1In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, even a great warfare: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
1 Yn y drydedd flwyddyn i Cyrus brenin Persia rhoddwyd datguddiad i Daniel, a elwid Beltesassar. Yr oedd yn ddatguddiad gwir, er ei bod yn ymdrech fawr ei ddeall; ond rhoddwyd iddo ddeall trwy'r weledigaeth.
2In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
2 Yn y dyddiau hynny, yr oeddwn i, Daniel, mewn galar am dair wythnos.
3I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
3 Ni fwyteais ddanteithion ac ni chyffyrddais chig na gwin, ac nid irais fy hun am y tair wythnos gyfan.
4And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,
4 Ar y pedwerydd ar hugain o'r mis cyntaf, a minnau'n eistedd ar lan yr afon fawr, afon Tigris,
5I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz:
5 codais fy ngolwg a gwelais ddyn wedi ei wisgo mewn lliain, a gwregys o aur Offir am ei ganol.
6his body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like unto burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
6 Yr oedd ei gorff fel maen beryl a'i wyneb fel mellt; yr oedd ei lygaid fel ffaglau tn, ei freichiau a'i draed fel pres gloyw, a'i lais fel su373?n tyrfa.
7And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision; for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
7 Myfi, Daniel, yn unig a welodd y weledigaeth; ni welodd y rhai oedd gyda mi mohoni, ond daeth arnynt ddychryn mawr a ffoesant i ymguddio.
8So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
8 Gadawyd fi ar fy mhen fy hun i edrych ar y weledigaeth fawr hon; pallodd fy nerth, newidiodd fy ngwedd yn arswydus, ac euthum yn wan.
9Yet heard I the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
9 Fe'i clywais yn siarad, ac wrth wrando ar su373?n ei eiriau syrthiais ar fy hyd ar lawr mewn llewyg.
10And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
10 Yna cyffyrddodd llaw mi, a'm gosod yn sigledig ar fy ngliniau a'm dwylo,
11And he said unto me, O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright; for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
11 a dywedodd wrthyf, "Daniel, cefaist ffafr; ystyria'r geiriau a lefaraf wrthyt, a saf ar dy draed, oherwydd anfonwyd fi atat." Pan lefarodd wrthyf, codais yn grynedig.
12Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard: and I am come for thy words' sake.
12 Yna dywedodd wrthyf, "Paid ag ofni, Daniel, oherwydd o'r dydd cyntaf y penderfynaist geisio deall ac ymostwng o flaen dy Dduw, clywyd dy eiriau; ac oherwydd hynny y deuthum i.
13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me: and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
13 Am un diwrnod ar hugain bu tywysog teyrnas Persia yn sefyll yn f'erbyn; yna daeth Mihangel, un o'r prif dywysogion, i'm helpu, pan adawyd fi yno gyda thywysog brenhinoedd Persia.
14Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days; for the vision is yet for [many] days:
14 Deuthum i roi gwybod i ti beth a ddigwydd i'th bobl yn niwedd y dyddiau, oherwydd gweledigaeth am y dyfodol yw hon hefyd."
15and when he had spoken unto me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was dumb.
15 Wedi iddo ddweud hyn wrthyf, ymgrymais hyd lawr heb ddweud dim.
16And, behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I retain no strength.
16 Yna cyffyrddodd un tebyg i fod dynol 'm gwefusau, ac agorais fy ngenau i siarad, a dywedais wrth yr un oedd yn sefyll o'm blaen, "F'arglwydd, y mae fy ngofid yn fawr oherwydd y weledigaeth, a phallodd fy nerth.
17For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me.
17 Sut y gall gwas f'arglwydd ddweud dim wrth f'arglwydd, a minnau yn awr heb nerth nac anadl ynof?"
18Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me.
18 Unwaith eto cyffyrddodd yr un tebyg i fod dynol mi a'm cryfhau,
19And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he spake unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
19 a dweud, "Paid ag ofni, cefaist ffafr; heddwch i ti. Bydd wrol, bydd gryf." Ac fel yr oedd yn siarad mi cefais nerth, a dywedais, "Llefara, f'arglwydd, oblegid rhoddaist nerth i mi."
20Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I am come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I go forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come.
20 Yna dywedodd, "A wyddost pam y deuthum atat? Dywedaf wrthyt beth sy'n ysgrifenedig yn llyfr y gwirionedd. Rwy'n dychwelyd yn awr i ymladd thywysog Persia, ac wedyn fe ddaw tywysog Groeg.
21But I will tell thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me against these, but Michael your prince.
21 Ac nid oes neb yn fy nghynorthwyo yn erbyn y rhai hyn ar wahn i'ch tywysog Mihangel.
