1For all this I laid to my heart, even to explore all this: that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God; whether it be love or hatred, man knoweth it not; all is before them.
1Al cxio cxi tio mi direktis mian koron, por esplori cxion cxi tion, ke la virtuloj kaj sagxuloj kaj iliaj faroj estas en la mano de Dio; kaj nek amon nek malamon scias la homo, kaj nenion, kio lin atendas.
2All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth and to him that sacrificeth not; as is the good, so is the sinner; [and] he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
2Al cxiuj estas la sama sorto:al la virtulo kaj al la malvirtulo, al la bona kaj pura kaj al la malpura, al la oferfaranto kaj al tiu, kiu ne oferfaras, al la bonulo kaj al la pekulo, al la jxuranto kaj al tiu, kiu timas jxuron.
3This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea also, the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that [they go] to the dead.
3CXi tio estas malbona en cxio, kio farigxas sub la suno, ke la sama sorto ekzistas por cxiuj, kaj la koro de la homidoj estas plena de malbono, kaj sensencajxo estas en ilia koro dum ilia vivado, kaj poste ili transiras al la mortintoj.
4For to him that is joined with all the living there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
4CXar kiu trovigxas inter la vivuloj, tiu havas ankoraux esperon; cxar ecx al hundo vivanta estas pli bone, ol al leono mortinta.
5For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
5CXar la vivantoj scias, ke ili mortos; kaj la mortintoj scias nenion, kaj por ili jam ne ekzistas rekompenco, cxar la memoro pri ili estas forgesita.
6As well their love, as their hatred and their envy, is perished long ago; neither have they any more a portion for ever in anything that is done under the sun.
6Kaj ilia amo, kaj ilia malamo, kaj ilia jxaluzo jam de longe malaperis; kaj jam por neniam ili havas partoprenon en io, kio farigxas sub la suno.
7Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God hath already accepted thy works.
7Iru, mangxu gxoje vian panon, kaj trinku kun gaja koro vian vinon, se Dio favoris viajn aferojn.
8Let thy garments be always white; and let not thy head lack oil.
8En cxiu tempo viaj vestoj estu blankaj, kaj oleo ne manku sur via kapo.
9Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of thy life of vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all thy days of vanity: for that is thy portion in life, and in thy labor wherein thou laborest under the sun.
9GXuu la vivon kun la edzino, kiun vi amas en la tempo de via tuta vanta vivo, kaj kiun Dio donis al vi por cxiuj viaj vantaj tagoj; cxar cxi tio estas via apartenajxo en via vivo, kaj en viaj laboroj, kiujn vi laboris sub la suno.
10Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.
10Kion ajn via mano povas fari laux via forto, tion faru; cxar ekzistas nek faro, nek kalkulo, nek scio, nek sagxo, en SXeol, kien vi iros.
11I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
11Aliflanke mi vidis sub la suno, ke ne de la rapiduloj dependas la kuro, ne de la fortuloj dependas la milito, kaj ne la sagxuloj havas panon, kaj ne la talentuloj havas ricxecon, kaj ne la kompetentuloj trovas aprobon; nur de la tempo kaj okazo ili cxiuj dependas.
12For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare, even so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
12CXar ecx ne scias la homo sian sorton; kiel fisxoj, kaptitaj en pereigan reton, kaj kiel birdoj, implikigxintaj en kaptilon, tiel kaptigxas la homoj en tempo malbona, kiam gxi atakas ilin neatendite.
13I have also seen wisdom under the sun on this wise, and it seemed great unto me:
13Ankaux jenan sagxajxon mi vidis sub la suno, kaj gxi sxajnis al mi granda:
14There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it.
14estis urbo malgranda, kaj malmulte da homoj gxi havis; venis al gxi granda regxo, kaj siegxis gxin, kaj konstruis cxirkaux gxi grandajn siegxajn fortikajxojn;
15Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
15sed trovigxis en gxi homo malricxa sed sagxa, kaj li savis la urbon per sia sagxeco; tamen neniu rememoris tiun malricxan homon.
16Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.
16Kaj mi diris:Pli bona estas sagxo ol forto, tamen la sagxo de malricxulo estas malrespektata, kaj liaj vortoj ne estas auxdataj.
17The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.
17La vortoj de sagxuloj, trankvile auxskultitaj, estas pli bonaj ol la kriado de reganto inter malsagxuloj.
18Wisdom is better than weapons of war; but one sinner destroyeth much good.
18Pli bona estas sagxo, ol militaj instrumentoj; kaj unu pekulo pereigas multe da bono.
