1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers' [houses] of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.
1Alors le roi Salomon assembla près de lui à Jérusalem les anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des tribus, les chefs de famille des enfants d'Israël, pour transporter de la cité de David, qui est Sion, l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel.
1אז יקהל שלמה את זקני ישראל את כל ראשי המטות נשיאי האבות לבני ישראל אל המלך שלמה ירושלם להעלות את ארון ברית יהוה מעיר דוד היא ציון׃
2And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
2Tous les hommes d'Israël se réunirent auprès du roi Salomon, au mois d'Ethanim, qui est le septième mois, pendant la fête.
2ויקהלו אל המלך שלמה כל איש ישראל בירח האתנים בחג הוא החדש השביעי׃
3And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
3Lorsque tous les anciens d'Israël furent arrivés, les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche.
3ויבאו כל זקני ישראל וישאו הכהנים את הארון׃
4And they brought up the ark of Jehovah, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these did the priests and the Levites bring up.
4Ils transportèrent l'arche de l'Eternel, la tente d'assignation, et tous les ustensiles sacrés qui étaient dans la tente: ce furent les sacrificateurs et les Lévites qui les transportèrent.
4ויעלו את ארון יהוה ואת אהל מועד ואת כל כלי הקדש אשר באהל ויעלו אתם הכהנים והלוים׃
5And king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.
5Le roi Salomon et toute l'assemblée d'Israël convoquée auprès de lui se tinrent devant l'arche. Ils sacrifièrent des brebis et des boeufs, qui ne purent être ni comptés, ni nombrés, à cause de leur multitude.
5והמלך שלמה וכל עדת ישראל הנועדים עליו אתו לפני הארון מזבחים צאן ובקר אשר לא יספרו ולא ימנו מרב׃
6And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah unto its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.
6Les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel à sa place, dans le sanctuaire de la maison, dans le lieu très saint, sous les ailes des chérubins.
6ויבאו הכהנים את ארון ברית יהוה אל מקומו אל דביר הבית אל קדש הקדשים אל תחת כנפי הכרובים׃
7For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
7Car les chérubins avaient les ailes étendues sur la place de l'arche, et ils couvraient l'arche et ses barres par-dessus.
7כי הכרובים פרשים כנפים אל מקום הארון ויסכו הכרבים על הארון ועל בדיו מלמעלה׃
8And the staves were so long that the ends of the staves were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
8On avait donné aux barres une longueur telle que leurs extrémités se voyaient du lieu saint devant le sanctuaire, mais ne se voyaient point du dehors. Elles ont été là jusqu'à ce jour.
8ויארכו הבדים ויראו ראשי הבדים מן הקדש על פני הדביר ולא יראו החוצה ויהיו שם עד היום הזה׃
9There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Jehovah made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
9Il n'y avait dans l'arche que les deux tables de pierre, que Moïse y déposa en Horeb, lorsque l'Eternel fit alliance avec les enfants d'Israël, à leur sortie du pays d'Egypte.
9אין בארון רק שני לחות האבנים אשר הנח שם משה בחרב אשר כרת יהוה עם בני ישראל בצאתם מארץ מצרים׃
10And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Jehovah,
10Au moment où les sacrificateurs sortirent du lieu saint, la nuée remplit la maison de l'Eternel.
10ויהי בצאת הכהנים מן הקדש והענן מלא את בית יהוה׃
11so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah filled the house of Jehovah.
11Les sacrificateurs ne purent pas y rester pour faire le service, à cause de la nuée; car la gloire de l'Eternel remplissait la maison de l'Eternel.
11ולא יכלו הכהנים לעמד לשרת מפני הענן כי מלא כבוד יהוה את בית יהוה׃
12Then spake Solomon, Jehovah hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
12Alors Salomon dit: L'Eternel veut habiter dans l'obscurité!
12אז אמר שלמה יהוה אמר לשכן בערפל׃
13I have surely built thee a house of habitation, a place for thee to dwell in for ever.
13J'ai bâti une maison qui sera ta demeure, un lieu où tu résideras éternellement!
