1A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
1Aasafi laul. Jumal, paganad on tulnud su pärisossa; nad on rüvetanud su püha templi, on teinud Jeruusalemma kivivaremeks.
2The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be food unto the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
2Nad on su sulaste laibad andnud söögiks taeva lindudele ja su vagade liha metsloomadele.
3Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; And there was none to bury them.
3Nad on valanud nende verd nagu vett Jeruusalemma ümber ja ei ole olnud matjat.
4We are become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to them that are round about us.
4Me oleme saanud teotuseks oma naabritele, irvituseks ja pilkeks oma ümbruskonnale.
5How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou be angry for ever? Shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
5Kui kaua sa, Issand, oled lõpmata vihane ja su püha viha leegitseb nagu tuli?
6Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that know thee not, And upon the kingdoms that call not upon thy name.
6Vala oma vihaleek paganate peale, kes sind ei tunne, ja riikide peale, kes su nime ei kuuluta!
7For they have devoured Jacob, And laid waste his habitation.
7Sest nad on söönud ära Jaakobi ja on puupaljaks teinud tema eluaseme.
8Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers: Let thy tender mercies speedily meet us; For we are brought very low.
8Ära tuleta meelde meie vastu esivanemate pahategusid; tõtaku meid kohtama sinu halastus, sest me oleme väga kurnatud!
9Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name; And deliver us, and forgive our sins, for thy name's sake.
9Aita meid, meie pääste Jumal, oma nime auhiilguse pärast, ja tõmba meid välja ning tee lepitus meie pattude eest oma nime pärast!
10Wherefore should the nations say, Where is their God? Let the avenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed Be known among the nations in our sight.
10Mispärast peavad paganad ütlema: 'Kus on nende Jumal?' Saagu teatavaks paganate seas meie silma all, et kätte makstakse su sulaste veri, mis on valatud!
11Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee: According to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to death;
11Lase tulla oma palge ette vangide ägamine; oma käsivarre suurusega jäta ellu surmalapsed
12And render unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom Their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
12ja tasu meie naabritele seitsmekordselt sülle nende teotamised, millega nad on teotanud sind, Issand!
13So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture Will give thee thanks for ever: We will show forth thy praise to all generations.
13Aga meie, sinu rahvas ja su karjamaa lambad, täname sind igavesti; me jutustame sinu kiitust põlvest põlve.
