¹And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

¹ Bu farw Jehosaffat, a chladdwyd ef gyda'i ragflaenwyr yn ninas ei dad Dafydd, a daeth ei fab Jehoram yn frenin yn ei le.

²And he had brethren, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.

² Yr oedd gan Jehoram frodyr, meibion i Jehosaffat, sef Asareia, Jehiel, Sechareia, Asareia, Michael a Seffateia. Meibion i Jehosaffat brenin Jwda oeddent i gyd,

³And their father gave them great gifts, of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram, because he was the first-born.

³ a rhoddodd eu tad iddynt lawer o anrhegion, arian ac aur a phethau gwerthfawr, yn ogystal � dinasoedd caerog yn Jwda; ond i Jehoram y rhoddodd y frenhiniaeth, am mai ef oedd y cyntafanedig.

⁴Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.

⁴ Ar �l i Jehoram ymsefydlu ar deyrnas ei dad, lladdodd bob un o'i frodyr a rhai o dywysogion Israel �'r cleddyf.

⁵Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

⁵ Deuddeg ar hugain oed oedd Jehoram pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am wyth mlynedd yn Jerwsalem.

⁶And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab; for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah.

⁶ Dilynodd lwybr brenhinoedd Israel, fel y gwn�i tu375? Ahab, gan mai merch Ahab oedd ei wraig, a gwnaeth yr hyn oedd ddrwg yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD.

⁷Howbeit Jehovah would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children alway.

⁷ Eto, oherwydd y cyfamod a wnaeth � Dafydd, ni fynnai'r ARGLWYDD ddifetha tu375? Dafydd, am iddo addo rhoi lamp iddo ef a'i feibion am byth.

⁸In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

⁸ Yn ei gyfnod ef gwrthryfelodd Edom yn erbyn Jwda a gosod brenin arnynt eu hunain.

⁹Then Jehoram passed over with his captains, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites that compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots.

⁹ Croesodd Jehoram yno gyda'i gapteiniaid a'i holl gerbydau; cododd liw nos ac ymosod gyda'i gerbydwyr ar yr Edomiaid oedd yn ei amgylchu.

¹⁰So Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day: then did Libnah revolt at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken Jehovah, the God of his fathers.

¹⁰ Ac y mae Edom mewn gwrthryfel yn erbyn Jwda hyd y dydd hwn. Yr un pryd gwrthryfelodd Libna yn ei erbyn, am iddo droi cefn ar yr ARGLWYDD, Duw ei hynafiaid.

¹¹Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and made the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot, and led Judah astray.

¹¹ Ef hefyd a adeiladodd uchelfeydd ym mynydd-dir Jwda, a gwneud i drigolion Jerwsalem buteinio, ac arwain Jwda ar gyfeiliorn.

¹²And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

¹² Daeth llythyr at Jehoram oddi wrth y proffwyd Elias yn dweud, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Dafydd dy dad: 'Ni ddilynaist ti lwybrau Jehosaffat dy dad ac Asa brenin Jwda,

¹³but hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot, like as the house of Ahab did, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, who were better than thyself:

¹³ ond dilynaist frenhinoedd Israel, a gwneud i Jwda a thrigolion Jerwsalem buteinio, fel y gwnaeth tu375? Ahab gydag Israel; yr wyt hefyd wedi lladd dy frodyr o du375? dy dad, dynion gwell na thi.

¹⁴behold, Jehovah will smite with a great plague thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy substance;

¹⁴ Am hyn, fe ddaw'r ARGLWYDD � phla mawr ar dy bobl, dy feibion, dy wragedd a'th holl olud.

¹⁵and thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.

¹⁵ Fe fyddi di dy hun yn dioddef o glefyd enbyd yn dy goluddion, clefyd fydd ymhen amser yn gwneud i'r coluddion ddisgyn allan.'"

¹⁶And Jehovah stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians that are beside the Ethiopians:

¹⁶ Yna cyffr�dd yr ARGLWYDD y Philistiaid, a'r Arabiaid oedd yn byw yn ymyl yr Ethiopiaid, yn erbyn Jehoram.

¹⁷and they came up against Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.

¹⁷ Daethant i fyny yn erbyn Jwda ac ymosod arni, a chludo ymaith yr holl olud oedd yn nhu375?'r brenin, yn ogystal �'i feibion a'i wragedd; ni adawyd neb ond Jehoahas, ei fab ieuengaf, ar �l.

¹⁸And after all this Jehovah smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.

¹⁸ Ar �l hyn i gyd trawodd yr ARGLWYDD ef � chlefyd marwol yn ei goluddion.

¹⁹And it came to pass, in process of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.

¹⁹ Ac yng nghwrs amser, wedi i ddwy flynedd ddod i ben, disgynnodd ei goluddion allan o achos y clefyd, a bu farw mewn poenau enbyd. Ni wnaeth y bobl d�n er anrhydedd iddo, fel y gwnaethant i'w ragflaenwyr.

²⁰Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years: and he departed without being desired; and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.

²⁰ Deuddeg ar hugain oedd ei oed pan ddaeth yn frenin, a theyrnasodd am wyth mlynedd yn Jerwsalem. Bu farw heb neb yn galaru amdano, ac fe'i claddwyd yn Ninas Dafydd, ond nid ym meddau'r brenhinoedd.
