¹And he went out from thence; and he cometh into his own country; and his disciples follow him.

¹ Aeth oddi yno a daeth i fro ei febyd, a'i ddisgyblion yn ei ganlyn.

²And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, Whence hath this man these things? and, What is the wisdom that is given unto this man, and [what mean] such mighty works wrought by his hands?

² A phan ddaeth y Saboth dechreuodd ddysgu yn y synagog. Yr oedd llawer yn synnu wrth wrando, ac meddent, "O ble y cafodd hwn y pethau hyn? A beth yw'r ddoethineb a roed i hwn, a'r fath weithredoedd nerthol sy'n cael eu gwneud trwyddo ef?

³Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended in him.

³ Onid hwn yw'r saer, mab Mair a brawd Iago a Joses a Jwdas a Simon? Ac onid yw ei chwiorydd yma gyda ni?" Yr oedd ef yn peri tramgwydd iddynt.

⁴And Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

⁴ Meddai Iesu wrthynt, "Nid yw proffwyd heb anrhydedd ond yn ei fro ei hun ac ymhlith ei geraint ac yn ei gartref."

⁵And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

⁵ Ac ni allai wneud unrhyw wyrth yno, ond rhoi ei ddwylo ar ychydig gleifion a'u hiach�u.

⁶And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages teaching.

⁶ Rhyfeddodd at eu hanghrediniaeth. Yr oedd yn mynd o amgylch y pentrefi dan ddysgu.

⁷And he calleth unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits;

⁷ A galwodd y Deuddeg ato a dechrau eu hanfon allan bob yn ddau. Rhoddodd iddynt awdurdod dros ysbrydion aflan,

⁸and he charged them that they should take nothing for [their] journey, save a staff only; no bread, no wallet, now money in their purse;

⁸ a gorchmynnodd iddynt beidio � chymryd dim ar gyfer y daith ond ffon yn unig; dim bara, dim cod, dim pres yn eu gwregys;

⁹but [to go] shod with sandals: and, [said he], put not on two coats.

⁹ sandalau am eu traed, ond heb wisgo ail grys.

¹⁰And he said unto them, Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart thence.

¹⁰ Ac meddai wrthynt, "Lle bynnag yr ewch i mewn i du375?, arhoswch yno nes y byddwch yn ymadael �'r ardal.

¹¹And whatsoever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as ye go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony unto them.

¹¹ Ac os bydd unrhyw le yn gwrthod eich derbyn, a phobl yn gwrthod gwrando arnoch, ewch allan oddi yno ac ysgydwch ymaith y llwch fydd dan eich traed, yn rhybudd iddynt."

¹²And they went out, and preached that [men] should repent.

¹² Felly aethant allan a phregethu ar i bobl edifarhau,

¹³And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

¹³ ac yr oeddent yn bwrw allan gythreuliaid lawer, ac yn eneinio llawer o gleifion ag olew ac yn eu hiach�u.

¹⁴And king Herod heard [thereof]; for his name had become known: and he said, John the Baptizer is risen from the dead, and therefore do these powers work in him.

¹⁴ Clywodd y Brenin Herod am hyn, oherwydd yr oedd enw Iesu wedi dod yn hysbys. Yr oedd pobl yn dweud, "Ioan Fedyddiwr sydd wedi ei godi oddi wrth y meirw, a dyna pam y mae'r gweithredoedd nerthol ar waith ynddo ef."

¹⁵But others said, It is Elijah. And others said, [It is] a prophet, [even] as one of the prophets.

¹⁵ Yr oedd eraill yn dweud, "Elias ydyw"; ac eraill wedyn, "Proffwyd yw, fel un o'r proffwydi gynt."

¹⁶But Herod, when he heard [thereof], said, John, whom I beheaded, he is risen.

¹⁶ Ond pan glywodd Herod, dywedodd, "Ioan, yr un y torrais i ei ben, sydd wedi ei gyfodi."

¹⁷For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife; for he had married her.

¹⁷ Oherwydd yr oedd Herod wedi anfon a dal Ioan, a'i roi yn rhwym yng ngharchar o achos Herodias, gwraig Philip ei frawd, am ei fod wedi ei phriodi.

¹⁸For John said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.

¹⁸ Yr oedd Ioan wedi dweud wrth Herod, "Nid yw'n gyfreithlon iti gael gwraig dy frawd."

