¹Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.

¹Busa, mangahadlok kita, kay tingali unya, sanglit may saad nga gibilin sa pagpasulod sa iyang kapahulayan, may bisan kinsa kaninyo nga daw dili makakab-ut niini.

²For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.

²Kay sa pagkamatuod ginawali usab kanato ang Maayong Balita ingon usab kanila; apan ang pulong nga hingdunggan wala nila pagpusli, tungod kay wala pag-ubani sa pagtoo niadtong mga nanagpakadungog;

³For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

³Kay kita nga mingtoo makasulod niadto nga kapahulayan, bisan ingon sa gisulti niya: Sumala sa akong ginapanumpa tungod sa akong kaligutgut, dili sila makasulod sa akong kapahulayan, bisan pa ang mga buhat nangahuman sukad sa pagtukod sa kalibutan.

⁴For he hath said somewhere of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;

⁴Kay siya nag-ingon sa laing bahin mahitungod sa ikapito ka adlaw, sa ingon niini: Ug ang Dios mipahulay sa tanan niyang mga bulohaton sa ikapito ka adlaw.

⁵and in this [place] again, They shall not enter into my rest.

⁵Ug niining bahina usab: dili sila magsulod sa akong kapahulayan.

⁶Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,

⁶Busa, sanglit matuod man gihapon nga may pipila nga kinahanglan mosulod didto, ug sila nga ginawalihan sa Maayong Balita kanhi wala makahimo sa pagsulod tungod sa pagkamasukihon,

⁷he again defineth a certain day, To-day, saying in David so long a time afterward (even as hath been said before), To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts.

⁷Nagatudlo siya pag-usab ug usa ka adlaw, Karong-adlawa, nagaingon pinaagi kang David, sa human sa hataas nga panahon (bisan ingon sa gisulti niya kaniadto) Karong-adlawa kong makadungog kamo sa iyang tingog, dili ninyo pagpatig-ahon ang inyong mga kasingkasing.

⁸For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

⁸Kay kong si Josue mihatag pa kanila ug kapahulayan, wala unta siya magsulti mahitungod sa laing adlaw.

⁹There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.

⁹Busa nagapabilin pa ang kapahulayan nga sa adlaw nga igpapahulay alang sa katawohan sa Dios.

¹⁰For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

¹⁰Kay siya nga nakasulod sa iyang kapahulayan, nakapahulay usab siya sa iyang kaugalingon gikan sa iyang mga buhat, sumala sa gihimo sa Dios gikan sa iyang mga buhat.

¹¹Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

¹¹Busa maninguha kita sa pagsulod niana nga kapahulayan, aron walay bisan kinsa nga tawo mahulog sa mao usab nga panig-ingnan sa pagkamasukihon.

¹²For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

¹²Kay ang pulong sa Dios buhi ug maabtik, ug labi pang mahait kay sa bisan unsa nga espada nga duha ing sulab, ug nagadulot hangtud sa pagkabahin sa kalag ug sa espiritu, sa mga lutahan ug sa mga utok sa bukog, malagmit sa pag-ila sa mga hunahuna ug sa mga tuyo sa kasingkasing.

¹³And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

¹³Ug walay binuhat nga dili madayag sa iyang atubangan; kondili ang tanang mga butang mga hubo ug binuksan sa atubangan sa mga mata niadtong atong pagahatagan ug cuenta.

¹⁴Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

¹⁴Busa sa nabatonan ta ang usa ka labawng sacerdote nga nakalatas sa kalangitan, si Jesus, ang Anak sa Dios, managlig-on kita sa atong pagsugid.

¹⁵For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.

¹⁵Kay kita waiay labawng sacerdote nga dili arang matandog sa pagbati sa atong mga kaluyahon; kondili usa nga gitintal sa tanang mga paagi sama kanato, apan walay sala.

¹⁶Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help [us] in time of need.

¹⁶Busa, manuol kita nga may pagpangahas ngadto sa trono sa gracia, aron kita makadawat sa kalooy, ug makakaplag sa gracia nga makatabang kanato sa takna sa pagkinahanglan.
