¹Come now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.

¹Nan karon, mga dato, managpanghilak kamo, ug managtiyabaw kamo, tungod sa mga pagkaalaut nga moabut kaninyo.

²Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.

²Ang inyong mga bahandi mangadunot, ug ang inyong mga panapton ginakutkut sa mga bokbok.

³Your gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.

³Ang inyong bulawan ug salapi ginatay-an, ug ang ilang taya magapamatuod batok kaninyo, ug magalamoy sa inyong unod sama sa kalayo. Nagatigum kamo sa inyong mga bahandi diha sa katapusan nga mga adlaw.

⁴Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

⁴Ania karon, ang suhol sa mga mamomoo, nga nag-anhi sa inyong mga uma nga inyong gilimolimo, nagasinggit, ug ang singgit sa mga mangangani, nakaabut sa mga igdulungog sa Ginoo sa kasundalohan.

⁵Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.

⁵Nangabuhi kamo dinhi sa yuta, sa pagpahimuot sa lawas ug sa kalipayan; ginapatambok ninyo ang inyong mga kasingkasing tagana sa adlaw nga ting-ihaw.

⁶Ye have condemned, ye have killed the righteous [one]; he doth not resist you.

⁶Gihukman ninyo, ug gipatay ninyo ang matarung; siya wala mosukol kaninyo.

⁷Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.

⁷Busa mga igsoon, managpailub kamo hangtud sa pagpadayag sa Ginoo. Ania karon, ang mag-uuma nagahulat nga may pagpailub sa matinggas nga abut sa yuta hangtud kini makadawat sa ulan nga sayo ug nga ulahi.

⁸Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

⁸Magpailub usab kamo; lig-ona ang inyong mga kasingkasing: kay ang pag-abut sa Ginoo haduol na.

⁹Murmur not, brethren, one against another, that ye be not judged: behold, the judge standeth before the doors.

⁹Mga igsoon, dili kamo magbagulbol ang usa batok sa usa, aron dili kamo paghukman. Ania karon, ang maghuhukom nagatindog sa atubangan sa mga pultahan.

¹⁰Take, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.

¹⁰Mga igsoon, kuhaa ninyo nga sulondan sa pag-antus sa mga kadautan ug sa pagpailub, ang mga manalagna nga nanagsulti tungod sa ngalan sa Ginoo.

¹¹Behold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.

¹¹Ania karon, ginatawag ta sila nga mga bulahan nga nagapadayon sa mapailubon. Hingdunggan ninyo ang pagpailub ni Job, ug nakita ninyo ang tuyo sa gihatag kaniya sa Ginoo; daw unsa nga pagkamapuanguron, ug pagkamaloloy-on gayud ang Ginoo.

¹²But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under judgment.

¹²Apan labaw sa tanan, mga igsoon, dili kamo manumpa, bisan tungod sa langit, bisan tungod sa yuta, bisan sa lain nga pagpanumpa; kondili nga ang inyong oo, oo; ug ang inyong dili, dili; aron kamo dili mahulog sa hukom.

¹³Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.

¹³Ang uban kaninyo nagaantus ba? Mag-ampo siya. Nagakalipay ba ang uban kaninyo? Mag-awit siya sa salmos.

¹⁴Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

¹⁴Nagmasakiton ba ang uban kaninyo? Tawgon niya ang mga anciano sa iglesia ug manag-ampo sila alang kaniya, nga hidhiran siya sa lana tungod sa ngalan sa Ginoo.

¹⁵and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

¹⁵Ug ang pag-ampo sa pagtoo, magaluwas kaniya nga nagamasakiton, ug pagabangunon siya sa Ginoo; ug kong nakasala siya, pagapasayloon siya niana.

¹⁶Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

¹⁶Busa, magsinugiray ang usa ug usa kaninyo sa inyong mga sala, ug mag-ampo ang usa alang sa usa, aron mangaayo kamo. Ang pagpangamuyo sa usa ka tawong matarung, daku ug kahimoan sa magbuhat niini.

¹⁷Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

¹⁷Si Elias, tawo nga sama kanato sa kinaiya, nag-ampo sa mainiton gayud nga dili unta mag-ulan, ug wala mag-ulan, sa yuta sulod sa totolo ka tuig ug unom ka bulan.

¹⁸And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

¹⁸Ug nag-ampo siya sa pag-usab, ug ang langit mihatag ug ulan, ug ang yuta naghatag sa iyang abut.

¹⁹My brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;

¹⁹Mga igsoon ko, kong ang uban kaninyo mahisalaag gikan sa kamatuoran, ug may usa nga magakabig kaniya;

²⁰let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.

²⁰Pahibaloa siya nga ang nagakabig sa usa ka makasasala, gikan sa pagkahisalaag niya sa iyang dalan, makaluwas sa usa ka kalag gikan sa kamatayon, ug magatabon siya sa daghang mga sala.