¹⁹And Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him; and she could not;

¹⁹ Ac yr oedd Herodias yn dal dig wrtho ac yn dymuno ei ladd, ond ni allai,

²⁰for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. And when he heard him, he was much perplexed; and he heard him gladly.

²⁰ oherwydd yr oedd ar Herod ofn Ioan, am ei fod yn gwybod mai gu373?r cyfiawn a sanctaidd ydoedd. Yr oedd yn ei gadw dan warchodaeth; a byddai'n gwrando arno'n llawen, er ei fod, ar �l gwrando, mewn penbleth fawr.

²¹And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, and the high captains, and the chief men of Galilee;

²¹ Daeth cyfle un diwrnod, pan wnaeth Herod wledd ar ei ben-blwydd i'w bendefigion a'i gadfridogion a gwu375?r blaenllaw Galilea.

²²and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and them that sat at meat with him; and the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

²² Daeth merch Herodias i mewn, a dawnsio a phlesio Herod a'i westeion. Dywedodd y brenin wrth yr eneth, "Gofyn imi am y peth a fynni, ac fe'i rhof iti."

²³And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

²³ A gwnaeth lw difrifol iddi, "Beth bynnag a ofynni gennyf, rhof ef iti, hyd at hanner fy nheyrnas."

²⁴And she went out, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptizer.

²⁴ Aeth allan a dywedodd wrth ei mam, "Am beth y caf ofyn?" Dywedodd hithau, "Pen Ioan Fedyddiwr."

²⁵And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou forthwith give me on a platter the head of John the Baptist.

²⁵ A brysiodd yr eneth ar unwaith i mewn at y brenin a gofyn, "Yr wyf am iti roi imi, y munud yma, ben Ioan Fedyddiwr ar ddysgl."

²⁶And the king was exceeding sorry; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat, he would not reject her.

²⁶ Aeth y brenin yn drist iawn, ond oherwydd ei lw, ac oherwydd y gwesteion, penderfynodd beidio � thorri ei air iddi.

²⁷And straightway the king sent forth a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring his head: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

²⁷ Ac yna anfonodd y brenin ddienyddiwr a gorchymyn iddo ddod � phen Ioan. Fe aeth hwnnw, a thorrodd ei ben ef yn y carchar,

²⁸and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the damsel; and the damsel gave it to her mother.

²⁸ a dod ag ef ar ddysgl a'i roi i'r eneth; a rhoddodd yr eneth ef i'w mam.

²⁹And when his disciples heard [thereof], they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

²⁹ A phan glywodd ei ddisgyblion, daethant, a mynd �'i gorff ymaith a'i ddodi mewn bedd.

³⁰And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus; and they told him all things, whatsoever they had done, and whatsoever they had taught.

³⁰ Daeth yr apostolion ynghyd at Iesu a dweud wrtho am yr holl bethau yr oeddent wedi eu gwneud a'u dysgu.

³¹And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

³¹ A dywedodd wrthynt, "Dewch chwi eich hunain o'r neilltu i le unig a gorffwyswch am dipyn." Oherwydd yr oedd llawer yn mynd a dod, ac nid oedd cyfle iddynt hyd yn oed i fwyta.

³²And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart.

³² Ac aethant ymaith yn y cwch i le unig o'r neilltu.

³³And [the people] saw them going, and many knew [them], and they ran together there on foot from all the cities, and outwent them.

³³ Gwelodd llawer hwy'n mynd, a'u hadnabod, a rhedasant ynghyd i'r fan, dros y tir o'r holl drefi, a chyrraedd o'u blaen.

³⁴And he came forth and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

³⁴ Pan laniodd Iesu gwelodd dyrfa fawr, a thosturiodd wrthynt am eu bod fel defaid heb fugail; a dechreuodd ddysgu llawer iddynt.

³⁵And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, The place is desert, and the day is now far spent;

³⁵ Pan oedd hi eisoes wedi mynd yn hwyr ar y dydd daeth ei ddisgyblion ato a dweud, "Y mae'r lle yma'n unig ac y mae hi eisoes yn hwyr.

³⁶send them away, that they may go into the country and villages round about, and buy themselves somewhat to eat.

³⁶ Gollwng hwy, iddynt fynd i'r wlad a'r pentrefi o amgylch i brynu tipyn o fwyd iddynt eu hunain."

³⁷But he answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred shillings' worth of bread, and give them to eat?