13בנה בניתי בית זבל לך מכון לשבתך עולמים׃
14And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.
14Le roi tourna son visage, et bénit toute l'assemblée d'Israël; et toute l'assemblée d'Israël était debout.
14ויסב המלך את פניו ויברך את כל קהל ישראל וכל קהל ישראל עמד׃
15And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spake with his mouth unto David thy father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
15Et il dit: Béni soit l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui a parlé de sa bouche à David, mon père, et qui accomplit par sa puissance ce qu'il avait déclaré en disant:
15ויאמר ברוך יהוה אלהי ישראל אשר דבר בפיו את דוד אבי ובידו מלא לאמר׃
16Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
16Depuis le jour où j'ai fait sortir d'Egypte mon peuple d'Israël, je n'ai point choisi de ville parmi toutes les tribus d'Israël pour qu'il y fût bâti une maison où résidât mon nom, mais j'ai choisi David pour qu'il régnât sur mon peuple d'Israël!
16מן היום אשר הוצאתי את עמי את ישראל ממצרים לא בחרתי בעיר מכל שבטי ישראל לבנות בית להיות שמי שם ואבחר בדוד להיות על עמי ישראל׃
17Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.
17David, mon père, avait l'intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.
17ויהי עם לבב דוד אבי לבנות בית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל׃
18But Jehovah said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house for my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart:
18Et l'Eternel dit à David, mon père: Puisque tu as eu l'intention de bâtir une maison à mon nom, tu as bien fait d'avoir eu cette intention.
18ויאמר יהוה אל דוד אבי יען אשר היה עם לבבך לבנות בית לשמי הטיבת כי היה עם לבבך׃
19nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
19Seulement, ce ne sera pas toi qui bâtiras la maison; mais ce sera ton fils, sorti de tes entrailles, qui bâtira la maison à mon nom.
19רק אתה לא תבנה הבית כי אם בנך היצא מחלציך הוא יבנה הבית לשמי׃
20And Jehovah hath established his word that he spake; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and have built the house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.
20L'Eternel a accompli la parole qu'il avait prononcée. Je me suis élevé à la place de David, mon père, et je me suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'avait annoncé l'Eternel, et j'ai bâti la maison au nom de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.
20ויקם יהוה את דברו אשר דבר ואקם תחת דוד אבי ואשב על כסא ישראל כאשר דבר יהוה ואבנה הבית לשם יהוה אלהי ישראל׃
21And there have I set a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
21J'y ai disposé un lieu pour l'arche où est l'alliance de l'Eternel, l'alliance qu'il a faite avec nos pères quand il les fit sortir du pays d'Egypte.
21ואשם שם מקום לארון אשר שם ברית יהוה אשר כרת עם אבתינו בהוציאו אתם מארץ מצרים׃
22And Solomon stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;
22Salomon se plaça devant l'autel de l'Eternel, en face de toute l'assemblée d'Israël. Il étendit ses mains vers le ciel,
22ויעמד שלמה לפני מזבח יהוה נגד כל קהל ישראל ויפרש כפיו השמים׃
23and he said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepest covenant and lovingkindness with thy servants, that walk before thee with all their heart;
23et il dit: O Eternel, Dieu d'Israël! Il n'y a point de Dieu semblable à toi, ni en haut dans les cieux, ni en bas sur la terre: tu gardes l'alliance et la miséricorde envers tes serviteurs qui marchent en ta présence de tout leur coeur!
23ויאמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אין כמוך אלהים בשמים ממעל ועל הארץ מתחת שמר הברית והחסד לעבדיך ההלכים לפניך בכל לבם׃
24who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: yea, thou spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand, as it is this day.
24Ainsi tu as tenu parole à ton serviteur David, mon père; et ce que tu as déclaré de ta bouche, tu l'accomplis en ce jour par ta puissance.
24אשר שמרת לעבדך דוד אבי את אשר דברת לו ותדבר בפיך ובידך מלאת כיום הזה׃
25Now therefore, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
25Maintenant, Eternel, Dieu d'Israël, observe la promesse que tu as faite à David, mon père, en disant: Tu ne manqueras jamais devant moi d'un successeur assis sur le trône d'Israël, pourvu que tes fils prennent garde à leur voie et qu'ils marchent en ma présence comme tu as marché en ma présence.
