¹Then David said, This is the house of Jehovah God, and this is the altar of burnt-offering for Israel.

¹ Dywedodd Dafydd, "Hwn fydd tu375?'r ARGLWYDD Dduw, ac allor y poeth-offrwm i Israel."

²And David commanded to gather together the sojourners that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

² Rhoddodd Dafydd orchymyn i gasglu'r dieithriaid oedd yng ngwlad Israel, a phenododd seiri maen i baratoi cerrig i adeiladu tu375? Dduw.

³And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the couplings; and brass in abundance without weight;

³ Fe barat�dd hefyd lawer o haearn i wneud hoelion ar gyfer drysau'r pyrth a'r cysylltiadau, a chymaint o bres fel nad oedd modd ei bwyso;

⁴and cedar-trees without number: for the Sidonians and they of Tyre brought cedar-trees in abundance to David.

⁴ darparodd hefyd goed cedrwydd di-rif, oherwydd bod y Sidoniaid a'r Tyriaid wedi dod � llawer ohonynt iddo.

⁵And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for Jehovah must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

⁵ Ac meddai Dafydd, "Y mae Solomon fy mab yn ifanc a dibrofiad, a rhaid i'r tu375? a adeiledir i'r ARGLWYDD fod yn uwch, yn enwocach ac yn fwy gogoneddus na'r un arall trwy'r holl wledydd; felly dechreuaf baratoi ar ei gyfer." Ac fe barat�dd Dafydd yn helaeth cyn iddo farw.

⁶Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build a house for Jehovah, the God of Israel.

⁶ Yna galwodd ar Solomon ei fab, a'i orchymyn i adeiladu tu375? i ARGLWYDD Dduw Israel, gan ddweud wrtho,

⁷And David said to Solomon his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God.

⁷ "Fy mab, yr oeddwn �'m bryd ar adeiladu tu375? i enw'r ARGLWYDD fy Nuw, ond daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf gan ddweud,

⁸But the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build a house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

⁸ 'Yr wyt wedi tywallt llawer o waed ac ymladd brwydrau mawr; ni chei di adeiladu tu375? i mi, am iti dywallt llawer o waed ar y ddaear yn fy ngu373?ydd i.

⁹Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days:

⁹ Ond edrych, genir iti fab a fydd yn u373?r heddychlon, ac mi roddaf iddo lonydd oddi wrth yr holl elynion o'i amgylch.

¹⁰he shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

¹⁰ Solomon fydd ei enw, a rhoddaf heddwch a thangnefedd i Israel yn ei oes ef. Ef fydd yn adeiladu tu375? i'm henw. Bydd ef yn fab i mi a minnau'n dad iddo yntau; gwnaf orsedd ei frenhiniaeth ar Israel yn gadarn am byth.'

¹¹Now, my son, Jehovah be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of Jehovah thy God, as he hath spoken concerning thee.

¹¹ Yn awr, fy mab, yr ARGLWYDD fyddo gyda thi, er mwyn i ti lwyddo wrth adeiladu tu375?'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw fel y dywedodd ef amdanat.

¹²Only Jehovah give thee discretion and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel; that so thou mayest keep the law of Jehovah thy God.

¹² Rhodded yr ARGLWYDD i ti hefyd ddoethineb a deall, pan rydd i ti awdurdod dros Israel, er mwyn iti gadw cyfraith yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw.

¹³Then shalt thou prosper, if thou observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Jehovah charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; fear not, neither be dismayed.

¹³ Yna, os cedwi'r deddfau a'r cyfreithiau a orchmynnodd yr ARGLWYDD i Moses ynglu375?n ag Israel, fe lwyddi. Bydd yn gryf a dewr; paid ag ofni na bod yn wan-galon.

¹⁴Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of Jehovah a hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver, and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.

¹⁴ Edrych, er fy mod yn dlawd, rhoddais ar gyfer tu375?'r ARGLWYDD gan mil o dalentau aur a miliwn o dalentau arian, a chymaint o bres a haearn fel nad oedd modd eu pwyso am fod cymaint ohonynt, a choed a cherrig yn ogystal. Ychwanega dithau atynt.

¹⁵Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all men that are skilful in every manner of work:

¹⁵ Y mae gennyt lawer iawn o weithwyr, yn naddwyr, seiri maen a seiri coed, ac eraill yn gallu gwneud pob math o waith;

¹⁶of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and Jehovah be with thee.

¹⁶ a bydd yr aur, yr arian, y pres a'r haearn yn aneirif. Cod a gweithia, a bydded yr ARGLWYDD gyda thi."

¹⁷David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, [saying],

¹⁷ Gorchmynnodd Dafydd i holl arweinwyr Israel gynorthwyo Solomon ei fab, gan ddweud,

¹⁸Is not Jehovah your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Jehovah, and before his people.

¹⁸ "Onid yw'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw gyda chwi? Onid yw wedi rhoi llonydd i chwi oddi wrth bawb o'ch cwmpas? Yn wir, y mae wedi rhoi pobl y wlad yn fy llaw, a darostyngwyd y wlad o flaen yr ARGLWYDD a'i bobl.

¹⁹Now set your heart and your soul to seek after Jehovah your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of Jehovah God, to bring the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of Jehovah.

¹⁹ Yn awr ymrowch, galon ac enaid, i geisio'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw. Codwch ac adeiladwch gysegr yr ARGLWYDD Dduw, er mwyn dod ag arch cyfamod yr ARGLWYDD a llestri cysegredig Duw i'r tu375? a adeiledir i enw'r ARGLWYDD."
