¹Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, [even] Jesus;

¹C'est pourquoi, frères saints, qui avez part à la vocation céleste, considérez l'apôtre et le souverain sacrificateur de la foi que nous professons,

¹לכן אחי הקדושים חברים לקריאה של מעלה הביטו אל השליח וכהן הודיתנו הגדול אל המשיח ישוע׃

²who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house.

²Jésus, qui a été fidèle à celui qui l'a établi, comme le fut Moïse dans toute sa maison.

²אשר הוא נאמן לעשהו כמו גם משה בכל ביתו׃

³For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that built the house hath more honor than the house.

³Car il a été jugé digne d'une gloire d'autant supérieure à celle de Moïse que celui qui a construit une maison a plus d'honneur que la maison même.

³כי כבוד גדול ממשה נחל זה כאשר בנה הבית חשוב יותר מן הבית׃

⁴For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God.

⁴Chaque maison est construite par quelqu'un, mais celui qui a construit toutes choses, c'est Dieu.

⁴כי כל בית יש לו בנה אבל בונה כל הוא האלהים׃

⁵And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken;

⁵Pour Moïse, il a été fidèle dans toute la maison de Dieu, comme serviteur, pour rendre témoignage de ce qui devait être annoncé;

⁵והן משה נאמן בכל ביתו כעבד לעדות העמדות להאמר׃

⁶but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.

⁶mais Christ l'est comme Fils sur sa maison; et sa maison, c'est nous, pourvu que nous retenions jusqu'à la fin la ferme confiance et l'espérance dont nous nous glorifions.

⁶אבל המשיח הוא הבן על ביתו ואנחנו ביתו אם נחזיק בבטחון ובתהלת התקוה ולא נרפנה עד הקץ׃

⁷Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, To-day if ye shall hear his voice,

⁷C'est pourquoi, selon ce que dit le Saint-Esprit: Aujourd'hui, si vous entendez sa voix,

⁷לכן כמאמר רוח הקדש היום אם בקלו תשמעו׃

⁸Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,

⁸N'endurcissez pas vos coeurs, comme lors de la révolte, Le jour de la tentation dans le désert,

⁸אל תקשו לבבכם כמריבה כיום מסה במדבר׃

⁹Where your fathers tried [me] by proving [me,] And saw my works forty years.

⁹Où vos pères me tentèrent Pour m'éprouver, et ils virent mes oeuvres Pendant quarante ans.

⁹אשר נסוני אבותיכם בחנוני גם ראו פעלי ארבעים שנה׃

¹⁰Wherefore I was displeased with this generation, And said, They do always err in their heart: But they did not know my ways;

¹⁰Aussi je fus irrité contre cette génération, et je dis: Ils ont toujours un coeur qui s'égare. Ils n'ont pas connu mes voies.

¹⁰לכן אקוט בדור ואמר עם תעי לבב הם והם לא ידעו דרכי׃

¹¹As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.

¹¹Je jurai donc dans ma colère: Ils n'entreront pas dans mon repos!

¹¹אשר נשבעתי באפי אם יבאון אל מנוחתי׃

¹²Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God:

¹²Prenez garde, frères, que quelqu'un de vous n'ait un coeur mauvais et incrédule, au point de se détourner du Dieu vivant.

¹²ראו עתה אחי פן יש באחד מכם לב רע וחסר אמונה לסור מאלהים חיים׃

¹³but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called To-day; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin:

¹³Mais exhortez-vous les uns les autres chaque jour, aussi longtemps qu'on peut dire: Aujourd'hui! afin qu'aucun de vous ne s'endurcisse par la séduction du péché.

¹³אך הוכח תוכיחו איש את רעהו יום יום עד שיקרא היום למען אשר לא יקשה איש מכם את לבו במדוחי פשע׃

¹⁴for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end:

¹⁴Car nous sommes devenus participants de Christ, pourvu que nous retenions fermement jusqu'à la fin l'assurance que nous avions au commencement,

¹⁴כי נתחברנו למשיח אם נחזיק בראשית הבטחה ולא נרפנה עד הקץ׃

¹⁵while it is said, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

¹⁵pendant qu'il est dit: Aujourd'hui, si vous entendez sa voix, N'endurcissez pas vos coeurs, comme lors de la révolte.

¹⁵כאשר נאמר היום אם בקלו תשמעו אל תקשו לבבכם כמריבה׃

¹⁶For who, when they heard, did provoke? nay, did not all they that came out of Egypt by Moses?

¹⁶Qui furent, en effet, ceux qui se révoltèrent après l'avoir entendue, sinon tous ceux qui étaient sortis d'Egypte sous la conduite de Moïse?

¹⁶מי אפוא אלה אשר שמעו ויריבו הלא כל יצאי מצרים ביד משה׃

¹⁷And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

¹⁷Et contre qui Dieu fut-il irrité pendant quarante ans, sinon contre ceux qui péchaient, et dont les cadavres tombèrent dans le désert?

¹⁷ובמי התקוטט ארבעים שנה הלא בחטאים אשר נפלו פגריהם במדבר׃

¹⁸And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?

¹⁸Et à qui jura-t-il qu'ils n'entreraient pas dans son repos, sinon à ceux qui avaient désobéi?

¹⁸ולמי נשבע לבלתי בא אל מנוחתו אם לא לסוררים׃

¹⁹And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.

¹⁹Aussi voyons-nous qu'ils ne purent y entrer à cause de leur incrédulité.

¹⁹ואנחנו ראים כי לא יכלו לבוא על אשר לא האמינו׃
