¹The word of Jehovah came again unto me, saying,

¹La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

¹ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

²Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Wail ye, Alas for the day!

²Fils de l'homme, prophétise, et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Gémissez!... Malheureux jour!

²בן אדם הנבא ואמרת כה אמר אדני יהוה הילילו הה ליום׃

³For the day is near, even the day of Jehovah is near; it shall be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

³Car le jour approche, le jour de l'Eternel approche, Jour ténébreux: ce sera le temps des nations.

³כי קרוב יום וקרוב יום ליהוה יום ענן עת גוים יהיה׃

⁴And a sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt; and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.

⁴L'épée fondra sur l'Egypte, Et l'épouvante sera dans l'Ethiopie, Quand les morts tomberont en Egypte, Quand on enlèvera ses richesses, Et que ses fondements seront renversés.

⁴ובאה חרב במצרים והיתה חלחלה בכוש בנפל חלל במצרים ולקחו המונה ונהרסו יסודתיה׃

⁵Ethiopia, and Put, and Lud, and all the mingled people, and Cub, and the children of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

⁵L'Ethiopie, Puth, Lud, toute l'Arabie, Cub, Et les fils du pays allié, Tomberont avec eux par l'épée.

⁵כוש ופוט ולוד וכל הערב וכוב ובני ארץ הברית אתם בחרב יפלו׃

⁶Thus saith Jehovah: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from the tower of Seveneh shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord Jehovah.

⁶Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Ils tomberont, les soutiens de l'Egypte, Et l'orgueil de sa force périra; De Migdol à Syène ils tomberont par l'épée, Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.

⁶כה אמר יהוה ונפלו סמכי מצרים וירד גאון עזה ממגדל סונה בחרב יפלו בה נאם אדני יהוה׃

⁷And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.

⁷Ils seront dévastés entre les pays dévastés, Et ses villes seront entre les villes désertes.

⁷ונשמו בתוך ארצות נשמות ועריו בתוך ערים נחרבות תהיינה׃

⁸And they shall know at I am Jehovah, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers are destroyed.

⁸Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel, Quand je mettrai le feu dans l'Egypte, Et que tous ses soutiens seront brisés.

⁸וידעו כי אני יהוה בתתי אש במצרים ונשברו כל עזריה׃

⁹In that day shall messengers go forth from before me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid; and there shall be anguish upon them, as in the day of Egypt; for, lo, it cometh.

⁹En ce jour-là, des messagers iront de ma part sur des navires Troubler l'Ethiopie dans sa sécurité; Et l'épouvante sera parmi eux au jour de l'Egypte, Car voici, ces choses arrivent!

⁹ביום ההוא יצאו מלאכים מלפני בצים להחריד את כוש בטח והיתה חלחלה בהם ביום מצרים כי הנה באה׃

¹⁰Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease, by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

¹⁰Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Je ferai disparaître la multitude de l'Egypte, Par la main de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone.

¹⁰כה אמר אדני יהוה והשבתי את המון מצרים ביד נבוכדראצר מלך בבל׃

¹¹He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

¹¹Lui et son peuple avec lui, Le plus violent d'entre les peuples, Seront envoyés pour détruire le pays; Ils tireront l'épée contre l'Egypte, Et rempliront le pays de morts.

¹¹הוא ועמו אתו עריצי גוים מובאים לשחת הארץ והריקו חרבותם על מצרים ומלאו את הארץ חלל׃

¹²And I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men; and I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

¹²Je mettrai les canaux à sec, Je livrerai le pays entre les mains des méchants; Je ravagerai le pays et ce qu'il renferme, par la main des étrangers. Moi, l'Eternel, j'ai parlé.

¹²ונתתי יארים חרבה ומכרתי את הארץ ביד רעים והשמתי ארץ ומלאה ביד זרים אני יהוה דברתי׃

¹³Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis; and there shall be no more a prince from the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

¹³Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: J'anéantirai les idoles, Et j'ôterai de Noph les vains simulacres; Il n'y aura plus de prince du pays d'Egypte, Et je répandrai la terreur dans le pays d'Egypte.

¹³כה אמר אדני יהוה והאבדתי גלולים והשבתי אלילים מנף ונשיא מארץ מצרים לא יהיה עוד ונתתי יראה בארץ מצרים׃

¹⁴And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments upon No.