25ועתה יהוה אלהי ישראל שמר לעבדך דוד אבי את אשר דברת לו לאמר לא יכרת לך איש מלפני ישב על כסא ישראל רק אם ישמרו בניך את דרכם ללכת לפני כאשר הלכת לפני׃
26Now therefore, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
26Oh! qu'elle s'accomplisse, Dieu d'Israël, la promesse que tu as faite à ton serviteur David, mon père!
26ועתה אלהי ישראל יאמן נא דבריך אשר דברת לעבדך דוד אבי׃
27But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded!
27Mais quoi! Dieu habiterait-il véritablement sur la terre? Voici, les cieux et les cieux des cieux ne peuvent te contenir: combien moins cette maison que je t'ai bâtie!
27כי האמנם ישב אלהים על הארץ הנה השמים ושמי השמים לא יכלכלוך אף כי הבית הזה אשר בניתי׃
28Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee this day;
28Toutefois, Eternel, mon Dieu, sois attentif à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication; écoute le cri et la prière que t'adresse aujourd'hui ton serviteur.
28ופנית אל תפלת עבדך ואל תחנתו יהוה אלהי לשמע אל הרנה ואל התפלה אשר עבדך מתפלל לפניך היום׃
29that thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereof thou hast said, My name shall be there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.
29Que tes yeux soient nuit et jour ouverts sur cette maison, sur le lieu dont tu as dit: Là sera mon nom! Ecoute la prière que ton serviteur fait en ce lieu.
29להיות עינך פתחות אל הבית הזה לילה ויום אל המקום אשר אמרת יהיה שמי שם לשמע אל התפלה אשר יתפלל עבדך אל המקום הזה׃
30And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place; and when thou hearest, forgive.
30Daigne exaucer la supplication de ton serviteur et de ton peuple d'Israël, lorsqu'ils prieront en ce lieu! Exauce du lieu de ta demeure, des cieux, exauce et pardonne!
30ושמעת אל תחנת עבדך ועמך ישראל אשר יתפללו אל המקום הזה ואתה תשמע אל מקום שבתך אל השמים ושמעת וסלחת׃
31If a man sin against his neighbor, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and he come [and] swear before thine altar in this house;
31Si quelqu'un pèche contre son prochain et qu'on lui impose un serment pour le faire jurer, et s'il vient jurer devant ton autel, dans cette maison, -
31את אשר יחטא איש לרעהו ונשא בו אלה להאלתו ובא אלה לפני מזבחך בבית הזה׃
32then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
32coute-le des cieux, agis, et juge tes serviteurs; condamne le coupable, et fais retomber sa conduite sur sa tête; rends justice à l'innocent, et traite-le selon son innocence!
32ואתה תשמע השמים ועשית ושפטת את עבדיך להרשיע רשע לתת דרכו בראשו ולהצדיק צדיק לתת לו כצדקתו׃
33When thy people Israel are smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; if they turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication unto thee in this house:
33Quand ton peuple d'Israël sera battu par l'ennemi, pour avoir péché contre toi; s'ils reviennent à toi et rendent gloire à ton nom, s'ils t'adressent des prières et des supplications dans cette maison, -
33בהנגף עמך ישראל לפני אויב אשר יחטאו לך ושבו אליך והודו את שמך והתפללו והתחננו אליך בבית הזה׃
34then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
34exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de ton peuple d'Israël, et ramène-les dans le pays que tu as donné à leurs pères!
34ואתה תשמע השמים וסלחת לחטאת עמך ישראל והשבתם אל האדמה אשר נתת לאבותם׃
35When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:
35Quand le ciel sera fermé et qu'il n'y aura point de pluie, à cause de leurs péchés contre toi, s'ils prient dans ce lieu et rendent gloire à ton nom, et s'ils se détournent de leurs péchés, parce que tu les auras châtiés, -
35בהעצר שמים ולא יהיה מטר כי יחטאו לך והתפללו אל המקום הזה והודו את שמך ומחטאתם ישובון כי תענם׃
36then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
36exauce-les des cieux, pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple d'Israël, à qui tu enseigneras la bonne voie dans laquelle ils doivent marcher, et fais venir la pluie sur la terre que tu as donnée en héritage à ton peuple!
