¹When Jehovah thy God shall cut off the nations, whose land Jehovah thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

¹ Pan fydd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw wedi difa'r cenhedloedd y mae'n rhoi eu tir iti, a thithau'n ei feddiannu ac yn byw yn eu trefi a'u tai,

²thou shalt set apart three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to possess it.

² yr wyt i neilltuo ar dy gyfer dair dinas yn y wlad y mae'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei rhoi iti i'w meddiannu.

³Thou shalt prepare thee the way, and divide the borders of thy land, which Jehovah thy God causeth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every manslayer may flee thither.

³ Paratoa ffordd atynt, a rhannu'n dair y wlad y mae'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei rhoi iti i'w hetifeddu, fel y caiff pob lleiddiad le i ddianc.

⁴And this is the case of the manslayer, that shall flee thither and live: whoso killeth his neighbor unawares, and hated him not in time past;

⁴ Dyma'r math o leiddiad a gaiff ffoi yno ac arbed ei fywyd: yr un fydd yn lladd arall yn ddifwriad, heb fod yn ei gas�u o'r blaen;

⁵as when a man goeth into the forest with his neighbor to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbor, so that he dieth; he shall flee unto one of these cities and live:

⁵ er enghraifft, rhywun fydd yn mynd gyda'i gymydog i'r goedwig i dorri coed, ac wrth iddo estyn ei law gyda'r fwyell i dorri coeden, y mae pen y fwyell yn neidio oddi ar y pren ac yn rhoi ergyd farwol i'w gymydog. Caiff hwn ffoi i un o'r dinasoedd hyn ac arbed ei fywyd,

⁶lest the avenger of blood pursue the manslayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and smite him mortally; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.

⁶ rhag i'r dialydd gwaed yn ei gynddaredd ddilyn y lleiddiad a'i ddal oherwydd meithder y daith, a'i daro'n farw, er nad oedd yn haeddu marw, am nad oedd yn cas�u ei gymydog o'r blaen.

⁷Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt set apart three cities for thee.

⁷ Dyna pam yr wyf yn gorchymyn iti neilltuo tair dinas.

⁸And if Jehovah thy God enlarge thy border, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

⁸ Os bydd yr ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn estyn dy derfynau, fel y tyngodd i'th hynafiaid y gwn�i, ac yn rhoi iti'r holl wlad a addawodd i'th hynafiaid,

⁹if thou shalt keep all this commandment to do it, which I command thee this day, to love Jehovah thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, besides these three:

⁹ oherwydd iti ofalu cadw'r cwbl o'r gorchymyn hwn yr wyf yn ei roi iti heddiw, i garu'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw a cherdded yn ei ffyrdd bob amser, yna rwyt i ychwanegu tair dinas arall at y tair cyntaf.

¹⁰that innocent blood be not shed in the midst of thy land, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

¹⁰ Nid yw gwaed y dieuog i'w dywallt o fewn y tir y mae'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei roi iti'n etifeddiaeth, rhag iti fod yn euog o dywallt gwaed.

¹¹But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally so that he dieth, and he flee into one of these cities;

¹¹ Os bydd rhywun yn cas�u ei gymydog ac yn ymosod yn llechwraidd arno a'i anafu mor ddifrifol nes ei fod yn marw, ac yna yn dianc i un o'r dinasoedd hyn,

¹²then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

¹² y mae henuriaid ei dref i anfon rhai i'w gyrchu oddi yno a'i drosglwyddo i'r dialydd gwaed; a bydd farw.

¹³Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

¹³ Nid wyt i dosturio wrtho, ond i ddileu o Israel euogrwydd am dywallt gwaed y dieuog, er mwyn iddi fod yn dda arnat.

¹⁴Thou shalt not remove thy neighbor's landmark, which they of old time have set, in thine inheritance which thou shalt inherit, in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee to possess it.

¹⁴ Paid � symud terfyn dy gymydog, a osodwyd o'r dechrau yn yr etifeddiaeth a gefaist yn y wlad y mae'r ARGLWYDD dy Dduw yn ei rhoi iti i'w meddiannu.

¹⁵One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established.

¹⁵ Nid yw un tyst yn ddigon yn erbyn neb mewn unrhyw achos o drosedd neu fai, beth bynnag fo'r bai a gyflawnwyd; ond fe saif tystiolaeth dau neu dri.

¹⁶If an unrighteous witness rise up against any man to testify against him of wrong-doing,

¹⁶ Os bydd tyst maleisus yn codi yn erbyn rhywun i'w gyhuddo o gamwri,

¹⁷then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges that shall be in those days;

¹⁷ safed y ddau sy'n ymrafael yng ngu373?ydd yr ARGLWYDD, gerbron yr offeiriaid a'r barnwyr ar y pryd.

¹⁸and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and have testified falsely against his brother;

¹⁸ Holed y barnwyr yn ddyfal, ac os ceir mai gau dyst ydyw a'i fod wedi dwyn gau dystiolaeth yn erbyn ei gymydog,

¹⁹then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to do unto his brother: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.

¹⁹ gwneler iddo yr hyn y bwriadodd ef ei wneud i'w gymydog; felly y byddi'n dileu'r drwg o'ch mysg.

²⁰And those that remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil in the midst of thee.

²⁰ Pan glyw y lleill, bydd arnynt ofn a pheidiant � gwneud y fath ddrwg mwyach.

²¹And thine eyes shall not pity; life [shall go] for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

²¹ Nid wyt i ddangos tosturi; bywyd am fywyd, llygad am lygad, dant am ddant, llaw am law, troed am droed.
