¹Then came near the heads of fathers' [houses] of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of fathers' [houses] of the tribes of the children of Israel;

²and they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.

²Ils leur parlèrent à Silo, dans le pays de Canaan, et dirent: L'Eternel a ordonné par Moïse qu'on nous donnât des villes pour habitation, et leurs banlieues pour notre bétail.

²וידברו אליהם בשלה בארץ כנען לאמר יהוה צוה ביד משה לתת לנו ערים לשבת ומגרשיהן לבהמתנו׃

³And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of Jehovah, these cities with their suburbs.

³Les enfants d'Israël donnèrent alors aux Lévites, sur leur héritage, les villes suivantes et leurs banlieues, d'après l'ordre de l'Eternel.

³ויתנו בני ישראל ללוים מנחלתם אל פי יהוה את הערים האלה ואת מגרשיהן׃

⁴And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of the Simeonites, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

⁴On tira le sort pour les familles des Kehathites; et les Lévites, fils du sacrificateur Aaron, eurent par le sort treize villes de la tribu de Juda, de la tribu de Siméon et de la tribu de Benjamin;

⁴ויצא הגורל למשפחת הקהתי ויהי לבני אהרן הכהן מן הלוים ממטה יהודה וממטה השמעני וממטה בנימן בגורל ערים שלש עשרה׃

⁵And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

⁵les autres fils de Kehath eurent par le sort dix villes des familles de la tribu d'Ephraïm, de la tribu de Dan et de la demi-tribu de Manassé.

⁵ולבני קהת הנותרים ממשפחת מטה אפרים וממטה דן ומחצי מטה מנשה בגורל ערים עשר׃

⁶And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

⁶Les fils de Guerschon eurent par le sort treize villes des familles de la tribu d'Issacar, de la tribu d'Aser, de la tribu de Nephthali et de la demi-tribu de Manassé en Basan.

⁶ולבני גרשון ממשפחות מטה יששכר וממטה אשר וממטה נפתלי ומחצי מטה מנשה בבשן בגורל ערים שלש עשרה׃

⁷The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

⁷Les fils de Merari, selon leurs familles, eurent douze villes de la tribu de Ruben, de la tribu de Gad et de la tribu de Zabulon.

⁷לבני מררי למשפחתם ממטה ראובן וממטה גד וממטה זבולן ערים שתים עשרה׃

⁸And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as Jehovah commanded by Moses.

⁸Les enfants d'Israël donnèrent aux Lévites, par le sort, ces villes et leurs banlieues, comme l'Eternel l'avait ordonné par Moïse.

⁸ויתנו בני ישראל ללוים את הערים האלה ואת מגרשיהן כאשר צוה יהוה ביד משה בגורל׃

⁹And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are [here] mentioned by name:

⁹ויתנו ממטה בני יהודה וממטה בני שמעון את הערים האלה אשר יקרא אתהן בשם׃

¹⁰and they were for the children of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi; for theirs was the first lot.

¹⁰et qui furent pour les fils d'Aaron d'entre les familles des Kehathites et des fils de Lévi, car le sort les avait indiqués les premiers.

¹⁰ויהי לבני אהרן ממשפחות הקהתי מבני לוי כי להם היה הגורל ראישנה׃

¹¹And they gave them Kiriath-arba, [which Arba was] the father of Anak (the same is Hebron), in the hill-country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.

¹¹Ils leur donnèrent Kirjath-Arba, qui est Hébron, dans la montagne de Juda, et la banlieue qui l'entoure: Arba était le père d'Anak.

¹²But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

¹³And unto the children of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Libnah with its suburbs,

¹⁴and Jattir with its suburbs, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,

¹⁴Jatthir et sa banlieue, Eschthemoa et sa banlieue,

¹⁴ואת יתר ואת מגרשה ואת אשתמע ואת מגרשה׃

¹⁵and Holon with its suburbs, and Debir with its suburbs,

¹⁵Holon et sa banlieue, Debir et sa banlieue,

¹⁵ואת חלן ואת מגרשה ואת דבר ואת מגרשה׃

¹⁶and Ain with its suburbs, and Juttah with its suburbs, [and] Beth-shemesh with its suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes.

¹⁷And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its suburbs, Geba with its suburbs,

¹⁸את ענתות ואת מגרשה ואת עלמון ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע׃

¹⁹All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

¹⁹כל ערי בני אהרן הכהנים שלש עשרה ערים ומגרשיהן׃

²⁰And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, even the rest of the children of Kohath, they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.

²⁰Les Lévites appartenant aux familles des autres fils de Kehath eurent par le sort des villes de la tribu d'Ephraïm.

²⁰ולמשפחות בני קהת הלוים הנותרים מבני קהת ויהי ערי גורלם ממטה אפרים׃

²¹And they gave them Shechem with its suburbs in the hill-country of Ephraim, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Gezer with its suburbs,

²¹On leur donna la ville de refuge pour les meurtriers, Sichem et sa banlieue, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, Guézer et sa banlieue,

²¹ויתנו להם את עיר מקלט הרצח את שכם ואת מגרשה בהר אפרים ואת גזר ואת מגרשה׃

²²and Kibzaim with its suburbs, and Beth-horon with its suburbs; four cities.

