¹For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

¹Kay kini si Meichisedec, hari sa Salem, sacerdote sa Dios nga Hataas Uyamut, misugat kang Abraham nga nagapauli gikan sa pagpamatay sa mga hari, ug nanalangin kaniya;

²to whom also Abraham divided a tenth part of all (being first, by interpretation, King of righteousness, and then also King of Salem, which is King of peace;

²Kang kinsa usab si Abraham mibahin sa ikapulo sa tanan, (sanglit una sa tanan, kong hubaron, Hari sa pagkamatarung, ug unya usab Hari sa Salem, kong sayron, Hari sa pakigdait;

³without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like unto the Son of God), abideth a priest continually.

³Walay amahan, walay inahan, walay kagikanan; nga walay sinugdan sa mga adlaw; bisan katapusan sa kinabuhi, kondili gibuhat nga sama sa Anak sa Dios), nagapadayon nga sacerdote nga sa gihapon.

⁴Now consider how great this man was, unto whom Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the chief spoils.

⁴Karon, palandunga kong unsa ang pagkadaku niining tawohana, nga kaniya si Abraham nga patriarca naghatag sa ikapulo sa mga labing maayo sa mga inagaw.

⁵And they indeed of the sons of Levi that receive the priest's office have commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though these have come out of the loins of Abraham:

⁵Ug kadtong sa mga anak ni Levi nga nanagdawat sa katungdanan sa pagkasacerdote, may sugo sa pagkuha sa mga ikapulo gikan sa mga tawo sumala sa Kasugoan, nga gikan sa ilang mga igsoon, bisan nagagikan kini sila sa mga hawak ni Abraham:

⁶but he whose genealogy is not counted from them hath taken tithes of Abraham, and hath blessed him that hath the promises.

⁶Apan siya kang kansang kagikanan wala isipa nga gikan kanila, nagkuha sa mga ikapulo gikan kang Abraham, ug nagapanalangin niadtong nagadavvat sa saad.

⁷But without any dispute the less is blessed of the better.

⁷Apan sa walay bisan unsa nga paglalis, ang labing ubos gipanalanginan sa labing labaw.

⁸And here men that die receive tithes; but there one, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

⁸Ug dinhi ang mga tawo nga mamatay nagadawat sa mga ikapulo; apan didto ang usa, nga kaniya ginapamatuod nga siya buhi.

⁹And, so to say, through Abraham even Levi, who receiveth tithes, hath paid tithes;

⁹Ug, busa pagaingnon niini, pinaagi kang Abraham, bisan si Levi nga nagadawat sa mga ikapulo, nagbayad sa mga ikapulo:

¹⁰for he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchizedek met him.

¹⁰Kay didto pa siya sa mga hawak sa iyang amahan, sa gisugat siya ni Melchisedec.

¹¹Now if there was perfection through the Levitical priesthood (for under it hath the people received the law), what further need [was there] that another priest should arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be reckoned after the order of Aaron?

¹¹Karon, kong diha pay pagkahingpit pinaagi sa pagkasacerdote ni Levi (kay sa ilalum niini midawat ang mga tawo sa Kasugoan), unsa pa may pagkinahanglan nga may laing sacerdote nga patindugon sumala sa laray ni Melchisedec, ug dili pagaisipon sama sa laray ni Aaron?

¹²For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

¹²Kay sa nailisan ang pagkasacerdote, tungod sa kinahanglan usab ang Kasugoan nailisan.

¹³For he of whom these things are said belongeth to another tribe, from which no man hath given attendance at the altar.

¹³Kay ang ginapamulongan niining mga butanga sakup sa lain nga banay, nga gikan niini walay tawo nga nakaalagad sa halaran.

¹⁴For it is evident that our Lord hath sprung out of Judah; as to which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priests.

¹⁴Kay dayag gayud nga ang atong Ginoo natawo gikan kang Juda; nga niining banaya si Moises wala magsulti mahitungod sa mga sacerdote.

