¹In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth [day] of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither.

¹La vingt-cinquième année de notre captivité, au commencement de l'année, le dixième jour du mois, quatorze ans après la ruine de la ville, en ce même jour, la main de l'Eternel fut sur moi, et il me transporta

¹בעשרים וחמש שנה לגלותנו בראש השנה בעשור לחדש בארבע עשרה שנה אחר אשר הכתה העיר בעצם היום הזה היתה עלי יד יהוה ויבא אתי שמה׃

²In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south.

²dans le pays d'Israël. Il m'y transporta, dans des visions divines, et me déposa sur une montagne très élevée, où se trouvait au midi comme une ville construite.

²במראות אלהים הביאני אל ארץ ישראל ויניחני אל הר גבה מאד ועליו כמבנה עיר מנגב׃

³And he brought me thither; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

³Il me conduisit là; et voici, il y avait un homme dont l'aspect était comme l'aspect de l'airain; il avait dans la main un cordeau de lin et une canne pour mesurer, et il se tenait à la porte.

³ויביא אותי שמה והנה איש מראהו כמראה נחשת ופתיל פשתים בידו וקנה המדה והוא עמד בשער׃

⁴And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee; for, to the intent that I may show them unto thee, art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

⁴Cet homme me dit: Fils de l'homme, regarde de tes yeux, et écoute de tes oreilles! Applique ton attention à toutes les choses que je te montrerai, car tu as été amené ici afin que je te les montre. Fais connaître à la maison d'Israël tout ce que tu verras.

⁴וידבר אלי האיש בן אדם ראה בעיניך ובאזניך שמע ושים לבך לכל אשר אני מראה אותך כי למען הראותכה הבאתה הנה הגד את כל אשר אתה ראה לבית ישראל׃

⁵And, behold, a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed six cubits long, of a cubit and a handbreadth each: so he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

⁵Voici, un mur extérieur entourait la maison de tous côtés. Dans la main de l'homme était une canne de six coudées pour mesurer, chaque coudée ayant un palme de plus que la coudée ordinaire. Il mesura la largeur du mur, qui était d'une canne, et la hauteur, qui était d'une canne.

⁵והנה חומה מחוץ לבית סביב סביב וביד האיש קנה המדה שש אמות באמה וטפח וימד את רחב הבנין קנה אחד וקומה קנה אחד׃

⁶Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold, one reed broad.

⁶Il alla vers la porte orientale, et il en monta les degrés. Il mesura le seuil de la porte, qui avait une canne en largeur, et l'autre seuil, qui avait une canne en largeur.

⁶ויבוא אל שער אשר פניו דרך הקדימה ויעל במעלתו וימד את סף השער קנה אחד רחב ואת סף אחד קנה אחד רחב׃

⁷And every lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and [the space] between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.

⁷Chaque chambre était longue d'une canne, et large d'une canne. Il y avait entre les chambres un espace de cinq coudées. Le seuil de la porte, près du vestibule de la porte, à l'intérieur, avait une canne.

⁷והתא קנה אחד ארך וקנה אחד רחב ובין התאים חמש אמות וסף השער מאצל אולם השער מהבית קנה אחד׃

⁸He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.

⁸Il mesura le vestibule de la porte, à l'intérieur; il avait une canne.

⁸וימד את אלם השער מהבית קנה אחד׃

⁹Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.

⁹Il mesura le vestibule de la porte; il avait huit coudées, et ses poteaux en avaient deux; le vestibule de la porte était en dedans.

⁹וימד את אלם השער שמנה אמות ואילו שתים אמות ואלם השער מהבית׃

¹⁰And the lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

¹⁰Les chambres de la porte orientale étaient au nombre de trois d'un côté et de trois de l'autre; toutes les trois avaient la même mesure, et les poteaux de chaque côté avaient aussi la même mesure.

¹⁰ותאי השער דרך הקדים שלשה מפה ושלשה מפה מדה אחת לשלשתם ומדה אחת לאילם מפה ומפו׃

¹¹And he measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;

¹¹Il mesura la largeur de l'ouverture de la porte, qui était de dix coudées, et la hauteur de la porte, qui était de treize coudées.