²²Kibtsaïm et sa banlieue, et Beth-Horon et sa banlieue, quatre villes;

²²ואת קבצים ואת מגרשה ואת בית חורן ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע׃

²³And out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its suburbs, Gibbethon with its suburbs,

²³וממטה דן את אלתקא ואת מגרשה את גבתון ואת מגרשה׃

²⁴Aijalon with its suburbs, Gath-rimmon with its suburbs; four cities.

²⁴את אילון ואת מגרשה את גת רמון ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע׃

²⁵And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with its suburbs; two cities.

²⁵et de la demi-tribu de Manassé, Thaanac et sa banlieue, et Gath-Rimmon et sa banlieue, deux villes.

²⁵וממחצית מטה מנשה את תענך ואת מגרשה ואת גת רמון ואת מגרשה ערים שתים׃

²⁶All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Kohath were ten with their suburbs.

²⁶Total des villes: dix, et leurs banlieues, pour les familles des autres fils de Kehath.

²⁶כל ערים עשר ומגרשיהן למשפחות בני קהת הנותרים׃

²⁷And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh [they gave] Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Be-eshterah with its suburbs; two cities.

²⁷On donna aux fils de Guerschon, d'entre les familles des Lévites: de la demi-tribu de Manassé, la ville de refuge pour les meurtriers, Golan en Basan et sa banlieue, et Beeschthra et sa banlieue, deux villes;

²⁷ולבני גרשון ממשפחת הלוים מחצי מטה מנשה את עיר מקלט הרצח את גלון בבשן ואת מגרשה ואת בעשתרה ואת מגרשה ערים שתים׃

²⁸And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs,

³⁰And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its suburbs, Abdon with its suburbs,

³⁰וממטה אשר את משאל ואת מגרשה את עבדון ואת מגרשה׃

³¹Helkath with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs; four cities.

³¹את חלקת ואת מגרשה ואת רחב ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע׃

³²And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Hammoth-dor with its suburbs, and Kartan with its suburbs; three cities.

³²et de la tribu de Nephthali, la ville de refuge pour les meurtriers, Kédesch en Galilée et sa banlieue, Hammoth-Dor et sa banlieue, et Karthan et sa banlieue, trois villes.

³³All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

³⁵Dimnah with its suburbs, Nahalal with its suburbs; four cities.

³⁵את דמנה ואת מגרשה את נהלל ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע׃

³⁶And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with its suburbs, and Jahaz with its suburbs,

³⁷את קדמות ואת מגרשה ואת מיפעת ואת מגרשה ערים ארבע׃

³⁸And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,

³⁸et de la tribu de Gad, la ville de refuge pour les meurtriers, Ramoth en Galaad et sa banlieue, Mahanaïm et sa banlieue,

³⁸וממטה גד את עיר מקלט הרצח את רמת בגלעד ואת מגרשה ואת מחנים ואת מגרשה׃

³⁹Heshbon with its suburbs, Jazer with its suburbs; four cities in all.

³⁹Hesbon et sa banlieue, et Jaezer et sa banlieue, en tout quatre villes.

³⁹את חשבון ואת מגרשה את יעזר ואת מגרשה כל ערים ארבע׃

⁴⁰All [these were] the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.

⁴⁰Total des villes qui échurent par le sort aux fils de Merari, selon leurs familles, formant le reste des familles des Lévites: douze villes.

⁴⁰כל הערים לבני מררי למשפחתם הנותרים ממשפחות הלוים ויהי גורלם ערים שתים עשרה׃

⁴¹All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

⁴¹Total des villes des Lévites au milieu des propriétés des enfants d'Israël: quarante-huit villes, et leurs banlieues.

⁴¹כל ערי הלוים בתוך אחזת בני ישראל ערים ארבעים ושמנה ומגרשיהן׃

⁴²These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus it was with all these cities.

⁴²Chacune de ces villes avait sa banlieue qui l'entourait; il en était de même pour toutes ces villes.

⁴²תהיינה הערים האלה עיר עיר ומגרשיה סביבתיה כן לכל הערים האלה׃

⁴³So Jehovah gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

⁴³C'est ainsi que l'Eternel donna à Israël tout le pays qu'il avait juré de donner à leurs pères; ils en prirent possession et s'y établirent.

⁴³ויתן יהוה לישראל את כל הארץ אשר נשבע לתת לאבותם וירשוה וישבו בה׃

⁴⁴And Jehovah gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; Jehovah delivered all their enemies into their hand.

⁴⁴L'Eternel leur accorda du repos tout alentour, comme il l'avait juré à leurs pères; aucun de leurs ennemis ne put leur résister, et l'Eternel les livra tous entre leurs mains.

⁴⁴וינח יהוה להם מסביב ככל אשר נשבע לאבותם ולא עמד איש בפניהם מכל איביהם את כל איביהם נתן יהוה בידם׃

⁴⁵There failed not aught of any good thing which Jehovah had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

⁴⁵De toutes les bonnes paroles que l'Eternel avait dites à la maison d'Israël, aucune ne resta sans effet: toutes s'accomplirent.

⁴⁵לא נפל דבר מכל הדבר הטוב אשר דבר יהוה אל בית ישראל הכל בא׃
