¹The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

¹Jena vorto aperis de la Eternulo al Jeremia:

²Thus speaketh Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

²Tiele diras la Eternulo, Dio de Izrael:Enskribu al vi en libron cxiujn vortojn, kiujn Mi diris al vi.

³For, lo, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

³CXar jen venos tempo, diras la Eternulo, kiam Mi revenigos la kaptitojn de Mia popolo Izrael kaj Jehuda, diras la Eternulo, kaj Mi revenigos ilin en la landon, kiun Mi donis al iliaj patroj, kaj ili gxin posedos.

⁴And these are the words that Jehovah spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

⁴Kaj jen estas la vortoj, kiujn diris la Eternulo pri Izrael kaj Jehuda:

⁵For thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

⁵Tiele diras la Eternulo:Vocxon de tumulto kaj de teruro ni auxdas, ne de paco.

⁶Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child: wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

⁶Demandu kaj rigardu, cxu viro naskas? kial do Mi vidas, ke cxiu viro tenas siajn manojn cxe siaj lumboj, kiel naskantino, kaj cxies vizagxoj verdigxis?

⁷Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

⁷Ho ve, kiel granda estas tiu tago! ne ekzistas simila al gxi; tempo de mizero gxi estas por Jakob, sed li estos savita el gxi.

⁸And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman;

⁸En tiu tempo, diras la Eternulo Cebaot, Mi forrompos lian jugon de via kolo, kaj viajn ligilojn Mi dissxiros, kaj fremduloj ne plu servigos lin.

⁹but they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

⁹Sed ili servos al la Eternulo, sia Dio, kaj al David, sia regxo, kiun Mi restarigos al ili.

¹⁰Therefore fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

¹⁰Kaj vi ne timu, ho Mia servanto Jakob, diras la Eternulo, kaj ne tremu, ho Izrael; cxar jen Mi savos vin el malproksime kaj vian idaron el la lando de ilia kaptiteco, kaj Jakob revenos kaj vivos trankvile kaj pace, kaj neniu lin timigos.

¹¹For I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee, but I will not make a full end of thee; but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leave thee unpunished.

¹¹CXar Mi estos kun vi, diras la Eternulo, por savi vin; cxar Mi ekstermos cxiujn popolojn, inter kiujn Mi disjxetis vin, sed vin Mi ne ekstermos; Mi nur punos vin modere, por ke Mi ne lasu vin tute sen puno.

¹²For thus saith Jehovah, Thy hurt is incurable, and thy wound grievous.

¹²CXar tiele diras la Eternulo:Dangxera estas via vundo, kaj via ulcero estas dolorplena.

¹³There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

¹³Neniu jugxos vian aferon, por sanigi vian vundon; bona kuracado ne ekzistas por vi.

¹⁴All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not: for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased.

¹⁴CXiuj viaj amikoj forgesis vin, ili vin ne sercxas; cxar per frapo de malamiko Mi frapis vin, per kruela puno, pro viaj multaj malbonagoj, pro la forteco de viaj pekoj.

¹⁵Why criest thou for thy hurt? thy pain is incurable: for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

¹⁵Kial vi krias pri via vundo, pri via dangxera malsano? Mi tion faris al vi pro viaj multaj malbonagoj, pro la forteco de viaj pekoj.

¹⁶Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that despoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

¹⁶Tamen cxiuj viaj mangxegantoj estos mangxegitaj; kaj cxiuj viaj premantoj, cxiuj, iros en kaptitecon; viaj ruinigintoj estos ruinigitaj; kaj cxiuj viajn rabintojn Mi faros rabitaj.

¹⁷For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; because they have called thee an outcast, [saying], It is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

¹⁷Mi donos al vi kuracon, kaj Mi resanigos vin de viaj vundoj, diras la Eternulo; cxar ili nomis vin forpusxitino, ho Cion, pri kiu neniu demandas.

¹⁸Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.

¹⁸Tiele diras la Eternulo:Jen Mi revenigos el kaptiteco la tendojn de Jakob, kaj liajn logxejojn Mi kompatos; kaj la urbo estos konstruita sur sia monteto, kaj la templo estos starigita laux sia ordo.

¹⁹And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

¹⁹Kaj eliros el ili dankado kaj vocxo de gajuloj; Mi multigos ilin, kaj ili ne malmultigxos; Mi donos al ili honoron, kaj ili ne malaltigxos.

²⁰Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them.

²⁰Kaj ili havos filojn kiel antauxe, kaj ilia komunumo forte staros antaux Mi, kaj Mi punos cxiujn iliajn premintojn.

²¹And their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is he that hath had boldness to approach unto me? saith Jehovah.

²¹Kaj ilia potenculo estos el ili mem, kaj ilia reganto devenos el ilia propra mezo; Mi alproksimigos lin, kaj li aliros al Mi; cxar kiu alia kuragxos en sia koro alproksimigxi al Mi? diras la Eternulo.

²²And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

²²Kaj vi estos Mia popolo, kaj Mi estos via Dio.

²³Behold, the tempest of Jehovah, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, a sweeping tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked.

²³Jen eliros ventego de la Eternulo en kolero, ventego detruanta; gxi falos sur la kapon de la malpiuloj.

²⁴The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it.

²⁴Ne kvietigxos la flama kolero de la Eternulo, gxis Li estos farinta kaj gxis Li estos plenuminta la intencojn de Sia koro; en la tempo estonta vi tion komprenos.
