga balongbalong.

⁶And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

⁶Ug ang yuta wala makapaigo kanila, aron nga magapuyo sila nga magakatipon, kay ang ilang mga bahandi daghan, ug dili mahimo nga sila magpuyo nga magatipon.

⁷And there was a strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelt then in the land.

⁷Ug dihay pagkabingkil sa mga magbalantay sa kahayupan ni Abram ug sa mga magbalantay sa kahayupan ni Lot. Ug ang Canaanhon ug ang Persehanon nanagpuyo niadtong yutaa.

⁸And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are brethren.

⁸Ug si Abram miingon kang Lot: Hinaut unta nga walay pagkabingkil kanimo ug kanako, sa akong magbalantay ug sa imo, kay magsoon kita.

⁹Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me. If [thou wilt take] the left hand, then I will go to the right. Or if [thou take] the right hand, then I will go to the left.

⁹Dili ba anaa man ang tibook nga yuta sa atubangan mo? Ginapakilooy ko kanimo, nga bumulag ka kanako. Kong umadto ka sa wala , ako moadto sa too, kong ikaw sa too, ako moadto sa wala.

¹⁰And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the Plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest unto Zoar.

¹⁰Ug gihayat ni Lot ang iyang mga mata, ug nakita niya ang tanan nga Kapatagan sa Jordan, nga kini gibahaan pag-ayo sa tubig, sa wala pa malaglag ni Jehova ang Sodoma ug Gomorra sama sa tanaman ni Jehova, sama sa yuta sa Egipto, kong ikaw moadto paingon sa Zoar.

¹¹So Lot chose him all the Plain of the Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

¹¹Unya gipili ni Lot alang kaniya ang tibook nga Kapatagan sa Jordan; ug mipadulong si Lot sa silangan. Ug nanagbulag sila ang usa ug usa.

¹²Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the Plain, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

¹²Si Abram mipuyo sa yuta sa Canaan, ug si Lot mipuyo sa mga lungsod sa Kapatagan, ug gibalhin niya ang iyang balongbalong hangtud sa Sodoma.

¹³Now the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners against Jehovah exceedingly.

¹³Karon ang mga tawo sa Sodoma mga dautan ug hilabihan gayud pagkamakasasala batok kang Jehova.

¹⁴And Jehovah said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward:

¹⁴Ug si Jehova nag-ingon kang Abram, sa human na si Lot makabulag kaniya: Iyahat karon ang imong mga mata, ug tuman-aw ka sukad sa dapit nga imong hingmutangan ngadto sa amihanan, ug ngadto sa habagatan ug ngadto sa silangan ug ngadto sa kasadpan.

¹⁵for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

¹⁵Kay ang tanan nga yuta nga imong gitan-aw, igahatag ko kanimo ug sa imong kaliwatan ngadto sa walay katapusan.

¹⁶And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: So that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then may thy seed also be numbered.

¹⁶Ug pagabuhaton ko ang imong kaliwatan nga ingon sa abug sa yuta, nga kong adunay tawo nga arang makaisip sa abug sa yuta, ang imong kaliwatan usab arang maisip.

¹⁷Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for unto thee will I give it.

¹⁷Tumindog ka, baktasa ang yuta sa iyang gitas-on ug sa iyang kalapdon, kay igahatag ko kini kanimo.

¹⁸And Abram moved his tent, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built there an altar unto Jehovah.

¹⁸Ug gibalhin ni Abram ang iyang balongbalong, ug miadto ug gipahamutang kini sa kakahoyan sa Mamre, nga atua sa Hebron, ug nagtukod siya didto ug usa ka halaran alang kang Jehova.
