¹משא נינוה ספר חזון נחום האלקשי׃

²Jehovah is a jealous God and avengeth; Jehovah avengeth and is full of wrath; Jehovah taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth [wrath] for his enemies.

²L'Eternel est un Dieu jaloux, il se venge; L'Eternel se venge, il est plein de fureur; L'Eternel se venge de ses adversaires, Il garde rancune à ses ennemis.

²אל קנוא ונקם יהוה נקם יהוה ובעל חמה נקם יהוה לצריו ונוטר הוא לאיביו׃

³Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means clear [the guilty]: Jehovah hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

³L'Eternel est lent à la colère, il est grand par sa force; Il ne laisse pas impuni. L'Eternel marche dans la tempête, dans le tourbillon; Les nuées sont la poussière de ses pieds.

³יהוה ארך אפים וגדול כח ונקה לא ינקה יהוה בסופה ובשערה דרכו וענן אבק רגליו׃

⁴He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

⁴Il menace la mer et la dessèche, Il fait tarir tous les fleuves; Le Basan et le Carmel languissent, La fleur du Liban se flétrit.

⁴גוער בים ויבשהו וכל הנהרות החריב אמלל בשן וכרמל ופרח לבנון אמלל׃

⁵The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

⁵Les montagnes s'ébranlent devant lui, Et les collines se fondent; La terre se soulève devant sa face, Le monde et tous ses habitants.

⁵הרים רעשו ממנו והגבעות התמגגו ותשא הארץ מפניו ותבל וכל ישבי בה׃

⁶Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.

⁶Qui résistera devant sa fureur? Qui tiendra contre son ardente colère? Sa fureur se répand comme le feu, Et les rochers se brisent devant lui.

⁶לפני זעמו מי יעמוד ומי יקום בחרון אפו חמתו נתכה כאש והצרים נתצו ממנו׃

⁷Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him.

⁷L'Eternel est bon, Il est un refuge au jour de la détresse; Il connaît ceux qui se confient en lui.

⁷טוב יהוה למעוז ביום צרה וידע חסי בו׃

⁸But with an over-running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

⁸Mais avec des flots qui déborderont Il détruira la ville, Et il poursuivra ses ennemis jusque dans les ténèbres.

⁸ובשטף עבר כלה יעשה מקומה ואיביו ירדף חשך׃

⁹What do ye devise against Jehovah? he will make a full end; affliction shall not rise up the second time.

⁹Que méditez-vous contre l'Eternel? C'est lui qui détruit. La détresse ne paraîtra pas deux fois.

⁹מה תחשבון אל יהוה כלה הוא עשה לא תקום פעמים צרה׃

¹⁰For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly as dry stubble.

¹⁰Car entrelacés comme des épines, Et comme ivres de leur vin, Ils seront consumés Comme la paille sèche, entièrement.

¹⁰כי עד סירים סבכים וכסבאם סבואים אכלו כקש יבש מלא׃

¹¹There is one gone forth out of thee, that deviseth evil against Jehovah, that counselleth wickedness.

¹¹De toi est sorti Celui qui méditait le mal contre l'Eternel, Celui qui avait de méchants desseins.

¹¹ממך יצא חשב על יהוה רעה יעץ בליעל׃

¹²Thus saith Jehovah: Though they be in full strength, and likewise many, even so shall they be cut down, and he shall pass away. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.

¹²Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Quoique intacts et nombreux, Ils seront moissonnés et disparaîtront. Je veux t'humilier, Pour ne plus avoir à t'humilier...

¹²כה אמר יהוה אם שלמים וכן רבים וכן נגזו ועבר וענתך לא אענך עוד׃

¹³And now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.

¹³Je briserai maintenant son joug de dessus toi, Et je romprai tes liens...

¹³ועתה אשבר מטהו מעליך ומוסרתיך אנתק׃

¹⁴And Jehovah hath given commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image; I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

¹⁴Voici ce qu'a ordonné sur toi l'Eternel: Tu n'auras plus de descendants qui portent ton nom; J'enlèverai de la maison de ton dieu les images taillées ou en fonte; Je préparerai ton sépulcre, car tu es trop léger.

¹⁴וצוה עליך יהוה לא יזרע משמך עוד מבית אלהיך אכרית פסל ומסכה אשים קברך כי קלות׃

¹⁵Behold, upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! Keep thy feasts, O Judah, perform thy vows; for the wicked one shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

¹⁵Voici sur les montagnes Les pieds du messager qui annonce la paix! Célèbre tes fêtes, Juda, accomplis tes voeux! Car le méchant ne passera plus au milieu de toi, Il est entièrement exterminé...

¹⁵הנה על ההרים רגלי מבשר משמיע שלום חגי יהודה חגיך שלמי נדריך כי לא יוסיף עוד לעבור בך בליעל כלה נכרת׃