¹¹וימד את רחב פתח השער עשר אמות ארך השער שלוש עשרה אמות׃

¹²and a border before the lodges, one cubit [on this side], and a border, one cubit on that side; and the lodges, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

¹²Il y avait devant les chambres un espace d'une coudée de chaque côté et d'autre; chaque chambre avait six coudées d'un côté, et six coudées de l'autre.

¹²וגבול לפני התאות אמה אחת ואמה אחת גבול מפה והתא שש אמות מפו ושש אמות מפו׃

¹³And he measured the gate from the roof of the one lodge to the roof of the other, a breadth of five and twenty cubits; door against door.

¹³Il mesura la porte depuis le toit d'une chambre jusqu'au toit de l'autre; il y avait une largeur de vingt-cinq coudées entre les deux ouvertures opposées.

¹³וימד את השער מגג התא לגגו רחב עשרים וחמש אמות פתח נגד פתח׃

¹⁴He made also posts, threescore cubits; and the court [reached] unto the posts, round about the gate.

¹⁴Il compta soixante coudées pour les poteaux, près desquels était une cour, autour de la porte.

¹⁴ויעש את אילים ששים אמה ואל איל החצר השער סביב סביב׃

¹⁵And [from] the forefront of the gate at the entrance unto the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.

¹⁵L'espace entre la porte d'entrée et le vestibule de la porte intérieure était de cinquante coudées.

¹⁵ועל פני השער היאתון על לפני אלם השער הפנימי חמשים אמה׃

¹⁶And there were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches; and windows were round about inward; and upon [each] post were palm-trees.

¹⁶Il y avait des fenêtres grillées aux chambres et à leurs poteaux à l'intérieur de la porte tout autour; il y avait aussi des fenêtres dans les vestibules tout autour intérieurement; des palmes étaient sculptées sur les poteaux.

¹⁶וחלונות אטמות אל התאים ואל אליהמה לפנימה לשער סביב סביב וכן לאלמות וחלונות סביב סביב לפנימה ואל איל תמרים׃

¹⁷Then brought he me into the outer court; and, lo, there were chambers and a pavement, made for the court round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement.

¹⁷Il me conduisit dans le parvis extérieur, où se trouvaient des chambres et un pavé tout autour; il y avait trente chambres sur ce pavé.

¹⁷ויביאני אל החצר החיצונה והנה לשכות ורצפה עשוי לחצר סביב סביב שלשים לשכות אל הרצפה׃

¹⁸And the pavement was by the side of the gates, answerable unto the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.

¹⁸Le pavé était au côté des portes, et répondait à la longueur des portes; c'était le pavé inférieur.

¹⁸והרצפה אל כתף השערים לעמת ארך השערים הרצפה התחתונה׃

¹⁹Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, a hundred cubits, [both] on the east and on the north.

¹⁹Il mesura la largeur depuis la porte d'en bas jusqu'au parvis intérieur en dehors; il y avait cent coudées, à l'orient et au septentrion.

¹⁹וימד רחב מלפני השער התחתונה לפני החצר הפנימי מחוץ מאה אמה הקדים והצפון׃

²⁰And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof.

²⁰Il mesura la longueur et la largeur de la porte septentrionale du parvis extérieur.

²⁰והשער אשר פניו דרך הצפון לחצר החיצונה מדד ארכו ורחבו׃

²¹And the lodges thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

²¹Ses chambres, au nombre de trois d'un côté et de trois de l'autre, ses poteaux et ses vestibules, avaient la même mesure que la première porte, cinquante coudées en longueur et vingt-cinq coudées en largeur.

²¹ותאו שלושה מפו ושלשה מפו ואילו ואלמו היה כמדת השער הראשון חמשים אמה ארכו ורחב חמש ועשרים באמה׃

²²And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.

²²Ses fenêtres, son vestibule, ses palmes, avaient la même mesure que la porte orientale; on y montait par sept degrés, devant lesquels était son vestibule.

²²וחלונו ואלמו ותמרו כמדת השער אשר פניו דרך הקדים ובמעלות שבע יעלו בו ואילמו לפניהם׃

²³And there was a gate to the inner court over against the [other] gate, [both] on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits.

²³Il y avait une porte au parvis intérieur, vis-à-vis de la porte septentrionale et vis-à-vis de la porte orientale; il mesura d'une porte à l'autre cent coudées.