36ואתה תשמע השמים וסלחת לחטאת עבדיך ועמך ישראל כי תורם את הדרך הטובה אשר ילכו בה ונתתה מטר על ארצך אשר נתתה לעמך לנחלה׃
37If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting [or] mildew, locust [or] caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;
37Quand la famine, la peste, la rouille, la nielle, les sauterelles d'une espèce ou d'une autre, seront dans le pays, quand l'ennemi assiégera ton peuple dans son pays, dans ses portes, quand il y aura des fléaux ou des maladies quelconques;
37רעב כי יהיה בארץ דבר כי יהיה שדפון ירקון ארבה חסיל כי יהיה כי יצר לו איבו בארץ שעריו כל נגע כל מחלה׃
38what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, [or] by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
38si un homme, si tout ton peuple d'Israël fait entendre des prières et des supplications, et que chacun reconnaisse la plaie de son coeur et étende les mains vers cette maison, -
38כל תפלה כל תחנה אשר תהיה לכל האדם לכל עמך ישראל אשר ידעון איש נגע לבבו ופרש כפיו אל הבית הזה׃
39then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and forgive, and do, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
39exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et pardonne; agis, et rends à chacun selon ses voies, toi qui connais le coeur de chacun, car seul tu connais le coeur de tous les enfants des hommes,
39ואתה תשמע השמים מכון שבתך וסלחת ועשית ונתת לאיש ככל דרכיו אשר תדע את לבבו כי אתה ידעת לבדך את לבב כל בני האדם׃
40that they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.
40et ils te craindront tout le temps qu'ils vivront dans le pays que tu as donné à nos pères!
40למען יראוך כל הימים אשר הם חיים על פני האדמה אשר נתתה לאבתינו׃
41Moreover concerning the foreigner, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for thy name's sake
41Quand l'étranger, qui n'est pas de ton peuple d'Israël, viendra d'un pays lointain, à cause de ton nom,
41וגם אל הנכרי אשר לא מעמך ישראל הוא ובא מארץ רחוקה למען שמך׃
42(for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy mighty hand, and of thine outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;
42car on saura que ton nom est grand, ta main forte, et ton bras étendu, quand il viendra prier dans cette maison, -
42כי ישמעון את שמך הגדול ואת ידך החזקה וזרעך הנטויה ובא והתפלל אל הבית הזה׃
43hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the foreigner calleth to thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by my name.
43exauce-le des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, et accorde à cet étranger tout ce qu'il te demandera, afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom pour te craindre, comme ton peuple d'Israël, et sachent que ton nom est invoqué sur cette maison que j'ai bâtie!
43אתה תשמע השמים מכון שבתך ועשית ככל אשר יקרא אליך הנכרי למען ידעון כל עמי הארץ את שמך ליראה אתך כעמך ישראל ולדעת כי שמך נקרא על הבית הזה אשר בניתי׃
44If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto Jehovah toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name;
44Quand ton peuple sortira pour combattre son ennemi, en suivant la voie que tu lui auras prescrite; s'ils adressent à l'Eternel des prières, les regards tournés vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom,
44כי יצא עמך למלחמה על איבו בדרך אשר תשלחם והתפללו אל יהוה דרך העיר אשר בחרת בה והבית אשר בנתי לשמך׃
45then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
45exauce des cieux leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit!
