¹After his I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that no wind should blow on the earth, or on the sea, or upon any tree.

¹Après cela, je vis quatre anges debout aux quatre coins de la terre; ils retenaient les quatre vents de la terre, afin qu'il ne soufflât point de vent sur la terre, ni sur la mer, ni sur aucun arbre.

¹ואחרי כן ראיתי ארבעה מלאכים עמדים בארבע כנפות הארץ ויעצרו את ארבע רוחות הארץ למען לא תשב רוח לא בארץ ולא בים ולא בכל עץ׃

²And I saw another angel ascend from the sunrising, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a great voice to the four angels to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

²Et je vis un autre ange, qui montait du côté du soleil levant, et qui tenait le sceau du Dieu vivant; il cria d'une voix forte aux quatre anges à qui il avait été donné de faire du mal à la terre et à la mer,

²וארא מלאך אחר עלה ממרח שמש ובידו חתמת אלהים חיים ויקרא בקול גדול אל ארבעה המלאכים אשר נתן להם לחבל הארץ והים לאמר׃

³saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we shall have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.

³et il dit: Ne faites point de mal à la terre, ni à la mer, ni aux arbres, jusqu'à ce que nous ayons marqué du sceau le front des serviteurs de notre Dieu.

³אל תחבלו את הארץ ואת הים ואת העץ עד אם חתמנו את עבדי אלהינו על מצחותם׃

⁴And I heard the number of them that were sealed, a hundred and forty and four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel:

⁴Et j'entendis le nombre de ceux qui avaient été marqués du sceau, cent quarante-quatre mille, de toutes les tribus des fils d'Israël:

⁴ואשמע מספר החתומים מאה אלף וארבעים וארבעה אלף והם חתומים מכל שבטי בני ישראל׃

⁵Of the tribe of Judah [were] sealed twelve thousand: Of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand;

⁵de la tribu de Juda, douze mille marqués du sceau; de la tribu de Ruben, douze mille; de la tribu de Gad, douze mille;

⁵לשבט יהודה חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט ראובן חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט גד חתומים שנים עשר אלף׃

⁶Of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand;

⁶de la tribu d'Aser, douze mille; de la tribu de Nephthali, douze mille; de la tribu de Manassé, douze mille;

⁶לשבט אשר חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט נפתלי חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט מנשה חתומים שנים עשר אלף׃

⁷Of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand;

⁷de la tribu de Siméon, douze mille; de la tribu de Lévi, douze mille; de la tribu d'Issacar, douze mille;

⁷לשבט שמעון חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט לוי חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט יששכר חתומים שנים עשר אלף׃

⁸Of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand; Of the tribe of Benjamin [were] sealed twelve thousand.

⁸de la tribu de Zabulon, douze mille; de la tribu de Joseph, douze mille; de la tribu de Benjamin, douze mille marqués du sceau.

⁸לשבט זבלון חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט יוסף חתומים שנים עשר אלף לשבט בנימן חתומים שנים עשר אלף׃

⁹After these things I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of [all] tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, arrayed in white robes, and palms in their hands;

⁹Après cela, je regardai, et voici, il y avait une grande foule, que personne ne pouvait compter, de toute nation, de toute tribu, de tout peuple, et de toute langue. Ils se tenaient devant le trône et devant l'agneau, revêtus de robes blanches, et des palmes dans leurs mains.

⁹אחרי כן ראיתי והנה המון רב אשר לא יכל איש למנותו מכל הגוים והמשפחות והעמים והלשנות ויעמדו לפני הכסא ולפני השה מלבשים שמלות לבנות וכפות תמרים בידיהם׃

¹⁰and they cry with a great voice, saying, Salvation unto our God who sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb.

¹⁰Et ils criaient d'une voix forte, en disant: Le salut est à notre Dieu qui est assis sur le trône, et à l'agneau.

¹⁰ויקראו בקול גדול לאמר הישועה לאלהינו הישב על הכסא ולשה׃

¹¹And all the angels were standing round about the throne, and [about] the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

¹¹Et tous les anges se tenaient autour du trône et des vieillards et des quatre êtres vivants; et ils se prosternèrent sur leurs faces devant le trône, et ils adorèrent Dieu,

¹¹וכל המלאכים עמדו סביב לכסא וסביב לזקנים ולארבע החיות ויפלו על פניהם לפני הכסא וישתחוו לאלהים׃

¹²saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, [be] unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

¹²en disant: Amen! La louange, la gloire, la sagesse, l'action de grâces, l'honneur, la puissance, et la force, soient à notre Dieu, aux siècles des siècles! Amen!

¹²ויאמרו אמן הברכה והכבוד והחכמה והתודה וההדר והכח והעז לאלהינו לעולמי עולמים אמן׃

¹³And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, These that are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and whence came they?

¹³Et l'un des vieillards prit la parole et me dit: Ceux qui sont revêtus de robes blanches, qui sont-ils, et d'où sont-ils venus?

¹³ויען אחד מן הזקנים ויאמר אלי אלה המלבשים בגדי לבן מי המה ומאין באו׃

¹⁴And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁴Je lui dis: Mon seigneur, tu le sais. Et il me dit: Ce sont ceux qui viennent de la grande tribulation; ils ont lavé leurs robes, et ils les ont blanchies dans le sang de l'agneau.

¹⁴ואמר אליו אדני אתה ידעת ויאמר אלי אלה הם הבאים מן הצרה הגדולה ויכבסו את שמלתם וילבינום בדם השה׃

¹⁵Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them.

¹⁵C'est pour cela qu'ils sont devant le trône de Dieu, et le servent jour et nuit dans son temple. Celui qui est assis sur le trône dressera sa tente sur eux;

¹⁵לכן הנם לפני כסא האלהים ומשרתים אותו בהיכלו יומם ולילה והישב על הכסא יתן משכנו עליהם׃

¹⁶They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun strike upon them, nor any heat:

¹⁶ils n'auront plus faim, ils n'auront plus soif, et le soleil ne les frappera point, ni aucune chaleur.

¹⁶לא ירעבו עוד ולא יצמאו ולא יכם שמש ושרב׃

¹⁷for the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them unto fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes.

¹⁷Car l'agneau qui est au milieu du trône les paîtra et les conduira aux sources des eaux de la vie, et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux.

¹⁷כי השה אשר בתוך הכסא הוא ירעם ועל מבועי מים חיים ינהלם ומחה אליהם כל דמעה מעיניהם׃