²³ושער לחצר הפנימי נגד השער לצפון ולקדים וימד משער אל שער מאה אמה׃

²⁴And he led me toward the south; and, behold, a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures.

²⁴Il me conduisit du côté du midi, où se trouvait la porte méridionale. Il en mesura les poteaux et les vestibules, qui avaient la même mesure.

²⁴ויולכני דרך הדרום והנה שער דרך הדרום ומדד אילו ואילמו כמדות האלה׃

²⁵And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

²⁵Cette porte et ses vestibules avaient des fenêtres tout autour, comme les autres fenêtres, cinquante coudées en longueur et vingt-cinq coudées en largeur.

²⁵וחלונים לו ולאילמו סביב סביב כהחלנות האלה חמשים אמה ארך ורחב חמש ועשרים אמה׃

²⁶And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them; and it had palm-trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.

²⁶On y montait par sept degrés, devant lesquels était son vestibule; il y avait de chaque côté des palmes sur ses poteaux.

²⁶ומעלות שבעה עלותו ואלמו לפניהם ותמרים לו אחד מפו ואחד מפו אל אילו׃

²⁷And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south a hundred cubits.

²⁷Le parvis intérieur avait une porte du côté du midi; il mesura d'une porte à l'autre au midi cent coudées.

²⁷ושער לחצר הפנימי דרך הדרום וימד משער אל השער דרך הדרום מאה אמות׃

²⁸Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures;

²⁸Il me conduisit dans le parvis intérieur, par la porte du midi. Il mesura la porte du midi, qui avait la même mesure.

²⁸ויביאני אל חצר הפנימי בשער הדרום וימד את השער הדרום כמדות האלה׃

²⁹and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

²⁹Ses chambres, ses poteaux et ses vestibules, avaient la même mesure. Cette porte et ses vestibules avaient des fenêtres tout autour, cinquante coudées en longueur et vingt-cinq coudées en largeur.

²⁹ותאו ואילו ואלמו כמדות האלה וחלונות לו ולאלמו סביב סביב חמשים אמה ארך ורחב עשרים וחמש אמות׃

³⁰And there were arches round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.

³⁰Il y avait tout autour des vestibules de vingt-cinq coudées de longueur et de cinq de largeur.

³⁰ואלמות סביב סביב ארך חמש ועשרים אמה ורחב חמש אמות׃

³¹And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

³¹Les vestibules de la porte aboutissaient au parvis extérieur; il y avait des palmes sur ses poteaux, et huit degrés pour y monter.

³¹ואלמו אל חצר החצונה ותמרים אל אילו ומעלות שמונה מעלו׃

³²And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures;

³²ויביאני אל החצר הפנימי דרך הקדים וימד את השער כמדות האלה׃

³³and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

³⁴And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

³⁵And he brought me to the north gate: and he measured [it] according to these measures;

³⁵Il me conduisit vers la porte septentrionale. Il la mesura, et trouva la même mesure,

³⁵ויביאני אל שער הצפון ומדד כמדות האלה׃

³⁶the lodges thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof: and there were windows therein round about; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

³⁶ainsi qu'à ses chambres, à ses poteaux et à ses vestibules; elle avait des fenêtres tout autour; cinquante coudées en longueur et vingt-cinq coudées en largeur.

³⁶תאו אלו ואלמו וחלונות לו סביב סביב ארך חמשים אמה ורחב חמש ועשרים אמה׃

³⁷And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

³⁷Ses vestibules aboutissaient au parvis extérieur; il y avait de chaque côté des palmes sur ses poteaux, et huit degrés pour y monter.

³⁷ואילו לחצר החיצונה ותמרים אל אילו מפו ומפו ושמנה מעלות מעלו׃

³⁸And a chamber with the door thereof was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt-offering.

³⁸Il y avait une chambre qui s'ouvrait vers les poteaux des portes, et où l'on devait laver les holocaustes.

³⁸ולשכה ופתחה באילים השערים שם ידיחו את העלה׃

³⁹And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt-offering and the sin-offering and the trespass-offering.

³⁹Dans le vestibule de la porte se trouvaient de chaque côté deux tables, sur lesquelles on devait égorger l'holocauste, le sacrifice d'expiation et le sacrifice de culpabilité.

³⁹ובאלם השער שנים שלחנות מפו ושנים שלחנות מפה לשחוט אליהם העולה והחטאת והאשם׃

⁴⁰And on the [one] side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.