45ושמעת השמים את תפלתם ואת תחנתם ועשית משפטם׃
46If they sin against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto the land of the enemy, far off or near;
46Quand ils pécheront contre toi, car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche, quand tu seras irrité contre eux et que tu les livreras à l'ennemi, qui les emmènera captifs dans un pays ennemi, lointain ou rapproché;
46כי יחטאו לך כי אין אדם אשר לא יחטא ואנפת בם ונתתם לפני אויב ושבום שביהם אל ארץ האויב רחוקה או קרובה׃
47yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captive, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have dealt wickedly;
47s'ils rentrent en eux-mêmes dans le pays où ils seront captifs, s'ils reviennent à toi et t'adressent des supplications dans le pays de ceux qui les ont emmenés, et qu'ils disent: Nous avons péché, nous avons commis des iniquités, nous avons fait le mal!
47והשיבו אל לבם בארץ אשר נשבו שם ושבו והתחננו אליך בארץ שביהם לאמר חטאנו והעוינו רשענו׃
48if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
48s'ils reviennent à toi de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leurs ennemis qui les ont emmenés captifs, s'ils t'adressent des prières, les regards tournés vers leur pays que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie à ton nom, -
48ושבו אליך בכל לבבם ובכל נפשם בארץ איביהם אשר שבו אתם והתפללו אליך דרך ארצם אשר נתתה לאבותם העיר אשר בחרת והבית אשר בנית לשמך׃
49then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling-place, and maintain their cause;
49exauce des cieux, du lieu de ta demeure, leurs prières et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit;
49ושמעת השמים מכון שבתך את תפלתם ואת תחנתם ועשית משפטם׃
50and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them
50pardonne à ton peuple ses péchés et toutes ses transgressions contre toi; excite la compassion de ceux qui les retiennent captifs, afin qu'ils aient pitié d'eux,
50וסלחת לעמך אשר חטאו לך ולכל פשעיהם אשר פשעו בך ונתתם לרחמים לפני שביהם ורחמום׃
51(for they are thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);
51car ils sont ton peuple et ton héritage, et tu les as fait sortir d'Egypte, du milieu d'une fournaise de fer!
51כי עמך ונחלתך הם אשר הוצאת ממצרים מתוך כור הברזל׃
52that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them whensoever they cry unto thee.
52Que tes yeux soient ouverts sur la supplication de ton serviteur et sur la supplication de ton peuple d'Israël, pour les exaucer en tout ce qu'ils te demanderont!
52להיות עיניך פתחות אל תחנת עבדך ואל תחנת עמך ישראל לשמע אליהם בכל קראם אליך׃
53For thou didst separate them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Jehovah.
53Car tu les as séparés de tous les autres peuples de la terre pour en faire ton héritage, comme tu l'as déclaré par Moïse, ton serviteur, quand tu fis sortir d'Egypte nos pères, Seigneur Eternel!
53כי אתה הבדלתם לך לנחלה מכל עמי הארץ כאשר דברת ביד משה עבדך בהוציאך את אבתינו ממצרים אדני יהוה׃
54And it was so, that, when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto Jehovah, he arose from before the altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.
54Lorsque Salomon eut achevé d'adresser à l'Eternel toute cette prière et cette supplication, il se leva de devant l'autel de l'Eternel, où il était agenouillé, les mains étendues vers le ciel.
54ויהי ככלות שלמה להתפלל אל יהוה את כל התפלה והתחנה הזאת קם מלפני מזבח יהוה מכרע על ברכיו וכפיו פרשות השמים׃
55And he stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
55Debout, il bénit à haute voix toute l'assemblée d'Israël, en disant:
55ויעמד ויברך את כל קהל ישראל קול גדול לאמר׃
56Blessed be Jehovah, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.
56Béni soit l'Eternel, qui a donné du repos à son peuple d'Israël, selon toutes ses promesses! De toutes les bonnes paroles qu'il avait prononcées par Moïse, son serviteur, aucune n'est restée sans effet.
56ברוך יהוה אשר נתן מנוחה לעמו ישראל ככל אשר דבר לא נפל דבר אחד מכל דברו הטוב אשר דבר ביד משה עבדו׃
57Jehovah our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us;
57Que l'Eternel, notre Dieu, soit avec nous, comme il a été avec nos pères; qu'il ne nous abandonne point et ne nous délaisse point,
57יהי יהוה אלהינו עמנו כאשר היה עם אבתינו אל יעזבנו ואל יטשנו׃
58that he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.
