¹And Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth his hand, and made his defence:

¹ Meddai Agripa wrth Paul, "Y mae caniat�d iti siarad drosot dy hun." Yna fe estynnodd Paul ei law, a dechrau ei amddiffyniad:

²I think myself happy, king Agrippa, that I am to make my defense before thee this day touching all the things whereof I am accused by the Jews:

² "Yr wyf yn f'ystyried fy hun yn ffodus, y Brenin Agripa, mai ger dy fron di yr wyf i'm hamddiffyn fy hun heddiw ynglu375?n �'r holl gyhuddiadau y mae'r Iddewon yn eu dwyn yn fy erbyn,

³especially because thou art expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

³ yn enwedig gan dy fod yn hyddysg yn yr holl arferion a dadleuon a geir ymhlith yr Iddewon. Gan hynny, 'rwy'n erfyn arnat fy ngwrando yn amyneddgar.

⁴My manner of life then from my youth up, which was from the beginning among mine own nation and at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;

⁴ Y mae fy muchedd i o'm mebyd, y modd y b�m yn byw o'r dechrau ymhlith fy nghenedl, a hefyd yn Jerwsalem, yn hysbys i bob Iddew.

⁵having knowledge of me from the first, if they be willing to testify, that after the straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

⁵ Y maent yn gwybod ers amser maith, os dymunant dystiolaethu, mai yn �l sect fwyaf caeth ein crefydd y b�m i'n byw, yn Pharisead.

⁶And now I stand [here] to be judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers;

⁶ Yn awr yr wyf yn sefyll fy mhrawf ar gyfrif gobaith sydd wedi ei seilio ar yr addewid a wnaed gan Dduw i'n hynafiaid ni,

⁷unto which [promise] our twelve tribes, earnestly serving [God] night and day, hope to attain. And concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, O king!

⁷ addewid y mae ein deuddeg llwyth ni, trwy addoli'n selog nos a dydd, yn gobeithio ei sylweddoli; ac am y gobaith hwn yr wyf yn cael fy nghyhuddo, O frenin, gan Iddewon!

⁸Why is it judged incredible with you, if God doth raise the dead?

⁸ Pam y bernir yn anghredadwy gennych chwi fod Duw yn codi'r meirw?

⁹I verily thought with myself that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

⁹ Eto, yr oeddwn i fy hun yn tybio unwaith y dylwn weithio'n ddygn yn erbyn enw Iesu o Nasareth;

¹⁰And this I also did in Jerusalem: and I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests, and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.

¹⁰ a gwneuthum hynny yn Jerwsalem. Ar awdurdod y prif offeiriaid, caeais lawer o'r saint mewn carcharau, a phan fyddent yn cael eu lladd, rhoddais fy mhleidlais yn eu herbyn;

¹¹And punishing them oftentimes in all the synagogues, I strove to make them blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto foreign cities.

¹¹ a thrwy'r holl synagogau mi geisiais lawer gwaith, trwy gosb, eu gorfodi i gablu. Yr oeddwn yn enbyd o ffyrnig yn eu herbyn, ac yn eu herlid hyd ddinasoedd estron hyd yn oed.

¹²Whereupon as I journeyed to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests,

¹² "Pan oeddwn yn teithio i Ddamascus ar y perwyl hwn gydag awdurdod a chennad y prif offeiriaid,

¹³at midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them that journeyed with me.

¹³ gwelais ar y ffordd ganol dydd, O frenin, oleuni mwy llachar na'r haul yn llewyrchu o'r nef o'm hamgylch i a'r rhai oedd yn teithio gyda mi.

¹⁴And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying unto me in the Hebrew language, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the goad.

¹⁴ Syrthiodd pob un ohonom ar y ddaear, a chlywais lais yn dweud wrthyf yn iaith yr Iddewon, 'Saul, Saul, pam yr wyt yn fy erlid i? Y mae'n galed iti wingo yn erbyn y symbylau.'

¹⁵And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

¹⁵ Dywedais innau, 'Pwy wyt ti, Arglwydd?' A dywedodd yr Arglwydd, 'Iesu wyf fi, yr hwn yr wyt ti yn ei erlid.

¹⁶But arise, and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared unto thee, to appoint thee a minister and a witness both of the things wherein thou hast seen me, and of the things wherein I will appear unto thee;

¹⁶ Ond cod a saf ar dy draed; oherwydd i hyn yr wyf wedi ymddangos i ti, sef i'th benodi di yn was imi, ac yn dyst o'r hyn yr wyt wedi ei weld, ac a weli eto, ohonof fi.

