¹And when they draw nigh unto Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth two of his disciples,

¹Lorsqu'ils approchèrent de Jérusalem, et qu'ils furent près de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, vers la montagne des oliviers, Jésus envoya deux de ses disciples,

¹ויהי כאשר קרבו לירושלים אל בית פגי ובית היני בהר הזיתים וישלח שנים מתלמידיו׃

²and saith unto them, Go your way into the village that is over against you: and straightway as ye enter into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat; loose him, and bring him.

²en leur disant: Allez au village qui est devant vous; dès que vous y serez entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel aucun homme ne s'est encore assis; détachez-le, et amenez-le.

²ויאמר אליהם לכו אל הכפר אשר ממולכם והיה כבאכם שמה תמצאו עיר אסור אשר לא ישב עליו אדם אותו התירו והביאו׃

³And if any one say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye, The Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him back hither.

³Si quelqu'un vous dit: Pourquoi faites-vous cela? répondez: Le Seigneur en a besoin. Et à l'instant il le laissera venir ici.

³וכי יאמר אליכם איש למה תעשו זאת ואמרתם האדון צריך לו וברגע ישלחנו הנה׃

⁴And they went away, and found a colt tied at the door without in the open street; and they loose him.

⁴les disciples, étant allés, trouvèrent l'ânon attaché dehors près d'une porte, au contour du chemin, et ils le détachèrent.

⁴וילכו וימצאו העיר אסור אל השער בחוץ על אם הדרך ויתירוהו׃

⁵And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

⁵Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là leur dirent: Que faites-vous? pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon?

⁵ואנשים מן העמדים שם אמרו אליהם מה זאת תעשו להתיר את העיר׃

⁶And they said unto them even as Jesus had said: and they let them go.

⁶Ils répondirent comme Jésus l'avait dit. Et on les laissa aller.

⁶ויאמרו אליהם כאשר צום ישוע ויניחו להם׃

⁷And they bring the colt unto Jesus, and cast on him their garments; and he sat upon him.

⁷Ils amenèrent à Jésus l'ânon, sur lequel ils jetèrent leurs vêtements, et Jésus s'assit dessus.

⁷ויביאו את העיר אל ישוע וישליכו עליו את בגדיהם וישב עליו׃

⁸And many spread their garments upon the way; and others branches, which they had cut from the fields.

⁸Beaucoup de gens étendirent leurs vêtements sur le chemin, et d'autres des branches qu'ils coupèrent dans les champs.

⁸ורבים פרשו את בגדיהם על הדרך ואחרים כרתו ענפים מן העצים וישטחו על הדרך׃

⁹And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, Hosanna; Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

⁹Ceux qui précédaient et ceux qui suivaient Jésus criaient: Hosanna! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!

⁹וההלכים לפניו ואחריו צעקים לאמר הושע נא ברוך הבא בשם יהוה׃

¹⁰Blessed [is] the kingdom that cometh, [the kingdom] of our father David: Hosanna in the highest.

¹⁰Béni soit le règne qui vient, le règne de David, notre père! Hosanna dans les lieux très hauts!

¹⁰ברוכה מלכות דוד אבינו הבאה בשם יהוה הושע נא במרומים׃

¹¹And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple; and when he had looked round about upon all things, it being now eventide, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

¹¹Jésus entra à Jérusalem, dans le temple. Quand il eut tout considéré, comme il était déjà tard, il s'en alla à Béthanie avec les douze.

¹¹ויבא ישוע ירושלים ואל בית המקדש וירא ויתבונן על הכל והיום רפה לערוב ויצא אל בית היני עם שנים העשר׃

¹²And on the morrow, when they were come out from Bethany, he hungered.

¹²Le lendemain, après qu'ils furent sortis de Béthanie, Jésus eut faim.

¹²ויהי ממחרת בצאתם מבית היני וירעב׃

¹³And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find anything thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for it was not the season of figs.

¹³Apercevant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il alla voir s'il y trouverait quelque chose; et, s'en étant approché, il ne trouva que des feuilles, car ce n'était pas la saison des figues.

¹³וירא תאנה מרחוק ולא עלים ויבא לראות הימצא בה פרי ויקרב אליה ולא מצא בה כי אם עלים לבד כי לא היתה עת תאנים׃

¹⁴And he answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And his disciples heard it.

¹⁴Prenant alors la parole, il lui dit: Que jamais personne ne mange de ton fruit! Et ses disciples l'entendirent.

¹⁴ויען ויאמר אליה מעתה איש אל יאכל פרי ממך עד עולם וישמעו תלמידיו׃

¹⁵And they come to Jerusalem: and he entered into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and them that bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold the doves;

¹⁵Ils arrivèrent à Jérusalem, et Jésus entra dans le temple. Il se mit à chasser ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple; il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges des vendeurs de pigeons;

¹⁵ויבאו ירושלים ויבא ישוע אל המקדש ויחל לגרש משם את המוכרים ואת הקונים ויהפך את שלחנות השלחנים ואת מושבות מכרי היונים׃

¹⁶and he would not suffer that any man should carry a vessel through the temple.

¹⁶et il ne laissait personne transporter aucun objet à travers le temple.

