¹He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

²I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.

²see ütleb Issandale: 'Sina oled mu varjupaik ja mu kindel mäelinnus, mu Jumal, kelle peale ma loodan!'

³For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.

³Sest tema kisub su välja linnupüüdja paelust, hukkava katku käest.

⁴He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.

⁴Oma tiivasulgedega kaitseb ta sind ja tema tiibade all sa leiad varju; tema tõde on kilp ja kaitsevall.

⁵Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

⁵Ei sa siis karda öö hirmu ega noolt, mis päeval lendab,

⁶For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

⁶ei katku, mis rändab pilkases pimedas, ega tõbe, mis laastab lõunaajal.

⁷A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; [But] it shall not come nigh thee.

⁷Langegu tuhat su kõrvalt ja kümme tuhat su paremalt poolt, sinu külge see ei puutu.

⁸Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.

⁸Aga sa vaatad oma silmaga ja näed, kuidas kätte makstakse õelatele.

⁹For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;

⁹Sest sina, Issand, oled mu varjupaik! Kõigekõrgema oled sina, mu hing, võtnud oma eluasemeks.

¹⁰There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.

¹⁰Ei taba õnnetus sind ega lähene häda su telgile.

¹¹For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.

¹¹Sest tema annab oma inglitele sinu pärast käsu sind hoida kõigil su teedel.

¹²They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹²Kätel nad kannavad sind, et sa oma jalga ei lööks vastu kivi.

¹³Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.

¹³Sa astud üle lõvide ja rästikute, noored lõvid ja lohed sa lömastad.

¹⁴Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

¹⁴'Et ta minusse on kiindunud, siis ma päästan tema; ma ülendan tema, sest ta tunneb minu nime.

¹⁵He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.

¹⁵Ta hüüab mind appi ja ma vastan temale; mina olen ta juures, kui ta on kitsikuses, ma vabastan tema ning teen ta auliseks.

¹⁶With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.

¹⁶Pika eaga ma täidan tema ja annan temale näha oma päästet.'