¹⁷delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee,

¹⁷ Gwaredaf di oddi wrth y bobl hyn ac oddi wrth y Cenhedloedd yr wyf yn dy anfon atynt,

¹⁸to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

¹⁸ i agor eu llygaid, a'u troi o dywyllwch i oleuni, o awdurdod Satan at Dduw, er mwyn iddynt gael maddeuant pechodau a chyfran ymhlith y rhai a sancteiddiwyd trwy ffydd ynof fi.'

¹⁹Wherefore, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

¹⁹ "O achos hyn, y Brenin Agripa, ni b�m anufudd i'r weledigaeth nefol,

²⁰but declared both to them of Damascus first and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judaea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

²⁰ ond b�m yn cyhoeddi i drigolion Damascus yn gyntaf, ac yn Jerwsalem, a thrwy holl wlad Jwdea, ac i'r Cenhedloedd, eu bod i edifarhau a throi at Dduw, a gweithredu yn deilwng o'u hedifeirwch.

²¹For this cause the Jews seized me in the temple, and assayed to kill me.

²¹ Oherwydd hyn y daliodd yr Iddewon fi yn y deml, a cheisio fy llofruddio.

²²Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand unto this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses did say should come;

²² Ond mi gefais gymorth gan Dduw hyd heddiw, ac yr wyf yn sefyll gan dystiolaethu i fawr a m�n, heb ddweud dim ond y pethau y dywedodd y proffwydi, a Moses hefyd, eu bod i ddigwydd,

²³how that the Christ must suffer, [and] how that he first by the resurrection of the dead should proclaim light both to the people and to the Gentiles.

²³ sef bod yn rhaid i'r Meseia ddioddef, a'i fod ef, y cyntaf i atgyfodi oddi wrth y meirw, i gyhoeddi goleuni i bobl Israel ac i'r Cenhedloedd."

²⁴And as he thus made his defense, Festus saith with a loud voice, Paul, thou art mad; thy much learning is turning thee mad.

²⁴ Ar ganol yr amddiffyniad hwn, dyma Ffestus yn gweiddi, "Yr wyt yn wallgof, Paul; y mae dy fawr ddysg yn dy yrru di'n wallgof."

²⁵But Paul saith, I am not mad, most excellent Festus; but speak forth words of truth and soberness.

²⁵ Meddai Paul, "Na, nid wyf yn wallgof, ardderchocaf Ffestus; yn hytrach, geiriau gwirionedd a synnwyr yr wyf yn eu llefaru.

²⁶For the king knoweth of these things, unto whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him; for this hath not been done in a corner.

²⁶ Oherwydd fe u373?yr y brenin am y pethau hyn, ac yr wyf yn llefaru yn hy wrtho. Ni allaf gredu fod dim un o'r pethau hyn yn anhysbys iddo, oherwydd nid mewn rhyw gongl y gwnaed hyn.

²⁷King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

²⁷ A wyt ti, y Brenin Agripa, yn credu'r proffwydi? Mi wn i dy fod yn credu."

²⁸And Agrippa [said] unto Paul, With but little persuasion thou wouldest fain make me a Christian.

²⁸ Ac meddai Agripa wrth Paul, "Mewn byr amser yr wyt am fy mherswadio i fod yn Gristion!"

²⁹And Paul [said], I would to God, that whether with little or with much, not thou only, but also all that hear me this day, might become such as I am, except these bonds.

²⁹ Atebodd Paul, "Byr neu beidio, mi wedd�wn i ar Dduw, nid am i ti yn unig, ond am i bawb sy'n fy ngwrando heddiw fod yr un fath ag yr wyf fi, ar wah�n i'r rhwymau yma."

³⁰And the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:

³⁰ Yna cododd y brenin a'r rhaglaw, a Bernice a'r rhai oedd yn eistedd gyda hwy,

³¹and when they had withdrawn, they spake one to another, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

³¹ ac wedi iddynt ymneilltuo, buont yn ymddiddan �'i gilydd gan ddweud, "Nid yw'r dyn yma yn gwneud dim oll sy'n haeddu marwolaeth na charchar."

³²And Agrippa said unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.

³² Ac meddai Agripa wrth Ffestus, "Gallasai'r dyn yma fod wedi cael ei ollwng yn rhydd, onibai ei fod wedi apelio at Gesar."