¹⁶ולא הניח לאיש לשאת כלי דרך המקדש׃

¹⁷And he taught, and said unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? but ye have made it a den of robbers.

¹⁷Et il enseignait et disait: N'est-il pas écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour toutes les nations? Mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.

¹⁷וילמד ויאמר להם הלא כתוב כי ביתי בית תפלה יקרא לכל העמים ואתם עשיתם אתו מערת פריאים׃

¹⁸And the chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, for all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

¹⁸Les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes, l'ayant entendu, cherchèrent les moyens de le faire périr; car ils le craignaient, parce que toute la foule était frappée de sa doctrine.

¹⁸וישמעו הסופרים וראשי הכהנים ויתנכלו אתו להשמידו כי יראו מפניו יען אשר כל העם משתוממים על תורתו׃

¹⁹And every evening he went forth out of the city.

¹⁹Quand le soir fut venu, Jésus sortit de la ville.

¹⁹ויהי בערב ויצא אל מחוץ לעיר׃

²⁰And as they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.

²⁰Le matin, en passant, les disciples virent le figuier séché jusqu'aux racines.

²⁰ויהי הם עברים בבקר ויראו את התאנה כי יבשה עם שרשיה׃

²¹And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Rabbi, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

²¹Pierre, se rappelant ce qui s'était passé, dit à Jésus: Rabbi, regarde, le figuier que tu as maudit a séché.

²¹ויזכר פטרוס ויאמר אליו רבי הנה התאנה אשר אררתה יבשה׃

²²And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

²²Jésus prit la parole, et leur dit: Ayez foi en Dieu.

²²ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם תהי נא בכם אמונת אלהים׃

²³Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it.

²³Je vous le dis en vérité, si quelqu'un dit à cette montagne: Ote-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer, et s'il ne doute point en son coeur, mais croit que ce qu'il dit arrive, il le verra s'accomplir.

²³כי אמן אמר אני לכם כל אשר יאמר אל ההר הזה הנשא והעתק אל תוך הים ואין ספק בלבבו כי אם יאמין כי יהיה כאשר אמר כן גם יהיה לו׃

²⁴Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

²⁴C'est pourquoi je vous dis: Tout ce que vous demanderez en priant, croyez que vous l'avez reçu, et vous le verrez s'accomplir.

²⁴על כן אני אמר לכם כל אשר תשאלו בהתפללכם האמינו כי תקחו ויהי לכם׃

²⁵And whensoever ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any one; that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

²⁵Et, lorsque vous êtes debout faisant votre prière, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu'un, pardonnez, afin que votre Père qui est dans les cieux vous pardonne aussi vos offenses.

²⁵וכי תעמדו להתפלל תסלחו לכל איש את אשר בלבבכם עליו למען יסלח לכם אביכם שבשמים אף הוא את פשעיכם׃

²⁶[But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses.]

²⁶Mais si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est dans les cieux ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos offenses.

²⁶ואתם אם לא תסלחו אף אביכם שבשמים לא יסלח לכם את פשעיכם׃

²⁷And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders;

²⁷Ils se rendirent de nouveau à Jérusalem, et, pendant que Jésus se promenait dans le temple, les principaux sacrificateurs, les scribes et les anciens, vinrent à lui,

²⁷וישובו ויבאו ירושלים ויהי הוא מתהלך במקדש ויבאו אליו הכהנים הגדולים והסופרים והזקנים׃

²⁸and they said unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? or who gave thee this authority to do these things?

²⁸et lui dirent: Par quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses, et qui t'a donné l'autorité de les faire?

²⁸ויאמרו אליו באי זו רשות אתה עשה אלה ומי נתן לך את הרשות הזאת לעשות את אלה׃

²⁹And Jesus said unto them, I will ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁹Jésus leur répondit: Je vous adresserai aussi une question; répondez-moi, et je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

²⁹ויאמר ישוע אליהם גם אני אשאלה אתכם דבר אחד ואתם השיבוני ואמר לכם באי זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃

³⁰The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? answer me.

³⁰Le baptême de Jean venait-il du ciel, ou des hommes? Répondez-moi.

³⁰טבילת יוחנן המן השמים היתה אם מבני אדם השיבוני׃

³¹And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; He will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

³¹Mais ils raisonnèrent ainsi entre eux: Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il dira: Pourquoi donc n'avez-vous pas cru en lui?

³¹ויחשבו כה וכה בקרבם לאמר אם נאמר מן השמים יאמר מדוע אפוא לא האמנתם לו׃

³²But should we say, From men--they feared the people: for all verily held John to be a prophet.

³²Et si nous répondons: Des hommes... Ils craignaient le peuple, car tous tenaient réellement Jean pour un prophète.

³²או הנאמר מבני אדם וייראו את העם כי כלם חשבו את יוחנן לנביא באמת׃

³³And they answered Jesus and say, We know not. And Jesus saith unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

³³Alors ils répondirent à Jésus: Nous ne savons. Et Jésus leur dit: Moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

³³ויענו ויאמרו אל ישוע לא ידענו ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם אם כן גם אני לא אמר לכם באי זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃
