¹Why are times not laid up by the Almighty? And why do not they that know him see his days?

¹Ngano nga wala hapniga sa Makagagahum ang kapanahonan? Ug ngano man nga kadtong managpakaila kaniya wala patan-awa sa iyang mga adlaw?

²There are that remove the landmarks; They violently take away flocks, and feed them.

²Adunay mga tawo nga nanagbalhin sa mga utlanan; Sila managpanulis sa kahayupan, ug managpakaon kanila.

³They drive away the ass of the fatherless; They take the widow's ox for a pledge.

³Sila manag-abog sa asno niadtong mga ilo; Ug ang vaca sa balong babaye ilang kuhaon tungod sa pasalig.

⁴They turn the needy out of the way: The poor of the earth all hide themselves.

⁴Ilang gibalibaran ang mga makililimos: Ang mga kabus niining kalibutan manago tungod kanila.

⁵Behold, as wild asses in the desert They go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food; The wilderness [yieldeth] them bread for their children.

⁵Ania karon, ingon sa mga asnong ihalas sa kamingawan, Sila mangadto sa ilang buhatan, managpangita nga masingkamuton sa ilang kalan-on; Ang kamingawan nagahatag kanila ug makaon alang sa ilang mga anak.

⁶They cut their provender in the field; And they glean the vintage of the wicked.

⁶Sila nga namutol sa ilang kompay diha sa kapatagan; Ug sila nagapanghagdaw sa mga kaparrasan sa mga tawo nga dautan.

⁷They lie all night naked without clothing, And have no covering in the cold.

⁷Ug sila, walay mga bisti, managpanghigda sa tibook gabii, Ug walay ikahabol diha sa katugnaw.

⁸They are wet with the showers of the mountains, And embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

⁸Sila nangahumod sa mga taligsik sa kabukiran, Ug naghalog sa kapangpangan tungod sa pagka-walay silonganan.

⁹There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, And take a pledge of the poor;

⁹Adunay mga tawo nga managsakmit sa mga ilo gikan sa dughan, Ug modawat ug pasalig sa butang nga iya sa kabus;

¹⁰[So that] they go about naked without clothing, And being hungry they carry the sheaves.

¹⁰Busa sila nagasuroy nga mga hubo, Ug tungod kay walay kaon, nagapas-an sila ug mga dagami.

¹¹They make oil within the walls of these men; They tread [their] winepresses, and suffer thirst.

¹¹Sila nagabuhat ug lana sa sulod sa mga kamalig niining mga tawohana; Nagatuyok sa ilang mga giukan ug nag-antus sa kauhaw.

¹²From out of the populous city men groan, And the soul of the wounded crieth out: Yet God regardeth not the folly.

¹²Sa mga dagkung lungsod may mga tawo nga nanag-agulo, Ug ang kalag sa linupigan nagatu-aw: Apan ang Dios wala magtagad sa binuang.

¹³These are of them that rebel against the light; They know not the ways thereof, Nor abide in the paths thereof.

¹³Kini sila mao kadtong mga nangasdang batok sa kahayag; Sila wala managpanghibalo sa mga dalan niana. Wala usab sila mopuyo sa mga agianan niana.

¹⁴The murderer riseth with the light; He killeth the poor and needy; And in the night he is as a thief.

¹⁴Sa kahayag mobangon ang mamomoo; Siya magapatay sa kabus ug sa makililimos; Ug sa gabii ingon siya sa usa ka kawatan.

¹⁵The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, Saying, No eye shall see me: And he disguiseth his face.

¹⁵Ang mata usab sa mananapaw magapaabut sa salumsum, Nga magaingon: Walay mata nga makasud-ong kanako: Ug iyang gitabonan ang iyang nawong.

¹⁶In the dark they dig through houses: They shut themselves up in the day-time; They know not the light.

¹⁶Sa mangitngit sila magalatas sa mga kabalayan: Sa maadlaw sila managsuksok; Sila wala makaila sa kahayag.

¹⁷For the morning is to all of them as thick darkness; For they know the terrors of the thick darkness.

¹⁷Kay kanilang tanan ang kabuntagon sama sa dakung kangitngit: Kay sila nahibalo man sa mga kahadlokan sa dakung kangitngit.

¹⁸Swiftly they [pass away] upon the face of the waters; Their portion is cursed in the earth: They turn not into the way of the vineyards.

¹⁸Sa kalit sila mangawagtang sa ibabaw sa katubigan; Ang ilang bahin sa ibabaw sa yuta ginapanghimaraut: Sila dili mosimang sa dalan sa kaparrasan.

¹⁹Drought and heat consume the snow waters: [So doth] Sheol [those that] have sinned.

¹⁹Ang tinghulaw ug ang kainit magaut-ut sa katubigan sa nieve: Mao man usab ang pagabuhaton sa Sheol niadtong mga nanagpakasala.

²⁰The womb shall forget him; The worm shall feed sweetly on him; He shall be no more remembered; And unrighteousness shall be broken as a tree.

²⁰Ang tagoangkan makalimot kaniya; Ang wati magakaon kaniya sa dakung kalipay; Siya dili na gayud mahinumduman; Ug ang pagkadili-matarung pagaputlon ingon sa usa ka kahoy.

²¹He devoureth the barren that beareth not, And doeth not good to the widow.

²¹Siya nagalamoy sa apuli nga wala manganak, Ug wala maghimo ug kaayohan sa babayeng balo.

²²Yet [God] preserveth the mighty by his power: He riseth up that hath no assurance of life.

²²Apan ang Dios sa iyang kagahum nagabantay sa mga gamhanan tungod sa iyang gahum; Iyang gipatindog kadtong walay katinoan sa iyang kinabuhi.

²³[God] giveth them to be in security, and they rest thereon; And his eyes are upon their ways.

²³Ang Dios nagahatag kanila aron mahaluna sa kalig-on, ug niana sila nagapahulay; Ug ang iyang mga mata nagasud-ong sa ilang mga lakang.

²⁴They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone; Yea, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all others, And are cut off as the tops of the ears of grain.

²⁴Sila ginatuboy; apan diriyut lamang, sila nangahanaw; Oo, sila gipaubos na, sila ginakuha sa agianan sama sa uban, Ug ginasanggi ingon sa ulo sa mga puso.

²⁵And if it be not so now, who will prove me a liar, And make my speech nothing worth?

²⁵Ug kong kini dili matuod karon, kinsa ang mopahayag nga ako bakakon, Ug mopadayag nga ang akong pakigpulong walay bili?
