¹For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

¹Pühade abistamisest ei ole mul ju vaja teile kirjutada,

²for I know your readiness, of which I glory on your behalf to them of Macedonia, that Achaia hath been prepared for a year past; and your zeal hath stirred up very many of them.

²sest ma tean teie valmidust, mille pärast ma kiidan teid makedoonlaste ees, et Ahhaia on juba mullu olnud valmis ja et teie innukus on paljusid innustanud.

³But I have sent the brethren, that our glorying on your behalf may not be made void in this respect; that, even as I said, ye may be prepared:

³Ma olen läkitanud need vennad, et meie kiitlemine teie üle ei läheks selles osas tühja, vaid et te oleksite valmis, nagu ma olen rääkinud,

⁴lest by any means, if there come with me any of Macedonia and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be put to shame in this confidence.

⁴et mitte siis, kui makedoonlasi tuleb minuga kaasa ja kui nad leiavad, et te ei ole valmis, meie - ma ei tahaks öelda 'teie' - ei jääks häbisse selles usalduses.

⁵I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your aforepromised bounty, that the same might be ready as a matter of bounty, and not of extortion.

⁵Olen siis pidanud hädavajalikuks julgustada vendi, et nad tuleksid enne meid teie juurde ja valmistaksid ette teie varem tõotatud tänuandi, et see oleks valmis nagu tänu ja mitte nagu ihnutsemine.

⁶But this [I say,] He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

⁶Aga see on nii: kes kasinasti külvab, see ka lõikab kasinasti, ja kes rohkesti külvab, see ka lõikab rohkesti.

⁷[Let] each man [do] according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

⁷Igaüks andku nii, nagu ta süda on lubanud, mitte nördinult või sunnitult, sest Jumal armastab rõõmsat andjat.

⁸And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work:

⁸Jumal on vägev andma teile kogu armu rikkalikult, et teil ikka oleks kõike küllaldaselt ning et te oleksite rikkad iga teo tarvis,

⁹as it is written, He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the poor; His righteousness abideth for ever.

⁹nagu on kirjutatud: 'Ta on jaganud, andnud vaestele, tema õigus kestab igavesti.'

¹⁰And he that supplieth seed to the sower and bread for food, shall supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness:

¹⁰Tema, kes annab seemne külvajale, annab ka leiva toiduseks, teeb rohkeks teie külvi ja kasvatab teie õiguse vilja.

¹¹ye being enriched in everything unto all liberality, which worketh through us thanksgiving to God.

¹¹Te saate kõigiti rikkaks igasuguse siira headuse poolest, mis meie läbi valmistab tänu Jumalale,

¹²For the ministration of this service not only filleth up the measure of the wants of the saints, but aboundeth also through many thanksgivings unto God;

¹²sest selle teenistuse kaudu antud abi mitte ainult ei leevenda pühade puudust, vaid muutub ka rikkalikuks Jumalale antud rohke tänu kaudu.

¹³seeing that through the proving [of you] by this ministration they glorify God for the obedience of your confession unto the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of [your] contribution unto them and unto all;

¹³Selle abistamise ehtsuse tõttu te ülistate Jumalat oma kuulekuses Kristuse evangeeliumi tunnistamisel ja oma osaduse siiruses nende ja kõikidega.

¹⁴while they themselves also, with supplication on your behalf, long after you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.

¹⁴Oma palvetes teie eest nad igatsevad teie järele Jumala võrratu armu tõttu, mis teie peal on.

¹⁵Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

¹⁵Tänu olgu Jumalale tema ütlemata suure anni eest!