⁴⁰A l'un des côtés extérieurs par où l'on montait, à l'entrée de la porte septentrionale, il y avait deux tables; et à l'autre côté, vers le vestibule de la porte, il y avait deux tables.

⁴⁰ואל הכתף מחוצה לעולה לפתח השער הצפונה שנים שלחנות ואל הכתף האחרת אשר לאלם השער שנים שלחנות׃

⁴¹Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew [the sacrifices].

⁴¹Il se trouvait ainsi, aux côtés de la porte, quatre tables d'une part et quatre tables de l'autre, en tout huit tables, sur lesquelles on devait égorger les victimes.

⁴¹ארבעה שלחנות מפה וארבעה שלחנות מפה לכתף השער שמונה שלחנות אליהם ישחטו׃

⁴²And there were four tables for the burnt-offering, of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high; whereupon they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt-offering and the sacrifice.

⁴²Il y avait encore pour les holocaustes quatre tables en pierres de taille, longues d'une coudée et demie, larges d'une coudée et demie, et hautes d'une coudée; on devait mettre sur ces tables les instruments avec lesquels on égorgeait les victimes pour les holocaustes et pour les autres sacrifices.

⁴²וארבעה שלחנות לעולה אבני גזית ארך אמה אחת וחצי ורחב אמה אחת וחצי וגבה אמה אחת אליהם ויניחו את הכלים אשר ישחטו את העולה בם והזבח׃

⁴³And the hooks, a handbreadth long, were fastened within round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the oblation.

⁴³Des rebords de quatre doigts étaient adaptés à la maison tout autour; et la chair des sacrifices devait être mise sur les tables.

⁴³והשפתים טפח אחד מוכנים בבית סביב סביב ואל השלחנות בשר הקרבן׃

⁴⁴And without the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.

⁴⁴En dehors de la porte intérieure il y avait des chambres pour les chantres, dans le parvis intérieur: l'une était à côté de la porte septentrionale et avait la face au midi, l'autre était à côté de la porte orientale et avait la face au septentrion.

⁴⁴ומחוצה לשער הפנימי לשכות שרים בחצר הפנימי אשר אל כתף שער הצפון ופניהם דרך הדרום אחד אל כתף שער הקדים פני דרך הצפן׃

⁴⁵And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house;

⁴⁵Il me dit: Cette chambre, dont la face est au midi, est pour les sacrificateurs qui ont la garde de la maison;

⁴⁵וידבר אלי זה הלשכה אשר פניה דרך הדרום לכהנים שמרי משמרת הבית׃

⁴⁶and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Jehovah to minister unto him.

⁴⁶et la chambre dont la face est au septentrion est pour les sacrificateurs qui ont la garde de l'autel. Ce sont les fils de Tsadok, qui, parmi les fils de Lévi, s'approchent de l'Eternel pour le servir.

⁴⁶והלשכה אשר פניה דרך הצפון לכהנים שמרי משמרת המזבח המה בני צדוק הקרבים מבני לוי אל יהוה לשרתו׃

⁴⁷And he measured the court, a hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.

⁴⁷Il mesura le parvis, qui avait cent coudées de longueur et cent coudées de largeur, en carré. L'autel était devant la maison.

⁴⁷וימד את החצר ארך מאה אמה ורחב מאה אמה מרבעת והמזבח לפני הבית׃

⁴⁸Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

⁴⁸Il me conduisit dans le vestibule de la maison. Il mesura les poteaux du vestibule, et trouva cinq coudées d'un côté et cinq coudées de l'autre. La largeur de la porte était de trois coudées d'un côté et de trois coudées de l'autre.

⁴⁸ויבאני אל אלם הבית וימד אל אלם חמש אמות מפה וחמש אמות מפה ורחב השער שלש אמות מפו ושלש אמות מפו׃

⁴⁹The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

⁴⁹Le vestibule avait une longueur de vingt coudées et une largeur de onze coudées; on y montait par des degrés. Il y avait des colonnes près des poteaux, l'une d'un côté, et l'autre de l'autre.

⁴⁹ארך האלם עשרים אמה ורחב עשתי עשרה אמה ובמעלות אשר יעלו אליו ועמדים אל האילים אחד מפה ואחד מפה׃