58mais qu'il incline nos coeurs vers lui, afin que nous marchions dans toutes ses voies, et que nous observions ses commandements, ses lois et ses ordonnances, qu'il a prescrits à nos pères!
58להטות לבבנו אליו ללכת בכל דרכיו ולשמר מצותיו וחקיו ומשפטיו אשר צוה את אבתינו׃
59And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Jehovah, be nigh unto Jehovah our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall require;
59Que ces paroles, objet de mes supplications devant l'Eternel, soient jour et nuit présentes à l'Eternel, notre Dieu, et qu'il fasse en tout temps droit à son serviteur et à son peuple d'Israël,
59ויהיו דברי אלה אשר התחננתי לפני יהוה קרבים אל יהוה אלהינו יומם ולילה לעשות משפט עבדו ומשפט עמו ישראל דבר יום ביומו׃
60that all the peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah, he is God; there is none else.
60afin que tous les peuples de la terre reconnaissent que l'Eternel est Dieu, qu'il n'y en a point d'autre!
60למען דעת כל עמי הארץ כי יהוה הוא האלהים אין עוד׃
61Let your heart therefore be perfect with Jehovah our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
61Que votre coeur soit tout à l'Eternel, notre Dieu, comme il l'est aujourd'hui, pour suivre ses lois et pour observer ses commandements.
61והיה לבבכם שלם עם יהוה אלהינו ללכת בחקיו ולשמר מצותיו כיום הזה׃
62And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Jehovah.
62Le roi et tout Israël avec lui offrirent des sacrifices devant l'Eternel.
62והמלך וכל ישראל עמו זבחים זבח לפני יהוה׃
63And Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered unto Jehovah, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Jehovah.
63Salomon immola vingt-deux mille boeufs et cent vingt mille brebis pour le sacrifice d'actions de grâces qu'il offrit à l'Eternel. Ainsi le roi et tous les enfants d'Israël firent la dédicace de la maison de l'Eternel.
63ויזבח שלמה את זבח השלמים אשר זבח ליהוה בקר עשרים ושנים אלף וצאן מאה ועשרים אלף ויחנכו את בית יהוה המלך וכל בני ישראל׃
64The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of Jehovah; for there he offered the burnt-offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar that was before Jehovah was too little to receive the burnt-offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat of the peace-offerings.
64En ce jour, le roi consacra le milieu du parvis, qui est devant la maison de l'Eternel; car il offrit là les holocaustes, les offrandes, et les graisses des sacrifices d'actions de grâces, parce que l'autel d'airain qui est devant l'Eternel était trop petit pour contenir les holocaustes, les offrandes, et les graisses des sacrifices d'actions de grâces.
64ביום ההוא קדש המלך את תוך החצר אשר לפני בית יהוה כי עשה שם את העלה ואת המנחה ואת חלבי השלמים כי מזבח הנחשת אשר לפני יהוה קטן מהכיל את העלה ואת המנחה ואת חלבי השלמים׃
65So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt, before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.
65Salomon célébra la fête en ce temps-là, et tout Israël avec lui. Une grande multitude, venue depuis les environs de Hamath jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte, s'assembla devant l'Eternel, notre Dieu, pendant sept jours, et sept autres jours, soit quatorze jours.
65ויעש שלמה בעת ההיא את החג וכל ישראל עמו קהל גדול מלבוא חמת עד נחל מצרים לפני יהוה אלהינו שבעת ימים ושבעת ימים ארבעה עשר יום׃
66On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Jehovah had showed unto David his servant, and to Israel his people.
66Le huitième jour, il renvoya le peuple. Et ils bénirent le roi, et s'en allèrent dans leurs tentes, joyeux et le coeur content pour tout le bien que l'Eternel avait fait à David, son serviteur, et à Israël, son peuple.
66ביום השמיני שלח את העם ויברכו את המלך וילכו לאהליהם שמחים וטובי לב על כל הטובה אשר עשה יהוה לדוד עבדו ולישראל עמו׃