³⁷ Atebodd yntau hwy, "Rhowch chwi rywbeth i'w fwyta iddynt." Meddent wrtho, "A ydym i fynd i brynu bara gwerth dau gant o ddarnau arian, a'i roi iddynt i'w fwyta?"

³⁸And he saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go [and] see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

³⁸ Meddai yntau wrthynt, "Pa sawl torth sydd gennych? Ewch i edrych." Ac wedi cael gwybod dywedasant, "Pump, a dau bysgodyn."

³⁹And he commanded them that all should sit down by companies upon the green grass.

³⁹ Gorchmynnodd iddynt beri i bawb eistedd yn gwmn�oedd ar y glaswellt.

⁴⁰And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

⁴⁰ Ac eisteddasant yn rhesi, bob yn gant a hanner cant.

⁴¹And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves; and he gave to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

⁴¹ Yna cymerodd y pum torth a'r ddau bysgodyn, a chan edrych i fyny i'r nef a bendithio, torrodd y torthau a'u rhoi i'w ddisgyblion i'w gosod gerbron y bobl; rhannodd hefyd y ddau bysgodyn rhwng pawb.

⁴²And they all ate, and were filled.

⁴² Bwytasant oll a chael digon.

⁴³And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, and also of the fishes.

⁴³ A chodasant ddeuddeg basgedaid o dameidiau bara, a pheth o'r pysgod.

⁴⁴And they that ate the loaves were five thousand men.

⁴⁴ Ac yr oedd y rhai oedd wedi bwyta'r torthau yn bum mil o wu375?r.

⁴⁵And straightway he constrained his disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before [him] unto the other side to Bethsaida, while he himself sendeth the multitude away.

⁴⁵ Yna'n ddi-oed gwnaeth i'w ddisgyblion fynd i'r cwch a hwylio o'i flaen i'r ochr draw, i Bethsaida, tra byddai ef yn gollwng y dyrfa.

⁴⁶And after he had taken leave of them, he departed into the mountain to pray.

⁴⁶ Ac wedi canu'n iach iddynt aeth ymaith i'r mynydd i wedd�o.

⁴⁷And when even was come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

⁴⁷ Pan aeth hi'n hwyr yr oedd y cwch ar ganol y m�r, ac yntau ar ei ben ei hun ar y tir.

⁴⁸And seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them, about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them:

⁴⁸ A gwelodd hwy mewn helbul wrth rwyfo, oherwydd yr oedd y gwynt yn eu herbyn, a rhywbryd rhwng tri a chwech o'r gloch y bore daeth ef atynt dan gerdded ar y m�r. Yr oedd am fynd heibio iddynt;

⁴⁹but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

⁴⁹ ond pan welsant ef yn cerdded ar y m�r, tybiasant mai drychiolaeth ydoedd, a gwaeddasant,

⁵⁰for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he straightway spake with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

⁵⁰ oherwydd gwelodd pawb ef, a dychrynwyd hwy. Siaradodd yntau � hwy ar unwaith a dweud wrthynt, "Codwch eich calon; myfi yw; peidiwch ag ofni."

⁵¹And he went up unto them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves;

⁵¹ Dringodd i'r cwch atynt, a gostegodd y gwynt. Yr oedd eu syndod yn fawr dros ben,

⁵²for they understood not concerning the loaves, but their heart was hardened.

⁵² oblegid nid oeddent wedi deall ynglu375?n �'r torthau; yr oedd eu meddwl wedi caledu.

⁵³And when they had crossed over, they came to the land unto Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.

⁵³ Wedi croesi at y tir daethant i Genesaret ac angori wrth y lan.

⁵⁴And when they were come out of the boat, straightway [the people] knew him,

⁵⁴ Pan ddaethant allan o'r cwch, adnabu'r bobl ef ar unwaith,

⁵⁵and ran round about that whole region, and began to carry about on their beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

⁵⁵ a dyma redeg o amgylch yr holl fro honno a dechrau cludo'r cleifion ar fatresi i ble bynnag y clywent ei fod ef.

⁵⁶And wheresoever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

⁵⁶ A phle bynnag y byddai'n mynd, i bentrefi neu i drefi neu i'r wlad, yr oeddent yn gosod y rhai oedd yn wael yn y marchnadleoedd, ac yn erfyn arno am iddynt gael dim ond cyffwrdd ag ymyl ei fantell. A phawb a gyffyrddodd ag ef, iachawyd hwy.
