1And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And Jehovah showed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,
1Moïse monta des plaines de Moab sur le mont Nebo, au sommet du Pisga, vis-à-vis de Jéricho. Et l'Eternel lui fit voir tout le pays: Galaad jusqu'à Dan,
1ויעל משה מערבת מואב אל הר נבו ראש הפסגה אשר על פני ירחו ויראהו יהוה את כל הארץ את הגלעד עד דן׃
2and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the hinder sea,
2tout Nephthali, le pays d'Ephraïm et de Manassé, tout le pays de Juda jusqu'à la mer occidentale,
2ואת כל נפתלי ואת ארץ אפרים ומנשה ואת כל ארץ יהודה עד הים האחרון׃
3and the South, and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm-trees, unto Zoar.
3le midi, les environs du Jourdain, la vallée de Jéricho, la ville des palmiers, jusqu'à Tsoar.
3ואת הנגב ואת הככר בקעת ירחו עיר התמרים עד צער׃
4And Jehovah said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
4L'Eternel lui dit: C'est là le pays que j'ai juré de donner à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, en disant: Je le donnerai à ta postérité. Je te l'ai fait voir de tes yeux; mais tu n'y entreras point.
4ויאמר יהוה אליו זאת הארץ אשר נשבעתי לאברהם ליצחק וליעקב לאמר לזרעך אתננה הראיתיך בעיניך ושמה לא תעבר׃
5So Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah.
5Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel, mourut là, dans le pays de Moab, selon l'ordre de l'Eternel.
5וימת שם משה עבד יהוה בארץ מואב על פי יהוה׃
6And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.
6Et l'Eternel l'enterra dans la vallée, au pays de Moab, vis-à-vis de Beth-Peor. Personne n'a connu son sépulcre jusqu'à ce jour.
6ויקבר אתו בגי בארץ מואב מול בית פעור ולא ידע איש את קברתו עד היום הזה׃
7And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
7Moïse était âgé de cent vingt ans lorsqu'il mourut; sa vue n'était point affaiblie, et sa vigueur n'était point passée.
7ומשה בן מאה ועשרים שנה במתו לא כהתה עינו ולא נס לחה׃
8And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.
8Les enfants d'Israël pleurèrent Moïse pendant trente jours, dans les plaines de Moab; et ces jours de pleurs et de deuil sur Moïse arrivèrent à leur terme.
8ויבכו בני ישראל את משה בערבת מואב שלשים יום ויתמו ימי בכי אבל משה׃
9And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as Jehovah commanded Moses.
9Josué, fils de Nun, était rempli de l'esprit de sagesse, car Moïse avait posé ses mains sur lui. Les enfants d'Israël lui obéirent, et se conformèrent aux ordres que l'Eternel avait donnés à Moïse.
9ויהושע בן נון מלא רוח חכמה כי סמך משה את ידיו עליו וישמעו אליו בני ישראל ויעשו כאשר צוה יהוה את משה׃
10And there hath not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom Jehovah knew face to face,
10Il n'a plus paru en Israël de prophète semblable à Moïse, que l'Eternel connaissait face à face.
10ולא קם נביא עוד בישראל כמשה אשר ידעו יהוה פנים אל פנים׃
11in all the signs and the wonders, which Jehovah sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,
11Nul ne peut lui être comparé pour tous les signes et les miracles que Dieu l'envoya faire au pays d'Egypte contre Pharaon, contre ses serviteurs et contre tout son pays,
11לכל האתות והמופתים אשר שלחו יהוה לעשות בארץ מצרים לפרעה ולכל עבדיו ולכל ארצו׃
12and in all the mighty hand, and in all the great terror, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.
12et pour tous les prodiges de terreur que Moïse accomplit à main forte sous les yeux de tout Israël.
12ולכל היד החזקה ולכל המורא הגדול אשר עשה משה לעיני כל ישראל׃
