¹And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.

¹ Yna aeth Abram i fyny o'r Aifft i'r Negef, ef a'i wraig a'i holl eiddo, a hefyd Lot.

²And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

² Yr oedd Abram yn gyfoethog iawn o anifeiliaid, ac o arian ac aur.

³And he went on his journeys from the South even to Beth-el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth-el and Ai,

³ Teithiodd ymlaen o'r Negef hyd Bethel, i'r man rhwng Bethel ac Ai lle'r oedd ei babell ar y dechrau,

⁴unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of Jehovah.

⁴ y man lle'r oedd wedi gwneud allor ar y cychwyn; ac yno galwodd Abram ar enw'r ARGLWYDD.

⁵And Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

⁵ Yr oedd gan Lot, a oedd yn teithio gydag Abram, hefyd ddefaid ac ychen a phebyll;

⁶And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

⁶ ac ni allai'r tir eu cynnal ill dau gyda'i gilydd. Am fod eu meddiannau mor helaeth, ni allent drigo ynghyd;

⁷And there was a strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelt then in the land.

⁷ a bu cynnen rhwng bugeiliaid anifeiliaid Abram a rhai Lot. Y Canaaneaid a'r Peresiaid oedd yn byw yn y wlad yr amser hwnnw.

⁸And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are brethren.

⁸ Yna dywedodd Abram wrth Lot, "Peidied � bod cynnen rhyngom, na rhwng fy mugeiliaid i a'th rai di, oherwydd perthnasau ydym.

⁹Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me. If [thou wilt take] the left hand, then I will go to the right. Or if [thou take] the right hand, then I will go to the left.

⁹ Onid yw'r holl wlad o'th flaen? Ymwahana oddi wrthyf. Os troi di i'r chwith, fe drof finnau i'r dde; ac os i'r dde, trof finnau i'r chwith."

¹⁰And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the Plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Jehovah, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest unto Zoar.

¹⁰ Cododd Lot ei olwg, a gwelodd fod holl wastadedd yr Iorddonen i gyfeiriad Soar i gyd yn ddyfradwy, fel gardd yr ARGLWYDD, neu wlad yr Aifft. Yr oedd hyn cyn i'r ARGLWYDD ddinistrio Sodom a Gomorra.

¹¹So Lot chose him all the Plain of the Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

¹¹ A dewisodd Lot iddo'i hun holl wastadedd yr Iorddonen, a theithio tua'r dwyrain; felly yr ymwahanodd y naill oddi wrth y llall.

¹²Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the Plain, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

¹² Yr oedd Abram yn byw yng ngwlad Canaan, a Lot yn ninasoedd y gwastadedd, gan symud ei babell hyd at Sodom.

¹³Now the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners against Jehovah exceedingly.

¹³ Yr oedd gwu375?r Sodom yn ddrygionus, yn pechu'n fawr yn erbyn yr ARGLWYDD.

¹⁴And Jehovah said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward:

¹⁴ Wedi i Lot ymwahanu oddi wrtho, dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Abram, "Cod dy olwg o'r lle'r wyt, ac edrych tua'r gogledd a'r de a'r dwyrain a'r gorllewin;

¹⁵for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

¹⁵ oherwydd yr holl dir yr wyt yn ei weld, fe'i rhoddaf i ti ac i'th ddisgynyddion hyd byth.

¹⁶And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: So that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then may thy seed also be numbered.

¹⁶ Gwnaf dy had fel llwch y ddaear; os dichon neb rifo llwch y ddaear, yna fe rifir dy had di.

¹⁷Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for unto thee will I give it.

¹⁷ Cod, rhodia ar hyd a lled y wlad, oherwydd i ti yr wyf yn ei rhoi."

¹⁸And Abram moved his tent, and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built there an altar unto Jehovah.

¹⁸ Yna symudodd Abram ei babell a mynd i fyw wrth dderw Mamre, sydd yn Hebron; ac adeiladodd allor yno i'r ARGLWYDD.