¹⁴Je dévasterai Pathros, Je mettrai le feu à Tsoan, Et j'exercerai mes jugements sur No.

¹⁴והשמתי את פתרוס ונתתי אש בצען ועשיתי שפטים בנא׃

¹⁵And I will pour my wrath upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

¹⁵Je répandrai ma fureur sur Sin, la forteresse de l'Egypte, Et j'exterminerai la multitude de No.

¹⁵ושפכתי חמתי על סין מעוז מצרים והכרתי את המון נא׃

¹⁶And I will set a fire in Egypt: Sin shall be in great anguish, and No shall be broken up; and Memphis [shall have] adversaries in the day-time.

¹⁶Je mettrai le feu dans l'Egypte; Sin sera saisie d'angoisse, No sera ouverte par la brèche, Et Noph conquise en plein jour par les ennemis.

¹⁶ונתתי אש במצרים חול תחיל סין ונא תהיה להבקע ונף צרי יומם׃

¹⁷The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword; and these [cities] shall go into captivity.

¹⁷Les jeunes hommes d'On et de Pi-Béseth tomberont par l'épée, Et ces villes iront en captivité.

¹⁷בחורי און ופי בסת בחרב יפלו והנה בשבי תלכנה׃

¹⁸At Tehaphnehes also the day shall withdraw itself, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her power shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

¹⁸A Tachpanès le jour s'obscurcira, Quand j'y briserai le joug de l'Egypte, Et que l'orgueil de sa force y prendra fin; Un nuage couvrira Tachpanès, Et ses filles iront en captivité.

¹⁸ובתחפנחס חשך היום בשברי שם את מטות מצרים ונשבת בה גאון עזה היא ענן יכסנה ובנותיה בשבי תלכנה׃

¹⁹Thus will I execute judgments upon Egypt; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

¹⁹J'exercerai mes jugements sur l'Egypte, Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel.

¹⁹ועשיתי שפטים במצרים וידעו כי אני יהוה׃

²⁰And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first [month], in the seventh [day] of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

²⁰La onzième année, le septième jour du premier mois, la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

²⁰ויהי באחת עשרה שנה בראשון בשבעה לחדש היה דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

²¹Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it hath not been bound up, to apply [healing] medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it be strong to hold the sword.

²¹Fils de l'homme, j'ai rompu le bras de Pharaon, roi d'Egypte; Et voici, on ne l'a point pansé pour le guérir, On ne l'a point enveloppé d'un bandage Pour le lier et le raffermir, Afin qu'il puisse manier l'épée.

²¹בן אדם את זרוע פרעה מלך מצרים שברתי והנה לא חבשה לתת רפאות לשום חתול לחבשה לחזקה לתפש בחרב׃

²²Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong [arm], and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

²²C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Voici, j'en veux à Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, Et je lui romprai les bras, Celui qui est en bon état et celui qui est cassé. Et je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main.

²²לכן כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני אל פרעה מלך מצרים ושברתי את זרעתיו את החזקה ואת הנשברת והפלתי את החרב מידו׃

²³And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

²³Je répandrai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, Je les disperserai en divers pays.

²³והפצותי את מצרים בגוים וזריתם בארצות׃

²⁴And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

²⁴Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, Et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main; Je romprai les bras de Pharaon, Et il gémira devant lui comme gémissent les mourants.

²⁴וחזקתי את זרעות מלך בבל ונתתי את חרבי בידו ושברתי את זרעות פרעה ונאק נאקות חלל לפניו׃

²⁵And I will hold up the arms of the king of Babylon; and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.

²⁵Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, Et les bras de Pharaon tomberont. Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel, Quand je mettrai mon épée dans la main du roi de Babylone, Et qu'il la tournera contre le pays d'Egypte.

²⁵והחזקתי את זרעות מלך בבל וזרעות פרעה תפלנה וידעו כי אני יהוה בתתי חרבי ביד מלך בבל ונטה אותה אל ארץ מצרים׃

²⁶And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

²⁶Je répandrai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, Je les disperserai en divers pays, Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel.

²⁶והפצותי את מצרים בגוים וזריתי אותם בארצות וידעו כי אני יהוה׃
