¹And it came to pass after these things, that God did prove Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham. And he said, Here am I.

¹ Wedi'r pethau hyn, rhoddodd Duw brawf ar Abraham.

²And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest, even Isaac, and get thee into the land of Moriah. And offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

² "Abraham," meddai wrtho, ac atebodd yntau, "Dyma fi." Yna dywedodd, "Cymer dy fab, dy unig fab Isaac, sy'n annwyl gennyt, a dos i wlad Moreia, ac offryma ef yno yn boethoffrwm ar y mynydd a ddangosaf iti."

³And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. And he clave the wood for the burnt-offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

³ Felly cododd Abraham yn fore, cyfrwyodd ei asyn, a chymryd dau lanc gydag ef, a'i fab Isaac; a holltodd goed i'r poethoffrwm, a chychwynnodd i'r lle y dywedodd Duw wrtho.

⁴On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

⁴ Ar y trydydd dydd cododd Abraham ei olwg, a gwelodd y lle o hirbell.

⁵And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder; and we will worship, and come again to you.

⁵ Yna dywedodd Abraham wrth ei lanciau, "Arhoswch chwi yma gyda'r asyn; mi af finnau a'r bachgen draw ac addoli, ac yna dychwelwn atoch."

⁶And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. And they went both of them together.

⁶ Cymerodd goed y poethoffrwm a'u gosod ar ei fab Isaac; a chymerodd y t�n a'r gyllell yn ei law ei hun. Ac felly yr aethant ill dau ynghyd.

⁷And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold, the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb for a burnt-offering?

⁷ Yna dywedodd Isaac wrth ei dad Abraham, "Fy nhad." Atebodd yntau, "Ie, fy mab?" Ac meddai Isaac, "Dyma'r t�n a'r coed; ond ble mae oen y poethoffrwm?"

⁸And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt-offering, my son. So they went both of them together.

⁸ Dywedodd Abraham, "Duw ei hun fydd yn darparu oen y poethoffrwm, fy mab." Ac felly aethant ill dau gyda'i gilydd.

⁹And they came to the place which God had told him of. And Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

⁹ Wedi iddynt gyrraedd i'r lle'r oedd Duw wedi dweud wrtho, adeiladodd Abraham allor, trefnodd y coed, a rhwymodd ei fab Isaac a'i osod ar yr allor, ar ben y coed.

¹⁰And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

¹⁰ Yna estynnodd Abraham ei law, a chymryd y gyllell i ladd ei fab.

¹¹And the angel of Jehovah called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here I am.

¹¹ Ond galwodd angel yr ARGLWYDD arno o'r nef, a dweud, "Abraham! Abraham!" Dywedodd yntau, "Dyma fi."

¹²And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him. For now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.

¹² A dywedodd, "Paid � gosod dy law ar y bachgen, na gwneud dim iddo; oherwydd gwn yn awr dy fod yn ofni Duw, gan nad wyt wedi gwrthod rhoi dy fab, dy unig fab, i mi."

¹³And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind [him] a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt-offering in the stead of his son.

¹³ Cododd Abraham ei olwg ac edrych, a dyna lle'r oedd hwrdd y tu �l iddo wedi ei ddal gerfydd ei gyrn mewn drysni; aeth Abraham a chymryd yr hwrdd a'i offrymu yn boethoffrwm yn lle ei fab.

¹⁴And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh. As it is said to this day, In the mount of Jehovah it shall be provided.

¹⁴ Ac enwodd Abraham y lle hwnnw, "Yr ARGLWYDD sy'n darparu"; fel y dywedir hyd heddiw, "Ar fynydd yr ARGLWYDD fe ddarperir."

¹⁵And the angel of Jehovah called unto Abraham a second time out of heaven,

¹⁵ Galwodd angel yr ARGLWYDD eilwaith o'r nef ar Abraham,

¹⁶and said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son,

¹⁶ a dweud, "Tyngais i mi fy hun," medd yr ARGLWYDD, "oherwydd iti wneud hyn, heb wrthod rhoi dy fab, dy unig fab,

¹⁷that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.

¹⁷ bendithiaf di yn fawr, ac amlhau dy ddisgynyddion yn ddirfawr, fel s�r y nefoedd ac fel y tywod ar lan y m�r. Bydd dy ddisgynyddion yn meddiannu pyrth eu gelynion,

¹⁸And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because thou hast obeyed my voice.

¹⁸ a thrwyddynt bendithir holl genhedloedd y ddaear, am iti ufuddhau i'm llais."

¹⁹So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba. And Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.

¹⁹ Yna dychwelodd Abraham at ei lanciau ac aethant gyda'i gilydd i Beerseba; ac arhosodd Abraham yn Beerseba.

²⁰And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she also hath borne children unto they brother Nahor.

²⁰ Wedi'r pethau hyn, mynegwyd i Abraham, "Y mae Milca wedi geni plant i'th frawd Nachor:

²¹Uz his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram.

²¹ Hus ei gyntaf-anedig, a'i frawd Bus, Cemuel tad Aram,

²²And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

²² Cesed, Haso, Pildas, Idlaff, a Bethuel."

²³And Bethuel begat Rebekah. These eight did Milcah bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

²³ Bethuel oedd tad Rebeca. Ganwyd yr wyth hyn o Milca i Nachor, brawd Abraham.

²⁴And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she also bare Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.

²⁴ Hefyd esgorodd Reuma, ei ordderch, ar Teba, Gaham, Tahas a Maacha.