¹⁵And [what we say] is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there ariseth another priest,

¹⁵Ug ang atong ginapamulong labi pa gayud nga dayag, kong sumala sa kasamahan ni Melchisedec may mobangon nga laing sacerdote,

¹⁶who hath been made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life:

¹⁶Nga ginahimo, dili sumala sa balaod sa lawasnon nga Kasugoan, kondili sumala sa gahum sa kinabuhi nga walay katapusan:

¹⁷for it is witnessed [of him,] Thou art a priest for ever After the order of Melchizedek.

¹⁷Kay ginapamatud-an mahitungod kaniya: Ikaw sacerdote sa walay katapusan, sumala sa laray ni Melchisedec.

¹⁸For there is a disannulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness

¹⁸Kay giwagtang ang nahauna nga sugo tungod sa kahuyang ug pagkawalay kapuslanan niini.

¹⁹(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope, through which we draw nigh unto God.

¹⁹(Kay walay bisan unsa nga gihingpit sa Kasugoan), ug ang pagpasulod tungod niini sa labing maayo nga paglaum, nga pinaagi niini mahiduol kita sa Dios.

²⁰And inasmuch as [it is] not without the taking of an oath

²⁰Ug sanglit kay kini dili sa walay pagpanumpa.

²¹(for they indeed have been made priests without an oath; but he with an oath by him that saith of him, The Lord sware and will not repent himself, Thou art a priest for ever);

²¹(Kay sa pagkamatuod sila gipanaghimo nga mga sacerdote sa walay panumpa, apan siya sa may panumpa tungod niadtong nag-ingon mahitungod kaniya: ang Ginoo nanumpa ug dili siya sa iyang kaugalingon magbasul. Ikaw sacerdote sa walay katapusan);

²²by so much also hath Jesus become the surety of a better covenant.

²²Sa ingon usab si Jesus nahimong kalig-onan sa usa ka labing maayong tugon.

²³And they indeed have been made priests many in number, because that by death they are hindered from continuing:

²³Ug sila gayud nangahimong mga sacerdote nga daghan kaayo, kay tungod sa kamatayon ginapugngan sila sa pagpadayon;

²⁴but he, because he abideth for ever, hath his priesthood unchangeable.

²⁴Apan siya, tungod kay nagapadayon sa walay katapusan, nagabaton sa iyang pagkasacerdote nga walay pagkabalhin.

²⁵Wherefore also he is able to save to the uttermost them that draw near unto God through him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

²⁵Busa usab siya arang makaluwas sa hingpit gayud kanila nga nanagduol ngadto sa Dios pinaagi kaniya, sanglit siya buhi sa gihapon aron sa pagpangamuyo alang kanila.

²⁶For such a high priest became us, holy, guileless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

²⁶Kay ang mao nga labawng sacerdote nahiangay kanato: balaan, walay sala, walay buling, ginahin gikan sa mga makasasala, ug gihimong labing hataas kay sa kalangitan;

²⁷who needeth not daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for the [sins] of the people: for this he did once for all, when he offered up himself.

²⁷Nga wala magkinahanglan sa paghalad adlaw-adlaw sa mga halad, sa ma niadtong mga labawng sacerdote, una sa tanan, alang sa iyang kaugalingong mga sala, ug unya alang sa mga sala sa mga tawo: kay kini iyang gibuhat sa makausa alang sa walay katapusan, sa paghalad niya sa iyang kaugalingon.

²⁸For the law appointeth men high priests, having infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was after the law, [appointeth] a Son, perfected for evermore.

²⁸Kay ang Kasugoan nagatudlo ug mga tawo nga may mga kaluyahon ingon nga mga labawng sacerdote, apan ang pulong sa panumpa nga ulahi sa Kasugoan nagatudlo ug usa ka Anak, nga ginahingpit sa walay katapusan.
