¹In the seventh year of Jehu began Jehoash to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Zibiah of Beer-sheba.

¹ Yn y seithfed flwyddyn i Jehu y daeth Jehoas i'r orsedd a theyrnasodd ddeugain mlynedd yn Jerwsalem. Sibia o Beerseba oedd enw ei fam.

²And Jehoash did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

² Ar hyd ei oes gwnaeth Jehoas yr hyn oedd uniawn yng ngolwg yr ARGLWYDD, fel yr oedd yr offeiriad Jehoiada wedi ei ddysgu.

³Howbeit the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

³ Er hynny ni thynnwyd ymaith yr uchelfeydd; yr oedd y bobl yn parhau i aberthu ac arogldarthu ynddynt.

⁴And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the hallowed things that is brought into the house of Jehovah, in current money, the money of the persons for whom each man is rated, and all the money that it cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of Jehovah,

⁴ Dywedodd Jehoas wrth yr offeiriaid, "Cymerwch yr holl arian cysegredig sy'n dod i du375?'r ARGLWYDD, sef arian treth pob un yn �l swm y trethiant ar gyfer ei deulu a hefyd yr holl arian sy'n dod i mewn yn wirfoddol ar gyfer tu375?'r ARGLWYDD;

⁵let the priests take it to them, every man from his acquaintance; and they shall repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

⁵ cymered yr offeiriaid hefyd o'r cyfraniadau a dderbyniant, ac atgyweirio pob agen ym muriau'r tu375?."

⁶But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

⁶ Eto erbyn y drydedd flwyddyn ar hugain i'r Brenin Jehoas nid oedd yr offeiriaid wedi atgyweirio agennau'r tu375?;

⁷Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the [other] priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore take no [more] money from your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

⁷ a galwodd y Brenin Jehoas am yr archoffeiriad Jehoiada ac am yr offeiriaid, a dweud wrthynt, "Pam nad ydych wedi atgyweirio agennau'r tu375?? Yn awr, felly, nid ydych i dderbyn arian o'r cyfraniadau; y maent i'w rhoi at atgyweirio agennau'r tu375?."

⁸And the priests consented that they should take no [more] money from the people, neither repair the breaches of the house.

⁸ Cytunodd yr offeiriaid i beidio � derbyn arian gan y bobl i atgyweirio agennau'r tu375?.

⁹But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of Jehovah: and the priests that kept the threshold put therein all the money that was brought into the house of Jehovah.

⁹ A chymerodd yr offeiriad Jehoiada gist, a gwneud twll yn ei chaead a'i gosod yn ymyl yr allor, ar y dde wrth fynd i mewn i du375?'r ARGLWYDD; ac yno y rhoddai'r offeiriaid oedd yn gwylio'r drws yr holl arian a ddygid i du375?'r ARGLWYDD.

¹⁰And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags and counted the money that was found in the house of Jehovah.

¹⁰ A phan welent fod llawer o arian yn y gist, byddai ysgrifennydd y brenin yn dod i fyny gyda'r archoffeiriad, yn eu rhoi mewn codau ac yna'n cyfrif yr arian a gafwyd yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD.

¹¹And they gave the money that was weighed out into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of Jehovah: and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders, that wrought upon the house of Jehovah,

¹¹ Ar �l eu harchwilio, rhoddid yr arian i'r rhai a benodwyd i ofalu am y gwaith yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD; hwy oedd yn talu i'r seiri coed a'r adeiladwyr oedd yn gweithio ar du375?'r ARGLWYDD,

¹²and to the masons and the hewers of stone, and for buying timber and hewn stone to repair the breaches of the house of Jehovah, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

¹² hefyd i'r seiri maen a'r naddwyr cerrig, a hwy oedd yn prynu coed a cherrig nadd i atgyweirio agennau tu375?'r ARGLWYDD, ac yn gwneud pob taliad ynglu375?n � diddosi'r tu375?.

¹³But there were not made for the house of Jehovah cups of silver, snuffers, basins, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of Jehovah;

¹³ Ni wnaed o'r arian a ddygwyd i du375?'r ARGLWYDD gwpanau arian, saltringau, cawgiau, utgyrn, nac unrhyw offer aur nac arian yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD;

¹⁴for they gave that to them that did the work, and repaired therewith the house of Jehovah.

¹⁴ ond yn hytrach fe'u rhoed yn d�l i'r gweithwyr am atgyweirio tu375?'r ARGLWYDD.

¹⁵Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to give to them that did the work; for they dealt faithfully.

¹⁵ Ac nid oeddent yn hawlio cyfrif oddi wrth y rhai oedd yn gofalu am y gwaith ac yn cael yr arian i dalu i'r gweithwyr, am eu bod yn gweithredu'n onest.

¹⁶The money for the trespass-offerings, and the money for the sin-offerings, was not brought into the house of Jehovah: it was the priests'.

¹⁶ Ni ddefnyddid ar gyfer tu375?'r ARGLWYDD arian yr offrwm dros gamwedd a phechod; eiddo'r offeiriaid oeddent hwy.

¹⁷Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

¹⁷ Yr adeg honno aeth Hasael brenin Syria i ryfel yn erbyn Gath, a'i chipio, ac yna rhoi ei fryd ar ymosod ar Jerwsalem.

¹⁸And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and of the king's house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

¹⁸ A chymerodd Jehoas brenin Jwda yr holl roddion a gysegrodd ei ragflaenwyr Jehosaffat, Jehoram ac Ahaseia, brenhinoedd Jwda, a hefyd ei roddion ei hun a'r holl aur oedd ar gael yn nhrysorfa tu375?'r ARGLWYDD a'r palas, a'u hanfon at Hasael brenin Syria; troes yntau yn �l oddi wrth Jerwsalem.

¹⁹Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

¹⁹ Am weddill hanes Jehoas, a'r cwbl a gyflawnodd, onid yw wedi ei ysgrifennu yn llyfr hanesion brenhinoedd Jwda?

²⁰And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and smote Joash at the house of Millo, [on the way] that goeth down to Silla.

²⁰ Gwnaeth ei weision gynllwyn yn erbyn Joas a'i ladd yn Beth-milo wrth riw Sila.

²¹For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

²¹ Ei weision Josabad fab Simeath a Jehosabad fab Somer a'i lladdodd. Bu farw a chladdwyd ef gyda'i ragflaenwyr yn Ninas Dafydd, a daeth ei fab Amaseia yn frenin yn ei le.
